Killed Oryx with 20 Moldering Shards..
...And didn't get an extra reward, but yet still redeemed my 20 Moldering Shards, has this happened to anyone else? It's weird because yesterday as my Hunter I beat Oryx with 20 Moldering Shards again and got Skyburners Annex, Darkhollow Chiton, and Doom of Chelchis. But today with my Titan it redeemed 20 Moldering Shards and only gave me chest piece..

Killed oryx without 20 mouldering shards. And I got a better drop then I would with them 308 scout 310 Monte Carlo Shards Heavy ammo Lol

Everytime I killed Oryx with 20 shards I hit something. So no problem on my end.

Shards drop as a rewards from Oryx. So, 2 shards was your first reward, and then you got the chest from the extra reward. Exotics are separate from that, which is why your hunter had the exotic in there as a third reward.

8 RepliesI dunno why everyone is so surprised by this. Are you seriously telling me you never had just shards and energy drop from Atheon and Crota on normal? Its just how the raids have always been. Having mouldering shards doesn't guarantee a good drop, it just adds another possible drop, which has the same chance of being crap as every other raid drop.

Yeah, I got two moldering shards for killing oryx so when I did it on my Titan I got past the daughters then deleted 26 moldering shards before I beat oryx.

3 RepliesThis is ridiculous. How can you get extra molding shards by USING MOLDERING SHARDS? I don't want to be a complaining fgt but if trials is bull crap I might pull the plug on destiny, I've already taken multiple breaks from it. Seems like all I'll be playing is Warframe, dark souls, and mortal combat while I wait for dark souls 3. A game SHOULD NEVER FEEL LIKE A CHORE.

Yeah I did it the other day. Used my 20 shards. And didn't get a single weapon or piece of armor I got 2 shards in place of the 20. The loot table in this raid is horrible

The minimum to get from oryx is 2 shards. Thus your only reward was the extra one

The way I understand it is the shards simply grant you the chance to get loot from the entire raid and not just the Oryx loot table. I get boned a lot too. On my lock I got mats and boots, but boots wouldn't normally drop from Oryx.

Joined a raid on my warlock..mean while I haven't beaten many of the quests on him(Hunter is my main) I joined a random fire team with no shards..they beat oryx and left my ghost there so I just watched..when they beat him they revived me I got a 309 full auto scout and a 305 hand cannon

Done it twice with 20 shards and received an antiquated rune and my 4th pair of boots can't get the chest piece to save my life

Did it with my hunter with 20 shards the other night, got an antiquated rune and 2 shards!!!! It does work sometimes though, first time I completed it I had 20 shards and had the auto, pulse and hand cannon drop from him in one go
