Why do people pick on Hunters?
I'm new here so excuse me if this is a dumb question. I'm always seeing people talk about all Hunters whining and stuff. Just wondering why hunters get roasted on the daily

It's part of the Hunter "motif". Hunters are loners and/or outcasts. Even Cayde-6 is looked upon by the other Vanguard as such...he argues with Eris. ...it's just the way we are...and we gladly wear the mantle (or cloak) of "the hated" proudly. It's like a kind of envy. ^_^

12 RepliesPeople don't pick on Hunters. They pick on HUNTARDS. They are their own little group of guardians (mostly made up on Hunters, tho some warlocks and, shamefully, some Titans are also Huntards), and all they do is whine and complain. They cry nerf on everything that kills them. And then when anything they want nerfed gets nerfed, the next thing that kills them is the next thing on the chopping block. One such example of Huntards at work is the Sunbreaker. They couldn't leave well enough alone, so they cried nerf and Bungie mistakenly listened. Now the Sunbreaker subclass is next to worthles now, Stormcallers are on the chopping block, awaiting execution, as a result of Huntards. Hope this clears things up for you. #TitanMasterRace

Out of all the taunts and most annoying opponents, the majority have generally been Hunters. That class is the asshole class, and it attracts a certain kind of player, and they're usually kind of annoying to play with. Although tbh, this is true of every class whenever they're "mained."

Hunters don't nerf anything neither do Titans or warlocks.. Bungie does the nerfs and no one else... If they honestly think Bungie reads those post about nerfs and buffs from anyone and they say "oh man this guys right! Let's nerf it" they're a lost cause... Bungie goes off of data they say it in every patch... Not people complaining on a forum lol

I really don't think it's a massive problem, but I could see the argument for them having certain advantages that other classes just don't have. I main a Titan and there's some times that I'm a little jealous at all the cool tools they have at their disposal. Nightstalker is just tailor made for quick evasion and situational awareness. And combining the smoke bomb with their regular grenade is pretty nuts for area denial as well as shutting down enemy movement.

1 ReplyThe crucible just seems overrun with them. It probably isn't, but it seems every time I die it is because of a hunter. Back in year 1 crucible was Thorn and hunters with max agility. I've hated them ever since. Although I actually play one now sometimes but not as my main :)

Well there are just slightly more Hunters than other classes. This mean a given Hunter is slightly more likely to be the author of a given toxic post. Also, there is the issue of the self fulfilling prophecy. The more a stigma is applied to a particular social group, the more the potential grows for that social group to grow into that stigma. Hunters tend to constantly be in a position where they feel they constantly need to justify their subclass choice as well due to various imbalances (weak and strong). Currently Nightstalkers have a KD over 1.1 (even though only 29% of Hunters are Nightstalkers compared to 38% being Gunslingers) and other players have felt that strength and are now demanding action. Bladedancers can't leave feedback about how crappy their hit detection is without people hating on blink etc.. Even though the post had nothing to do with that. I've even heard complaints on Gunslingers' throwing knives. The point is, it seems every subclass brings something for people attack Hunters about. The attacks, rather than constructive feedback, fuel the toxic minority in the Hunter world to be more vocal. It's a never ending cycle.
