You're not good just because you can raid
I'm solely a PVP player and will for the most part avoid PVE at all costs. Up until a few days ago I hadn't done a single nightfall or a single raid in year 2, but with the April update I found my light level lacking in trials and iron banner being stuck at 312 so I thought I'd give the raid a shot, it couldn't be that hard I'd done over 100 raids in year one and achieved flawless raider in VOG way before dark below dropped.
But my experience in LFG and the forums was astounding, multiple times kicked from parties because I don't have touch of malice, exotic swords, black spindle or the sleeper or just due to low light level/lack of experience. I finally managed to jump in an experienced team for a hard challenge mode run by offering a trials flawless carry in return and even though they knew how the raid worked and I didn't I still got almost double anyone else's kills.
What truly amazed me was how happy they were at oryx that I was able to kill the Knights consistently so quickly while often someone would have trouble and call for help... Really how hard is it to headshot a knight once that spawns in the exact same place every damn time?
My point is anyone who's done the raid a couple of times SHOULD be smashing it out like a pro every time after, that's not skill it just means you're not an idiot and can remember a simple strategy. Obviously there's exceptions when you start soloing or going for flawless raider but simply beating the same raid the same way 3 times every week isn't impressive and it certainly must get boring. I also feel any decent PVP player could quickly transition into a great PVE player with little effort, and I doubt the same would be true in reverse.

1 ReplyAre you talking about the raid on your warlock? If yes then the stats you and your fireteam had don't prove your point at all in fact the opposite. I guess the post is somewhat bait but still c'mon man. I was part of a team that beat king's fall heroic the first weekend it dropped which was way more challenging than any pvp experience i've had by far. At this point in the game mostly everybody is over level or just about with the difficulty and knows pretty much every mechanic of the raid. That being said i've been in raids with 335 light who are clueless and 309 who could hold their own. Yeah you're right it isn't difficult to snipe a red bar knight but imo what makes a skilled and reliable raider is being able to do most if not all roles throughout and being able to adapt and multi task when someone dies. You died 42x in that raid on your warlock how could you say a decent pvp player could easily transition into a beast raider or pve player lol? Especially with an lfg group it is not easy to get different personalities and people who have used different strats to come together. If a player is mainly pvp or pve and wants to become more balanced or do activities out of their comfort zone it will not be an easy transition either way that's why this game is fun it's challenging to conquer all of it.

Most of the people on lfg ARE complete idiots. Everyone who's done the raid every week since it came out should be doing it flawlessly now. Zero wipes. Hell, you shouldn't even need to talk. Yet some people have attention spans and memory that make goldfish look good.

People ask for help on the Knights when the runner gets the relic too fast and the 3rd doesn't spawn yet, so the player with that plate runs to the middle to avoid being -blam!- by acolyte eyes while calling out they didn't get it. It happens often and is less risky.

If you can raid. That is experience. Not everyone likes pvp. Not to mention this game was marketed for pve

I consider myself "good" because I can consistently run the relic without issue and I tend to be highly adaptive and capable of jumping right into a plate role should the need arise

It is nothing but spamming abilities and easy to handle weapons that all shoot pillows thanks to your pvp brothers getting them all nerfed. Not to mention Bungie gave you morons permanent radars to hold your hand while you play. PvP in this game is a joke and has been a mess for months. AAA game without dedicated servers in 2014/2016 = 0/10. Bitch please. The raid is more difficult now that all you pvp players are trying to do it, since you are overleveled now and it is easier. Stay in pvp. Us pve players certainly wont miss your miserable ass.

Some people are not willing to take the risk of having someone on their team who is low light and doesn't have the usual weapons used in the raid. I agree they are not necessary but not having them indicates you are inexperienced. Spending 4hrs in a raid is not fun and most people want a smooth, quick run. I can't get in a trials team. Why? Because I'm inexperienced and don't have the requirements people want. Most people wouldn't take a player with a low k/d in pvp same as most people wouldn't take a inexperienced player in pve. Works both ways.

2 RepliesI haven't done any pve in a long time. Met a pve guy in crucible that took me along for a level 42 prison run. I had double his kills when we were done (although a few more deaths). Pvp makes you accurate and quick when killing. Especially against AI.

Being someone who learned to snipe in PVP, I see a direct benefit to end game PVE. I saw a good trials player could make the transition. Coordinating and doing your assignment is key to the raids.
