Well last night my friend and I wanted to do a 34 Poe before the reset so we posted and we found someone. The game changed dramatically... My friend and i are both 34s and he was a 33. We didn't mind we've carried people before so we like a little challenge (not that it ever is). We were in fact carried by this new guardian we had found. He had never finished a 34 Poe coz people would always kick him for not being a 34!! He did much better than we had thought he could have done. We then asked why he was using an average scout rifle and not a fang or vision. His response shocked us. He had never done a raid!! We asked why and he said he would always get kicked because he hasn't done it before.. I slightly cried a little and then we made him join our clan and did raids with him. Sadly didn't get him a fatebringer but he was more than ecstatic when he got his black hammer :)!
I Just hate how this community puts people down and doesn't give people chances. He is possibly in the top 10 players I've met and now he is a friend im going to help through all raids and Poes he needs!!!
Edit: I can't believe how many people actually agree!! I honestly thought I would have been hit with all negative comments but I gladly want to play the game more and more wth you great guardians. I ask we just help those who aren't given a chance :) keep up the loving

I'm gonna bump this because it's not only a good story, but the kind of thing I wish I read more of on this forum. This toxic, toxic forum that you just made a little better. Well done!

I've been getting a lot of that lately to. Last couple of times I ran Roc strikes (don't have HoW yet), I've heard people complaining that I don't have any raid gear; "how good could I possibly be?" By the end, I'm usually on top of the board by a good margin. I haven't been able to get raids done mainly because I don't have a lot time and I'm on at odd hours when most people are leaving.

Don't let the loud minority of this game get you down. These trollbot, teabagging, degrading 15 year olds make up a fraction of the community.
-
Can I join in for some fun? ;) i like helping people out too
-
I haven't done any raids ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Awesome stuff!

When my friend and I get bored we go scavenging on the forums looking for newbies to help with raids. Helped three level 24's through a vog normal and a 30 who had no clue what the hell he was doing.

I luv you

I've done two raids, both VoG normal

Keep being an awesome player! I'll never turn down a fellow Guardian of they're willing to give it a good go. The community needs more Guardians like you.

2 RepliesI didn't play Halo but my brother and cousin did and I noticed that Bungie games were full of dick heads.

Yea a lot of ppl are like that. 3 weeks ago I was playing around where you start the VoG raid, and a fireteam shows up doing the raid. Didn't think much about cause I was doing my own thing. Got a nasty mail telling me to get lost a**hat. I was like wtf did I do. Ppl are not nice when ppl like me do nothing. Yea wish I could of played seeing it was only 5 of them but still hurt.

6 RepliesI have never done raid. I have about 150hrs

Who is this guardian she speaks of?
-
I once invited a random guy patrolling Venus to join our 4 man fireteam runing the VoG (my brother chased after him, danced with him and sent a second invite before he accepted). My brother and I were already sherpa-ing a real life friend who had never done it and helping my roommate who had only done it once months before; we figured why not invite that guy. He didn't figure out how to join the PS chat until my brother jumped into in game chat to explain after we beat the Templar. (We figured we shouldn't attempt the Gorgon maze with a deaf teammate who clearly had no clue what he was doing.) Turns out he had never done the raid, because he had no one to play with and didn't know about the forums or LFG. Atheon was a bit of a struggle when all three newbies got teleported, and none knew how to run relic; fortunately my roommate was in the same room with our tvs adjacent - we managed to complete it in two tries. Moral of the story, you don't need everyone to be experienced if you have a couple who are, and they are willing to explain the mechanics.
