I'm solely a PVP player and will for the most part avoid PVE at all costs. Up until a few days ago I hadn't done a single nightfall or a single raid in year 2, but with the April update I found my light level lacking in trials and iron banner being stuck at 312 so I thought I'd give the raid a shot, it couldn't be that hard I'd done over 100 raids in year one and achieved flawless raider in VOG way before dark below dropped.
But my experience in LFG and the forums was astounding, multiple times kicked from parties because I don't have touch of malice, exotic swords, black spindle or the sleeper or just due to low light level/lack of experience. I finally managed to jump in an experienced team for a hard challenge mode run by offering a trials flawless carry in return and even though they knew how the raid worked and I didn't I still got almost double anyone else's kills.
What truly amazed me was how happy they were at oryx that I was able to kill the Knights consistently so quickly while often someone would have trouble and call for help... Really how hard is it to headshot a knight once that spawns in the exact same place every damn time?
My point is anyone who's done the raid a couple of times SHOULD be smashing it out like a pro every time after, that's not skill it just means you're not an idiot and can remember a simple strategy. Obviously there's exceptions when you start soloing or going for flawless raider but simply beating the same raid the same way 3 times every week isn't impressive and it certainly must get boring. I also feel any decent PVP player could quickly transition into a great PVE player with little effort, and I doubt the same would be true in reverse.

Bait posts are old. GTFO

Didn't read this post, because i am uninterested in the topic, but as i was scrolling by, i thought it said "You're not good just because you got laid" and i laughed, so i thought i should share that.

How could you be stuck at 312 light??? I dont TOUCH PvE ever and im at 333 on my hunter
-
Everyone's personal viewpoint stems from arrogance because we all know what we know. You have to consider other viewpoints, the people's on LFG. A good time for TTK raid is less than 100 minutes. But everyone has also spent 100 minutes, if not 3 hours, just on one phase of the raid due to someone's lack of good weapons, refusal to listen and learn, too drunk/distracted/apathetic, etc. You are the same way in PvP when MM puts you in with people with a 0.2 k/d. Imagine if MM was LFG based and someone tried to join up with you with no credentials/weapons/armor and just said "hey, don't worry, I am good".

Edited by LynxD3stiny: 5/12/2016 12:25:10 PMJust so you know: You were getting kicked because the gear shows you can do different jobs. Also light level 312? Yeah nobody takes that on the forums. Lfg is usually full of noobs who can't hold their own, so that ask for 330s. I would happily take a good player w/ touch or spindle but if it's your first raid? Hell no. I'll take people who are new to the raid if that's what I'm doing that day. If I want to get it done then I'll look for a group that's done it. Look I don't like lfg that much either but don't be an entitled prick and think everyone will know your backstory. Oh and that PvP player automatically being good at PvE too, not true at all.

1 ReplyYou're not good just because you play pvp regularly either
to be perfectly honest, pvp is like a tumor on the back of this game, it's slowing the game down from becoming better and is just making it, and the community even worse
5 RepliesWow, only 4065 Grimoire score. What a filthy casual. Get good, scrublord.

You just got in a group that sucked. There are lot of those out there.

5 RepliesEdited by Sanctified N7: 5/12/2016 12:06:44 PMFrom my XP, PvP players are more straight up garbage than PvE ones. Check the forums. Full of huuuge k/d's, tiny genitelia children. Anyway. It's a hobby. A game. So irrelevant in the scheme of things. 2 cents.

Even tho this is bait its true my last raid was the day when the hard raid come out (my team was just outside the top 10 we while sad but happy at the same time. Oh 2h and 32m was the time. One of only times I cared for pve .

4 RepliesYou can only raid if you were a original relic holder or sword bearer. Come talk to us when you solo hard Crota year 2's
-
I don't take the raid too serious, either. If my raid team has some weak players and it takes us 2 hours instead of 45 minutes, so be it. I've played with some pretty damn good PvP players. Played Oryx Hard challenge this morning with a PvP-only-guy. Only died on first try cuz we forgot to tell him to stay in aura. 2nd try - flawless, 315 light too.

And my daddy is better than your daddy!

The nerds on here are so comical

Good story bro.

To answer ur question about the knights. Some knights tend to take forever to spawn. You cant stay on the plate forever or you will get melted by adds. You call out to the remaining players in the middle to keep an eye out for your knight while you make ur way towards the middle

Edited by Dixie-_-NormousX: 5/12/2016 11:14:52 AMSo you fight ignorance with more ignorance? Sorry that you fell into a couple of bad teams but that hasn't been my normal experience.

3 RepliesMy experience was pretty bad with multiple raids on every raid there was in game. I started to get sick of people when we started raids, I adopted that attitude of always thinking that they are aggressive and not looking for a couple of laughs. I said to a friend on the party before we got anyone "You do know that three people will probably leave during Oryx" and I predicted that! Either people were always screaming at each other, or they leave after one try, or they are just arrogant through the entire raid at then end of it all I sadly became one of those screaming ones and that's when I decided to just don't bother with the raids. PvP hasn't made me angry once and it's a fun short game if you don't have anything to do during that time. Of course I got hate mail (Like in every raid afterwards) but I did get some mail that made me laugh (Unlike every raid). Remember this is just my thoughts on it and probably someone will call me an insult. I just wanted to get my opinion and my experience out there and I hope that people don't have any of the annoyances that I got during my raids. If you got this far, thanks for reading and have a nice day
The limited number of times I did them of course.
Right now, the issue is not with skill in Raids or light lvl. It's communication. With the influx of all these players with higher light lvl's, it is impossible to determine anymore who is experienced in Raids, or not. I joined a team yesterday where three of us spoke, the other three rarely said anything, but of course new what they were doing. Not. I left after multiple tries at Oryx, picked up another team and we did Oryx in 2 tries, because you know why. WE COMMUNICATED.
-
I've gotten both ToM and Black Spindle with only 1-3 raid completions. I've done the raid many many times (I hate oryx so I never do it). If you aren't willing to put effort into this then yeah. Start with normal and work up to it. We carried my friend who was 290 through normal. Once your at 315-320 start trying hard. That way you'll have experience.

1 ReplyThe scrub is strong with this one, don't fall off your ego you might die lol some of the worst people I've raided with or did strikes with had the scarab heart emblem others are pros. I try to be as well rounded as possible I've never been flawless, ( 8-0 3x ) but I can do every task in the raid with my eyes closed how does that make me an idiot. I'm glad u play on x box one less moron to worry about - muted

2 RepliesWho cares ?

2 RepliesEdited by Hunter-Max99: 5/12/2016 9:00:45 AMSo you say you're a PvP player only. But why are you stuck at Level 312? Iron Banner drops this time where ridicules and and Osiris packages drop always stuff above your current light level.

1 ReplyFor me, it's not just simply beating it, but it's HOW you beat it. ~TheGreatNike

lots of kills could mean thralls.. and killing knights is easy. sounds like you had a bad raid group.
