So more information on taken king just leaked.
Yep it's gonna cost 40 bucks.
Thank you bungie for taking a game with HALF the story line and story telling of halo 1, and making it cost THREE times as much.

Halo 1 didn't really have an amazing story, it was only unique because of being a well marketed game, like Destiny. The Halo universe didn't get a proper history until Halo 2 and even then it was pretty thin. Halo and Destiny, for story, have nothing on games like Half-Life and or even Unreal.

Well no it isn't but put into you're head the price of the base game And if you're like me and a lot of people you bought a next-gen system for destiny, now a ps4 is about 300 bucks.. For everyone who doesn't know destiny is going to have more dlc so lets add that up. Next-gen comsole - 300 dollars (may vary) Destiny - 60 dollars The dark below - 20 dollars House of wolves - 20 dollars Taken king - 40 dollars ( not confirmed ) Vex void - 20 dollars ( not confirmed ) Forge of gods - 20 ( not confirmed) the witcher 3 launched with 80% more content than destiny and has 4 "FREE" expansion packs on the way.. See my point ? ( and yes we will be getting 2 other dlc besides taken king.. The names could change but thats the names we know so far..) You will have already spent 480 dollars on this game.. Believe me its just not worth it, with you also spending 50 bucks a year for online membership, its just insane I'm sorry Before you call me a hater i want you to know destiny is my favorite game.. I play a lot i have all three 34's check out my profile. Im just saying its really crazy how much money we will have to spend on a game bungie took 7 years to work on then promised us things that are locked on disc that we have to pay to access.. Its a shame and a sham. I love bungie.. I love their work.. But i will not spend that much money on this game I'm sorry.. I really looked forward to playing and loving destiny but i see now it was too good to be true.

14 RepliesThe DLC will have a new Raid based around Oryx, 3 new subclasses, several strikes, more than 10 story missions, a new explorable area, a new enemy race, and 6 new PVP maps. Oh and don't forget about multiple exotics that will most likely be released with it (ones that haven't been named yet, I'm just assuming). Plus, ps exclusives becoming available to xbox. Not only will it have all of that, but I'm sure there will be a couple more surprises as well. Sounds like this one is worth the money they will be asking for.

We're going to have to max everything again aren't we? Etheric Light only maxes stuff for highest level in 'Year 1'. I imagine this new expansion comes out just a year after Destiny's release date.

It'll have as much content activity-wise as vanilla Destiny so I don't have a problem.

Bungie has been giving out all this free content and such. What makes anyone think that these new subclasses won't be available to everyone once the next DLC drops? Other than raid gear, almost all other gear sets will be available to people that don't buy the DLC. So what, exactly, are people paying for?

10 RepliesEdited by JHarv: 6/10/2015 4:08:30 AMI'm not so much worried about the cost as I am having them set a trend of just holding off on releasing things because they know we'll pay for it later. we shouldn't really tolerate it, but we do, because people say "well it's not that expensive, really" that's the wrong way to approach it. all of this that we have now, we should have had at release. then future dlc should have included more. expansions should be exactly that. expanding on the story. it's like telling you to buy a book but only getting 3 chapters and having to buy each future chapter one at a time. they had the book ready to give to you, but decided not to because it's cheaper for them to avoid creating new stuff, and can cash in on you buying all of the "additional" stuff that really wasn't additional at all. it was all part of what should have been in the original package. i know that a lot of development and changes are always implemented, but they straight up had all of these world areas and zones ready to play, but just locked us out of it so they could sell it back to us, later. i'm not sure i'm ok with that.

Halo 1 you literately come in at the middle of the story, no explanation and are attacked by the covenant that you know nothing of or why they are attacking you. How did you learn the back story of Halo, it's races, and why all the wars began? Buying $20 books that contained the info or look up things on wikipedia (sound familiar?)

I love how the total price of all their DLC are more than the vanilla game itself. And tbh the vanilla game is really just VoG, iron banner, 3 or 4 strikes, and the devil you know.
