So last night I found someone pretty rare I think
Well last night my friend and I wanted to do a 34 Poe before the reset so we posted and we found someone. The game changed dramatically... My friend and i are both 34s and he was a 33. We didn't mind we've carried people before so we like a little challenge (not that it ever is). We were in fact carried by this new guardian we had found. He had never finished a 34 Poe coz people would always kick him for not being a 34!! He did much better than we had thought he could have done. We then asked why he was using an average scout rifle and not a fang or vision. His response shocked us. He had never done a raid!! We asked why and he said he would always get kicked because he hasn't done it before.. I slightly cried a little and then we made him join our clan and did raids with him. Sadly didn't get him a fatebringer but he was more than ecstatic when he got his black hammer :)!
I Just hate how this community puts people down and doesn't give people chances. He is possibly in the top 10 players I've met and now he is a friend im going to help through all raids and Poes he needs!!!
Edit: I can't believe how many people actually agree!! I honestly thought I would have been hit with all negative comments but I gladly want to play the game more and more wth you great guardians. I ask we just help those who aren't given a chance :) keep up the loving

If we don't teach the new guys how to run VOG then they will always believe you need to be Lvl 34 with Gjallarhorn to do it lol. I remember beating hard VOG with 1 Gjallarhorn and 5 snipers...those were the good ol' days. Oh we had 3 30's and 3 29's...the struggle they will never understand.

1 ReplyThis is why they created Grimoire scores. Next time you want to judge a player, check out their score. That's what proves the skill of a player, since you can't get above 2800 without skill and determination to collect the best weapons and armor, and use those weapons and armor to rack up thousands of kills in both PvP and PvE.

Good one guys. All my friends that I play destiny were complete randoms. I was carried once and now I carry people if need be. Attitude is much more important then how great you think you are.

I just want to say that if with the new level caps its really easy to get to at least 32 and the highest raid difficulty is 32 so even if you haven't done it if you're at least the level of the difficulty then I'll even show you if you need to

Spirit of the game. I've encountered similar - a kid asking if we would boot him because he's a kid at a slightly lower level. I told him just play your best and listen to direction in case he's repeatedly getting killed. He did great. Now we drink regularly with Master Rahool and loiter in the Tower checking out all the drag queens as they hit the vault and postmaster.

Would get booted as soon as i told them that i didn't have a gally as well. Now i get invites all the time as a titan 34 defender and i just ignore them as i have learnt how to work my way around this. It takes time but now i have a hunter 32 and a warlock 31. Nightfalls and poe have become my best friends. I would also get booted when one of there friends came online. Still havent completed crota or vog although I have been playing since beta. Derp

This is how our clan formed basically. It started with one guy scavenging facebook groups for good players and after a while we had a good team... If there where more people like you, destiny would be a better space to be in :)

1 ReplyPeople in this community annoys me a lot. They get pissed when you dont have a certain gun, or finnished a raid/poe and dont give new players a chance. Also when you dont beat a boss in under two tries and people start leaving... that really really really pisses me off. I am like you and love helping new comers to the game and offering advice/ guidance. I wish more people could be nice and help out "newbies" to the game, because their the only way this game is going to keep growing.

The other day I was leveling my second titan, and at level 11 or so, I encountered a pack of Wolves with a random lvl 33 player. I obviously couldn't damage the enemies, and idk if he looked at my grimoire or thought I was new, but he kept trying to give me the scorch cannon and reviving me and it was nice to see someone trying to help a "new" guardian. And yes I know even a scorch cannon in my hands won't hurt the enemies at that level, I was using it to make the captains lock up and crouch and my flash bang grenade to blind enemies so the guy didn't get swarmed lol. We made it through eventually
