Why 3 shots for golden gun?

A sunbreaker can throw at least 5 hammers, but could be up to 7. A stormcaller lasts forever and can shred 7-10 opponents easily (oh, and is nearly impossible to run away from unless you're already on the other side of the map). And a golden gun gets 3 bullets. Why? Why shouldn't the golden gun last the entire duration of the super, or alternatively, not have a time limit if limited to 3 shots?

  • Well, i don't think you should get more shots (i play gunslinger a lot, just sayin) but i think that other supers time should be cut, since a super is a 'special' thing, and shouldn'y just be activated right as you get it. Also, i think gg is ooookay in pvp, but really lacks in pve.

  • I think supers should be shortened across the board. I don't think any super should be used long enough to obliterate a whole team, but used only for quick, special circumstances. hammers are too long, stormcaller is obviously too long, bladedancer is shorter but still meh. fix it all. they should give 3 easy kills max, and that's even pushing it in my opinion. it's the main reason pvp is so flip flopped.

  • combustion & keyhole. technically you are able to oneshot 7 opponents. so i guess thats the quintesence of only 3 shots on gg

  • 3 shots that kill everything in a second (no travek tjme) and the gun has strong aim assist Not to mention you have access to your grenades and melee

      • Golden gun shots have no travel time, infinite range and no damage fall off (in multiplayer) Hammers have ridiculous travel time, low blast radius, and are incredibly easy to dodge, they're very loud and those using it are immediately public enemy number 1 Storm trance is slow, honestly fairly difficult to use, easy to avoid, and is very loud making the user a prime target. In my [b][i]Opinion[/i][/b] they're all balanced

        • There was a time when multiple golden gun shots wouldn't kill someone why HoS was active and if they killed you which they would instantly their health recharged. I know that by saying this it means I'm retarded or never played video games but it is nowhere near as powerful as the storm caller. It is the super breaker though better than any other

        • Isn't the average amount of kills with a super about 2? I remember them producing stats around when everyone was complaining about hammers , and they showed the super kills per class. It was fairly even . Anyway , 3 is fine . It's a easy super to use as it where , sure you have no protection but you have a guaranteed one hit kill from very decent range.

        • It's fine, plus if you get the helmet you get four shots. Three shots can easily wipe a team anyway

          • Golden gun is instant death from anywhere on the map. Hammers suck now. I get more kills from those 3 golden gun shots than I do a whole batch of hammers.

                • Old super are somewhat outdated by the new supers. Like Nova bomb to hammer. Golden Gun to hammer. Foh to landfall. Golden to tri-shot bolts.

                  • All it needs is a 50%+ buff (PVE). In fact, all 9 supers need that same or higher amount of buff.

                  • lol I main golden gun and 3 is fine, the range accurate and power is top tier, you can kill people so fast and if your good there is almost no chance for even good people to kill you, 3 shots is plenty

                  • To be fair I do believe the golden gun originally had 6 shots, since you're channelling your light through the last word, Which is a 6 shot handcannon. I believe Bungie nerfed it to 3 before the beta since thats what they do best.
