The division is everything good about destiny with none of the bad.
If bungie doesn't go out of business from this destiny content fiasco, even tho destiny's 10 year plan will be scrapped, I hope they don't half ass their next IP

1 ReplyTo be fair, the fact that Destiny is still standing is impressive. Let's look at this closely, Destiny is in a horrible state. Crucible, meta, lack of content, etc. During this time, many games came out, and many on the forums claimed they would kill Destiny. Halo 5 Fallout 4 BO3 Star Wars Battlefront We're not counting the games that came out before TTK. It's not that I'm waiting for Destiny to die. I'm just waiting for how many games it takes to run this into the wall. Let's see if Division is another failed prophecy, or, for once, will actually put Destiny into the ground. Though it's unlikely.

3 RepliesHow does something die when it's not actually living?

6 RepliesRather reckless assertion that fails to take into account the realities of human behavior. Regardless of the divisions impending release, there still remains masses of casuals, children, and just plain stupid people to continue their patronage. I don't really see the point in attempting to prophesy destiny's downfall. I find it quite satisfactory just knowing that there are much better games, and I own many of them.

Really?- I just got off and there were alot ... I mean alot of folks on.. sooo... yeah .. you full of something. Tbag

3 RepliesYou know, all this pre-launch hype for the division seems strangely familiar to the destiny pre-launch hype. So I'm just gonna assume that the Division is going to end up being another over-hyped game that will end up being extremely fun to play, like destiny, but disappoint the people who were expecting too much.

Here we go again!

1 ReplyRemember the prelaunch hype for Destiny...?

Bungie has 4 wks to release a pve event worth doing. If not it 3 raids when I can be bothered and the division.

Nothing is going to "kill" destiny, and saying that implies destiny is special (It isn't). The Division isn't going to "kill" destiny any more than it'll "kill" Star Wars battlefront or Black ops 3.
-
But are they still doing the micro transactions?
-
Lol you guys kill me, destiny isn't dead nor is any one game gonna kill it. Of that was going to happen it would have happened a long time ago. But if you are going to leave don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out
-
2 Replieslol sorry but division is going to flop and die with the smell of rotting fish, even an idiot with eyes can see that when they watch the gameplay.
-
You don't know if it will keep your attention as long as destiny has. I also played the beta, but it won't kill destiny.
-
32 RepliesFor all you poor idiots hanging on to a dead game line destiny. Go check out the twitch streams for the Division. Literally 10s of thousand more people viewing than Destiny. This game is dead.
-
No it's not. The Division is an RPG with light shooting mechanics. Destiny is an FPS with RPG elements. Neither is an MMO but both want to be. Both happen to have a tiered loot system. Destiny is closer in design aesthetic to Diablo whereas Division is closer to something like Borderlands/Gears/Last of Us (not in presentation but design). Destiny is it's own amalgam of gameplay tropes and quirks and the Division is looking to be it's own animal as well. These games couldn't be more dissimilar and frankly I can't understand the incessant comparisons.
-
I have a feeling this is more of the makers of Division promoting their product or bitter Destiny players just posting this to cause a rumble in the current fan base. Hey if you like Division go find their forum and post there.

Edited by MatrixasISeeFit: 2/3/2016 4:54:57 AMI don't know about game killing and all that, but what I do know is the Division is very capable of acquiring many former Destiny players. The fanboys shouldn't be concerned with the Division anyway, they should be concerned about when they are going to get some quality content for Destiny. If that February announcement isn't about a very large paid DLC... Fanboys and Bungie will be screwed. You guys talk like Destiny is some massively successful juggernaut and it just isn't. GTA, COD and Madden fill those roles. Bungie is under the gun, make no mistake about that. The quality of the Division is the least of your worries, the quality of Destiny should garner the majority of your concerns.

180 RepliesEdited by Sideswipe: 1/31/2016 3:47:55 AMWe'll just add it to the long list of games that were supposed to kill Destiny: CoD:AW ESO MGS V FO4 CoD:BO3 SW:BF3 Witcher 3 And I'm sure I missed a couple... Edit: Halo 5 - how did I forget that one? Tells you how impressive that game was... Seems I ruffled a few feathers...lol EDIT after 75 replies: SMH No one seems to grasp the concept of what I'm saying. "Everyone" says Destiny is trash, it sucks, Bungie is the devil, etc ad nauseum. These haters have been claiming this "trash" game will die and waiting with bated breath with each new AAA title release. Sue, some of those games listed above may be "better", but Destiny is unique in that it offers enough for everybody who enjoys it still, even if only a limited fashion. Bungie is doing enough to keep to game going. Accept it.

The division beta was wack XD idk what you played to think destiny will die from it
-
2 RepliesPlayed the beta, and while I do rather like some elements of the division(dark zone, more tactical mechanics, true open world, going indoors and out to scavenge, etc,), it will not kill Destiny. Destiny has its own streangths players love it for(fast pace action, colorful weapons, lore, and enemies, beautiful and imaginative settings, great gun play, etc.). I personally think The Division will just serve as healthy competition for Bungie to make Destiny and Destiny 2 better. I hope both games do well in the market.
-
4 RepliesMan the division is going to be huge. It just has that special feeling like destiny did when it first released. But this one feels even bigger. They are even running out of space in a closed beta. Rip destiny.
-
Just cause you played a stupid game doesn't mean that another game is dead...
-
None of your post is accurate. The Division Beta was...good? Different, I think different is a good thing. It's not Destiny and shouldn't be compared to it. Even in the opening Beta "guide" voiced by one of the developers they refer to their game as an RPG.
-
1 ReplyGuys it official nobody gives a sh!t...

15 RepliesI could have sworn Black ops 3, Halo 5, Fallout 4, and battlefront were supposed to the what killed Destiny?
