Edited by Kovathos: 6/28/2015 4:04:26 PMNo they shouldn't. Everything that happens in real life doesn't need to be celebrated in some way in everything else. I don't care if bungie does, I'm just saying that they don't need to. Games are also supposed to be an escape from reality. I don't need to be reminded about the real world all the time that I'm playing a game.

2 RepliesAs a gay male, I don't want a celebration, shader, any special treatment, or etc. I just want to play my game and have fun.
-
2 RepliesI just hope we hear less about it now. What goes on in other people's bedrooms doesn't concern me.
-
This game has a much wider audience than just the US, nit sure it makes sense to do that
-
11 RepliesOr they could not because things like that have nothing to do with destiny. If not Christmas or thanksgiving then why this? This is the problem...people putting things where they shouldn't belong. It's is a MMORPGFPS, and has nothing to do with the outside world. Now if bungie as a company wanted to do something that's ok but keep it out of the game...
-
5 RepliesWhy? I'd rather them do something for the unnamed probe reaching Pluto. More interesting.
-
No they shouldn't

I like lesbians lol.
-
Nooooooooooooooooooo

2 RepliesIt doesn't affect the whole world, only America. It would be silly if they did.

7 RepliesHonestly gay people are gonna save this planet. Overpopulation is a serious matter, and gay people are the most humane solution to this issue. But of course then you have these Christian famalies having 5+ children that basicly counteract that

Or like a tight pair of hunter pants so you'd know who to immediately boot from your team.

It's great they finally made a meaningful decision. But it doesn't belong in Destiny. That said, it looks like there's still plenty of hate here. I wouldn't wear pride gear in case some small-minded and self-absorbed fireteam leaders would kick me from their team.

Edited by Fantom: 6/28/2015 3:58:49 PMPOLITICS AND GAMING HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACHOTHER LEAVE IT OFF THE FORUMS!!!

25 RepliesEdited by killgore3: 6/28/2015 3:04:30 PMCelebrate unity. Why not? Others being homosexual affects straight people how exactly? Yet greater unity is good for everybody. Quit hating. Dummies hate. Yer hating on love , how dafuq does that make sense. It doesn't , in any way, it's so obvious.

You're a moron.

1 ReplyShould stop putting a label on it when I got married I didn't invite people to my "straight" wedding Nor did I call it a heterosexual mariage if the goal is to be treated equally than stop labeling things most people could care less and the ones who are against it can just be left out

Shut the -blam!- up

That's a stupid idea. Why celebrate the breakdown of morality?

1 ReplyI'm very happy for the gay community, thrilled even. It's about time our nation stopped controlling something that shouldn't have been a problem or controlled to begin with. Who are we to say who can get married or not? Does it affect the lives of others? I think not. However, bungie has "more important" things to attend to than current events that have nothing to do with the game. Things such as patching glitches, updates and other maintenance. Considering how long it's taking them to create the shader and emblem for their relief campaign (also has nothing to do with the game, hypocritical subject matter, I know) my feeling is this kind of stuff drains too much of their time and effort. Do I think bungie should have a small team for this kind of stuff? Absolutely! Do I think they should be able to add shaders based on all kinds of real work themes (police shader, country flag shaders, sports team shaders, etc). Totally! But they don't, and personally I would rather they fix this great but broke as hell game rather than add things that spread their employees thinner than they need to be. TL:DR Just move along, nothing to read here.

5 RepliesEdited by SulkyVirus: 6/28/2015 1:53:56 PMAnyone claiming that there should be special shader for this do not understand what the court decision really does. As other have stated, this historic day has granted equal rights under the Constitution for same sex couples. Now even though certain entities are celebrating pride and the court decision, these are mostly in the US. Bungie is a worldwide company that doesn't cater to the needs of one country. In the past months, many other countries have also passed their amendments allow equal rights to all sexual orientations. Signifying gay pride with a shader defeats the purpose since there was no shader given out to other countries, since there's no shader given for any other minority celebrations such as black history month, and since political events have no place in a gaming world. Now, if the Constitution was changed in a way that would significantly affect video games or Bungie then that would be means for a in game celebration. I'm pretty sure Bungie learned it's lesson when they released the Halloween items and many were not pleased.

Destiny should not celebrate any real world events. Only Destiny events. The Destiny reality will have its own in world calendar and associated events that should be celebrated.
Who gives a shit if you're gay or straight, stop shoving your sexual preferences in everyone's face. It's a game, why bring politics, religion or sexuality into it? It's supposed to be an escape from the real world and all it's bullshit.
Only if we can do something to celebrate straight marriage too!
