(ANY WEAPON YOU GET AWARDED AFTER YOU COMPLETE THE BOUNTY IN THE TOWER/REEF)
Why?
Because you are actively working to get said weapon, and 100% know that you will get it once the bounty is complete.
If you're relying on RNG to INSTANTLY get a weapon, it's not earned, it's given.
Props to everyone who is skilled enough to get all of the Vanilla Destiny Exotic bounty Exotics.
Hopefully, ALL exotics will have to be earned through a bounty, come TTK.
Then we will see who the real guardians are.

7 RepliesNo the only weapons you truly "earn" or those bought from Xur or vendors such as Vanguard and Crucible. How you ask? Well you have to grind to get enough strange coins or get enough crucible marks to buy those things. Now that's earning.

The quests are random drops though so you don't really earn them only exotic guns you really earn are necrocasm and vex

What if all exotics had bounties. So when doing crucible or raids you got exotic bounties instead of just exotics. How good would that be.

Guns that do not require any RNG are: Khostov Murmur Vestian Dynasty Faction Vendor weapons Iron Banner (buyable only) House of Judgement and Trials Weapons (ones you buy only)

Wait a RANDOM Mentor Missive drop counts as earning? You don't EARN shit and that mentality is what has killed some of the best MMOs around (and is leaking into other games now due to their adoption of MMO-style loot systems). You get a RANDOM DROP (the weapon, armor, or bounty) which has no bearing on your skill, dedication, or effort. If you feel like the your effort and time somehow EARN you something than you are no longer playing games for the right reason and need to take the time to stop and rethink your source of entertainment.

Only the PoE weapons can only be earned. The rest are ether super easy or can be cheesed

Vex, necrochasm. You have to get to Crota bane rank 4 to get the embalming orb to get Eidlon ally then rank up that gun all the way and then beat Crota hard mode enough times to get the crux. And IMO it is the most difficult if the things listed.

Throw the Necro and Vex in that list. Especially the Necro, the necro was essentially an RNG bounty
