Is the heavy exploit cheating?
Guys it's cheating, just admit it
For everyone saying it's not cheating, was pushing Templar and Atheon of the edge not cheating?
Was 'cheesing the bridge' at Crota not cheating?
Was the heavy ammo glitch (Crystal room in CE) not cheating?
Was the heavy ammo glitch in skolas not cheating?
Was the shit load of hammers not cheating?
Was the shadow shot glitch not cheating?
Just saying...

Cheating or not, it's wrong and selfish for people to continue to do it and ruin other people's experience.

Using a Loop hole isn't cheating. I don't do it myself, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

Exploiting, not cheating. Exploiting a card game isn't cheating, but taking outside cards and putting them into the game is. Uneducated #Destiny at its finest.

Anything that gives you an unfair advantage is cheating.

I do not really care what you do in PVE but if you knowingly use an exploit in PVP to gain an advantage I consider it cheating.

Like scatter grenades not going off, Nova bomb not registering, fusion rifle hits not registering, etc. Will you call all those cheating on Bungie's part? And I'm sure if you're a year 1 player then you'll remember those safe spots where people used to hide with icebreakers. So was that cheating?

Using one time is unknowingly using a bug. Use it more than once it's technically exploiting a bug and therefore cheating. Also the people who abused it are a-holes for getting ToO and IB taken away. Two of the main reasons I play this game and poof! Gone....

If the game allows you to do it it's not cheating. It my be unethical but it's not cheating. Btw I've not come across anybody using the ammo glitch either. So gg peeps.

Any glitch in PvP is cheating. Any glitch in PvE is fine.

I voted yes, but for the record I don't consider any of the examples you listed as "cheating". Cheesing, yes, but it takes a lot for me to consider exploits that take advantage of game mechanics as "cheating" when it comes to [b]PvE [/b]activities. That's just players getting creative. PvP is another matter, and if it gives you an advantage over other players and their experience, then it is not ok in my book. What others do in PvE however, I don't care. Let everyone have fun there.

2 RepliesWinning in destiny is getting loot not winning a pvp match when did you feel more happy when you got gjallarhorn for the first time or when you won a pvp match..... in pvp (I've never encountered any heavy glitchers yet...) seeing someone with unlimited rockets would piss me off to no end so yeah it would be cheating but something like cheesing crota's bridge is acceptable because I always ran it with 2 to 4 people anyway I've only done crota with 5+ people once and I hated it

People have a problem with false binaries. They think things must be all good or all evil. Take sniping. When people get sick of being sniped, they argue it takes no skill. Why? The problem you're really having is that regardless of skill, sniping sucks the fun out of the game. Similar with this situation. People are mad about the heavy ammo glitch so they call it cheating. But it doesn't involve modifying your connection or console or attacking another person's connection. Those things are cheating. This is a glitch that Bungie accidently put into the game. Shit happens. The people using it are selfishly ruining things for the rest of you, but they're not cheaters. Personally I think keyboard and mouse users are cheating to a greater degree than these guys, but that's me.

There is a fundimental difference in how the terms are used. Exploits are using natural mechanics within the game. Cheating is doing something outside the game. An example is lag switching. Different things.

I got proof of at least 30 players who used the heavy ammo exploit just today. I mean where is the banhammer there ?

According to the terms of service it is, but bungie contradicted this by saying it's just players that found a way to play that wasn't intended.

2 RepliesBad coding and not enough testing before launching. Perks stacking on guns that were designed by bungie with their code is not cheating on the players part.

In a post I made people said "cheating" in pve is good because it's pve whole cheating in pvp is bad since..pvp. xD

People are just utilizing something thats in the game that happens to give them an advantage. Just like people using meta loadouts. The fault is on Bungies end for not learning from the past and doing rigorous tests on their product.
