And many more, destiny's first REAL competitor is going to blow it out of the water on March 8, 2016.
Tom Clancys The Divison
Feel free to google any of the above websites articles on The Division. They all say the same thing. Though destiny in its final form is a good game, it will be dethroned by The Division in every category possible. Gameplay, graphics, story, MMORPG, and the new mechanics it will have that destiny does not.
I loved destiny for a long time, but when the game is more of a grind than WoW, and each WAY overpriced DLC releases the previous WAY overpriced DLC is never played again because the names of the game decided it was best to make all its rewards irrelevant and therefore undesirable to play, all the PVE glitches and PVP lag and cheats, it's just not as replay able as it once was.
I've logged close to 1,000 hours, but I haven't played more than 30minutes a week in months.
The Division will be a new era. The first competitor in the new game genre that destiny has created. And everyone from alpha to early beta testers and all the interviews in between are saying this game will blow destiny away.
I'm a destiny day one player, but I'm excited to replace destiny with a game to dump all my hours into again.
Read spoiler to see a quote from bungie employee about how they AGREE that destiny will die!!
In December 2015, Bungie community manager Eric Osborne addressed concerns there "won't be any more substantial content until [the studio ships] another full game, or that all of the content for the rest of Year Two will come in the form of timed events."
Also, from the same article:
The release schedule indicated a new entry in the series would be launched in September 2016, but this is no longer the case according to a report from Kotaku. Citing sources "familiar with goings-on at the studio," the site reports "plans for Destiny's future are constantly in flux" and "just last week higher-ups at Bungie delayed Destiny 2 out of this September."
So there you have it. Bungie themselves have no plans to expand their already dying game. And the division, the FIRST game actually in the category/game genre as destiny (unlike fallout, cod, battlefront, etc.), comes out in just a month and some days. Everyone get hyped. Bungie gave a reason to get off their train, and Ubisoft is giving us a new boarding pass. :)
Also, Xbox1 Master Race FTW so... Yeah.

Yeah sure the division ha this guy articulate's my thoughts on the division entirely. Meh
-
Maybe, maybe not. Who knows. Probably not, but possibly I guess
-
Unless Bungie and Activision go out of business on that day, nothing will kill Destiny. Take some of the online players away? Sure. But kill it? No.
-
I applaud you, sir. This pile of dog shit is finally going to be put to rest. RIP VOG, I will always remember you.
-
2 RepliesI like it but have concerns about pvp and endgame content. Dont see it as a destiny killer but more like a alternative to the grind...be nice to switch between the 2
-
The fact that every game is immediately compared to destiny and talked about as a destiny killer means that destiny isn't dead and probably won't die. The games player base will dwindle to its dedicated players like every other game that's released.
-
I don't get the division hype or the comparison to destiny. The beta was kinda fun but it seems way to based on pvp for end game. The gun mechanics are ehh at best. Destiny at least has amazing gun play going for it.
-
You'll all come running back you know you will ;)
-
Destiny will die
-
YES IT WILL DIE, I am looking forward to it because Bungie brought it on themselves!!!!
-
It won't "die" but the player base drop will increase.
-
Unlikely.
-
that's what they said about Halo... Cod black ops, Divison? whatever you say kid Keep dreaming You're nothing to the community
-
Dude thousands if not millions play destiny there will always be people playing
-
Yeah, that game is trash.
-
4 RepliesEvery time a new game comes out, its the one that's going to take Destiny out, just shows how high up Destiny is held. Every one always wants to beat the top dog.

Edited by ThisMahSwamp: 2/1/2016 8:32:36 PM
And everyone from alpha to early beta testers and all the interviews in between are saying this game will blow destiny away.
Oh this is rich! Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Not so much the "this will kill Destiny" part, but the hype? My goodness, you folks never learn do you? Keep on hyping the everliving shit out of every damn game only to be let the -blam!- down. Then you come hobbling back to the damn forums crying!?!?!

1 ReplyFor those of you who played the beta without a group I just want to advise you to find a group. It's a way different game then playing solo.
-
1 ReplyThe biggest threat to destiny is bungie.
-
destiny will not die because u dnt have to try hard to do good,
-
Shit been dead since November.
-
Go play the division and delete all your Destiny characters. No? I thought so.
-
Thank you for your update.
-
2 RepliesYur mum will die March 8th
-
My favorite part is the "first REAL" competitor. All the other games that failed to "kill" Destiny obviously weren't "real" competitors. Seems legit =)

2 RepliesGame critics are similar to movie critics. Remember titanics hype machine? I thought that movie sucked. I'll wait and see.
