I'm a year two player so I am not judging the fatebringer because I have no authority to do so. But I would love to know why it is so special. Cuz I see it as a regular legendary hand cannon. What did it feel like to make it so popular

Firefly pre nerf Arc burn 12 rounds Outlaw The perks complimented each other extremely well It was a pve God for clearing tier one mobs Meaning you could use special and heavy for majors/ultras
-
now, nothing. 6 months ago, everything.

Do the Lamps on CE solo with just a Fatebringer. Watch them fall by the wayside.
-
What isn't?
-
If you ever had firefly as a perk on a weapon, you'd start to understand. Add to that arc burn which is 50% of shields in year one. It helped tear through mobs especially before hand cannon's got nerfed.

Best gun in the game. Imagine the Imago Loop with arc, outlaw, and firefly. I used the Fatebringer in every VoG abdCrota Raid run. Fast reload and good damage. Gun is prime. - Whiskey 328

Unfortunately you missed its hay day brother . PVE it was a beast. Almost always ran Fatebringer, Blackhammer and Gjallahorn.

Awesome, should have been there!

Go get one, it's still great for year one content. I did today's bounties using fatebringer, found verdict and gjallarhorn.

1 ReplyWhen handcannons where the shit and you could make precision kills easy that with outlaw also firefly cuz never enough damage and explosive rounds cuz you know explosion killing even more ads :p
-
Yeah man... only year one players understand
-
It was an arc gun with firefly and outlaw. That meant whenever you got a crit kill the enemy explosion did arc damage AND gave you an almost instant relod

Back in its day it was the best hand cannon legendary that could have been an exotic. It was great because you could pair it with gally

2 RepliesEdited by InSaiyanRogue: 1/13/2016 6:52:59 PMThe name does more than define the gun, the gun was the very embodiment of the name. It was also one of a very few arc burn primaries and it had firefly which made it a very coveted gun. I personally loved it, I know people who preferred vision of confluence but ultimately fatebringer was THE pve gun in fact it probably deserved to be exotic at its height (ace of spades), now I look at it with fond memories and nostalgia. I often think about dusting it off but I never do, I remember it's glory, it's power, it's large mag size and the fast reload speed, I remember the times it got me through, the strikes, the raids, hell I even took it into Pvp occasionally, forever on my hunters hip there to bring the fate of my enemy to a close. Now it's a shadow of its former self, nerfed into the dirt by bungie with the hand cannon "fix", never to be the same again.

Just look at the perks
-
High damage, RoF, reload oh yeah and a primary with elemental burn. You know that thing that no longer exists. Anyone that did a nightfall with arc basically wrecked the world
-
Ideal stats and handling. Ideal perks. Elemental damage. There were other weapons that competed for the crown (mainly, Vision of Confluence and Fang of Ir Yut), but it was awesome.

I stock piled bounties on all characters before reset just in case I got it, so I could level that bitch up in no time at all. When you ran with peeps using it, and you didn't have it, you were always jealous. IT DID WORK! And most of all it was so much fun to use.

You'll never truly know.
