Seriously, class items should be like a part of your signature style. I think taking away the feature where class items changed color with shaders, and by forcing players to wear the highest level item they have, you are taking away a customization option. We should be able to wear whatever class item we like!
Whether it be the starting class item for your character, a rare, something from year one, or whatever item it may be; we all have our personal styles and preferences. Class items do not provide an edge over opponents, so I don't understand why they have to have a level. And I REALLY don't understand why the shader feature was removed from them.
If you agree, please express it to Bungie. You never know, the right person could see it and spark a change. If you disagree, then share why.
Edit: Bungie I hope you're seeing this! Tons of us players would like to wear the class items we want without having to worry about light level. I hope you at least take it into consideration, and some kind of reply would be nice to know you're there listening to us.

Because stupid
-
2 RepliesI dislike the class items affecting our light and ghosts. And artifacts. Heck if I could I would wear the 320 artifact I got on my hunter that looks extremely cool..
-
I'm fine with them having a light level, I just think all of the class items should be able to be infused to whatever the highest light is at the time.
-
Let all cloaks be infusible up to current light level
-
1 ReplyIt's stupid
-
1 ReplyI wish I could wear my vanilla cloaks without being penalized. I get no stats on it either.
-
4 RepliesI like how putting different coloured stickers on your floating robot companion makes you stronger
-
4 RepliesReal question is why don't class items change with shader?
-
-
2 RepliesI think you should be able to choose whether or not a shader affects the class item
-
I too wish class items didn't effect light level or stats in general. I could wear anything again without being at a disadvantage. I miss my mark of the supreme...
-
1 ReplyIkr? I remember when they were just vanity...now they have stats? And perks? What the actual -blam!-
-
5 RepliesSo Bungie's light level system can divide by 10 and make it easy. Lol
-
To keep people from 320. Need two 320 class items to get
-
5 RepliesBack in year ome a lot of people complained about useless class items so complaining about useful ones now is dumb
-
2 RepliesEdited by Clocky: 3/15/2016 1:02:17 AMIt's pretty dumb. The Speaker, Eris and Variks' inventories were made pointless. By the time you can afford their prices, you'll have found stronger stuff on the ground.

5 RepliesArtifacts should be removed
-
Edited by mus: 3/15/2016 12:55:05 AMHonestly I don't care of light but the fact that wearing them takes a hit on you stats (300 300) is what bothers me
-
7 RepliesWhy? Because the community complained about hitting max level/light the same week after house of wolves and the dark below. Some basic research and spending some times in the forums could have answered your question. You didn't have to rant all that nonsense.
-
1 ReplyBecause bungie thought if they did this and added artifacts it would be easier to divide by 10 to get ur light level.
-
It's one more thing to keep you from achieving 320 or whatever the next light level will be.
-
10 RepliesY1: CLASS ITEMS ARE HAVE NO PURPOSE! What's the point?! Y2: UGH WHY DO CLASS ITEMS HAVE A PURPOSE?! Lol@ this community. But I agree with both. They should still do something but they shouldn't have light
-
3 RepliesNext they're probably introduce light level for the shaders haha.
-
1 ReplyClass items...or ghosts...or even artifacts. Next DLC will have emotes with light
-
Because Buttgie doesn't have a clue
-
1 ReplyI still wear my Kell & Shattered Vault cloaks for fun. I would like to actually keep them on and not affect my light
