Why Sparrow Racing Was Mismarketed as Skill, When it's all Luck
The SRL was marketed as taking skill and only rewarding the best sparrow drivers out there.
This is not true.
Sparrow Racing rewards those lucky enough to push someone out of a boost gate. That's it. No skill.
I'd win all my races if sparrows didn't have collision. I always have the early lead, but with the person tailing behind? They start to bump into the back of my sparrow which sends it careening off into the wild.
It's ridiculous how many races I lost to luck and not skill.
What do you think? Should collision be turned off?

It is strategy. The game, as it exists, includes collision detection. Maybe in the future they will have a straight speed game mode, solo racing for times, but this mode is not it. I often allow the other five to get a head start. Doing so gives me wide gates and clear paths for 2 laps. I am no pro at racing (18 wins total) but I've been learning to adapt. It is no different than clash vs control. Different game modes. And personally, I hope they DO add more types of races, not just death battles.

1 ReplyYou serious? I know bumping is annoying but it's not always luck, when I have a head start and no one is next to me I stay in first. I even get bumped a lot and still come in first.

it takes skill luck factors in real racing too but in slr its lag who's lucky to have the strongest connection is the only thing that takes luck lmao
