Ditch Fireborn, don't be scared.
This raid has made me positive on one thing. Self-Rez Warlocks are almost always the weak link in a fireteam. If you play like you always have a second chance, you play sloppy. You can't save yourself or make up for your bad, natural decisions when that super isn't charged.
My clan raid group wasn't on last night so I spent 7 hours at Oryx with 4 different LFG fireteams making this decision. After seeing ___________ has self-resurected every round I think my theory is sound. Sunsinger is a crutch for the weak in this raid.

Edit : I keep hearing "Self-Rez is for those oh shit moments." Titans and hunters some how deal with oh shit moments not needing Self-Rez because we have learned to not get ourselves into those situations = better players.
Edit 2 : As for the 2 grenades for ogres argument. One decent Titan with Blessing of Light and Touch of Malice can handle ogres by themselves. Highest level Titan should always be top platform on ogre duty.
Edit 3 : I'm not saying a Warlock has never saved my ass before in a raid, they haven't in this one but past raids sure. My whole point is I believe Warlocks take unnecessary risks because they have that get out of jail card in their back pocket.
Last edit then I'm done with this : Every Warlock argument starts with "WHEN I die...." case closed.
OK OK OK I get it. Self-Rez is the best ever and the most valuable Sub-class Warlocks have. Sunsingers need to simmer down, quit getting so hot under the collar, any other solar pun I can think of, and realize this was an opinion based off of a horrible night of raiding with apparently the only Warlocks that play Destiny that Self-Rez every 5 seconds until they can't. #WarlockSuperAwesomeMasterRaceOfAllRacesPeriod!!!!
Lastly, and everyone pay attention, JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE POSTS AN OPNION DOESN'T MAKE IT DESTINY LAW! There is something strange about the fact that people are trying desperately to prove their worth to, more than likely, myself or a bunch of people they don't know or will never raid with. Probably just a little hidden guilt and shame on Fireborn user's part. If someone posts that Defender bubble is useless in a raid, I keep scrolling because I understand fully that they are indeed an asshole. I hope Warlocks revive their body fluids when they Self-Rez because they are getting hella dehydrated from all the tears flowing.

By the way, my Ward of Dawn helps the entire team through the whole raid, not just myself when I die or that rare chance when the whole team dies and you finish a hard raid boss by yourself as it seems Warlocks do on an hourly basis. Contribute some orbs and clear some ADS you selfish, Self-Rez space bitches.

Titan is 100 percent, the best class in this raid, with hunter being decent, and warlocks being decent for add control and add control only. A self rez will just disrupt most mechanics. Titans have weapons, and can potentially do the jumping on oryx the fastest. Hunters have shadow shot, which is decent. But the bubbles titans have are irreplaceable

Instead of complaining to warlock mains about self rez(you had a bad team BTW). Complain to Bungie for not giving us a real support super like titans and hunters have. Also would you prefer the Titans and hunters die instead and have to constantly wipe?

Il say this although I haven't spent a fraction of the same time on my warlock as I have with my Titan and hunter i agree to some extent. With my hunter and Titan running a raid on hard I play smarter knowing that I can't die or il hinder myself and the team so I die less. Where as when I'm playing my warlock I'm thinking no need to worry I've got my Rez personally I think all this hate on warlocks and calling them useless are nothing more then opinions. There is no best class type or best sub class. It's all situational and what you have available at the moment.

1 ReplyI agree with this I used to main a Warlock and very rarely did I go down but in this raid all I see are self res warlocks dying because they pushed to far on wp or gorgoroth there's no reason to do that btw and then a minute or two later I hear" guardian down" same Warlock shit I don't have a res, point he is trying to make don't play so recklessly just because you have a second chance doesn't mean you waste it because you may need it soon after..and you shouldn't rely on your res so much.

And yet my friends and I can clear the raid in an hour or less as all Sunsingers. Class doesn't matter, skill does.

1 ReplyHere's why you don't use self revive: While I'm on a different class generating tons of orbs, you're never using your super, hurting the team. Then you die and revive, and all my beautiful orbs were wasted because you can't pick them up. Then you die again before your super is back. Use a super that clears enemies, it's not there for a just incase type moment. It's an integral part of the game so use it in an efficient manner for you AND your team

Titans and Hunters deal with oh sh!t moments by dying...you want to know how many wipes are due to a titan/hunter dying on hard mode? Again, there are just as many retarded titans and huntards in any herd of players. Whether they'd use their ability to their benefit is up to individual players. Do sunsingers play more recklessly when they have self-rez? OF COURSE. Why wouldn't we? We can rez if we die...what's the big f8king deal. You can hide behind cover while I DPS the boss more. You miss a bomb bc you left too early fearing not getting to the middle fast enough. You can hide behind your invis grenades and your bubble while I kill all the f8king ads. The whole point of self-rez is for situations where death = great penalty i.e. hard mode where death = really bad. You want to know how to cheese ORYX...have 3 warlocks in your party lol. you have a 50% chance that any given death = not a f8king problem and not a wipe.

Doing hard mode last bomb phase 2 people dead. I was the floater, we just staggered Oryx. The orb I'm going after is at the door you come in. I get a foot from the aura and die. I get to come back dps oryx and me and the other 3 people beat oryx. The 4 guardians left alive were sunslingers hunter and titan were dead.

7 RepliesWhen's the last time you had to wipe because a warlock died? Most wipes tend to happen because a Titan or hunter screwed up, if you wipe 5 times on a boss I can tell you now it wasn't because a warlock died it was because a Titan or hunter did. Mistakes happen ass whole, no reason for us not to have a backup plan
