Some guy keeps telling me shotguns take more skill and I just can't wrap my head around it.
Edit: He said my poll was biased. What????????

Edited by C-Sentinel: 1/14/2016 12:54:11 PMRegular Crucible, snipers. Trials, shotgun. Trials is a mode you want stay safe. Even If you die you want it to be in a place where your teammates can get an easy res. Blink shotgun is no longer viable, and TLW makes it easier than ever to counter shotguns. To pull off a good shotgun rush in trials, where death could screw over the rest of your team, takes more skill. People say snipers because there is such a large skill gap. You can be bad, decent, good, or extremely good with a sniper. A shotgun it's either good or bad.

5 RepliesTo use a shotgun: left thumb stick forward+ trigger+ bum rush= (in my opinion) no skill Snipers: camping in one spot all game= no skill Snipers: running around changing positions frequently getting good/fair snipes off= skill

3 RepliesEdited by Tomnipotent: 1/14/2016 10:50:11 AMAll the comments say shotguns but the polls say snipers. Sniping will always take more skill than shotgunning. Most of my crucible kills from each character comes from sniper rifles but when i get frustrated and I wanna tryhard i can pick up a shotgun and simply destroy with it. Why do people think using a close ranged 1hko weapon in a game with maps that heavily favors close ranged combat is hard? Yall are acting like these maps are as big as battlefield maps. If you're saying getting around these maps to close in on your opponent WHEN YOU HAVE A RADAR TO HELP YOU DO IT takes more skill than landing headshots then you're a lost cause tbh.

1 ReplyFusions.
-
I'd say it's fairly even.
-
Tell him he is biased.
-
Shotguns take the least amount of skill in the game.
-
7 RepliesNo Land Beyond. I've been working on using it in Crucible but it's a bitch. -blam!- The Master, they need Unflinching.
-
Shotguns take more skill now than before. Because of the range nerf it's very important to know how to move around the map without getting sniped. In my opinion...they both take skill at this point.

Side arm
-
Shotguns require skill on certain maps in certain scenarios, just not 6v6
-
It would be better to compare fusions to shotguns... Fusion would win...

Fusion rifles

Fusion rifles

3 RepliesShotguns, but hey people will always say snipers.
-
I voted shotgun. I get kills easier with sniper
-
1 ReplyI just feel like jumping in the water is a little more dangerous than watching from the dock
-
Anyone who voted either of them should slam their head on a rock. Each have their advantages and disadvantages

Edited by HD-TMR: 1/14/2016 7:30:07 AMWhy is there no pillow option??

1 ReplyIt depends on the situation. Hard Scoping at door takes absolutely no skill. But, then again, camping by a door with shotgun also doesn't. If used strategically, both can take the same amount of skill as shotguns need great reaction time and reflexes while snipers need good aim.
-
Shotguns easily
-
How is there even doubt to this
-
At their point, you're rolling dice on either option.

29 RepliesPretty much everyone commenting says "neither" or acknowledges how risky/difficult/much skill is required to get up close and personal to get a shotgun kill. So, yes, shotguns. The poll reflects the current state of Destiny weapon usage. Roughly 75% main snipers and 25% or less main shotguns. Anyone here will acknowledge how EZMODE sniping is in Destiny compared to other games, whereas shotguns actually perform more poorly in Destiny compared to other games. That being said, fusions FTW. Most skill required, most fun, and most nerfed.

3 RepliesSnipers = aim and shoot Shotguns = slide and shoot, shoot and melee, blink and shoot, jump and shoot People that use shotguns effectively use them in combination with maneuvers. People that snipe effectively take advantage of sticky aim (aim assist) and many are using keyboard and mouse to drag. Both take time to master.

3 RepliesShotguns require strong understanding of enemy positions and quick reflexes for effective flanking. Sniping is way easier in comparison. However, crouching behind a door with a shotgun takes no skill at all.
