...from hero to zero in one week. Last week’s announced changes made just about everybody happy & then you went ahead and revealed Trials of Osiris. You alienated a ton of PvE gamers by not allowing matchmaking for Raids and Nightfall’s, including me (hate me all you want for having never done a raid), & now you’re doing it to the PvP players. There’s absolutely no reason not to have matchmaking for Trials of Osiris, it’s just a standard elimination mode gamers have played a thousand times before. Can anybody here honestly say that they've never played an elimination type mode in Counter-Strike, Gears of War, Rainbow Six, COD, Socom, etc? All of those games (and many more) were able to successfully incorporate matchmaking, why not Destiny? Will you inevitably be put on some bad teams while facing off against skilled fireteams? Yes, but it should be our choice to do so as solo gamers. If Bungie really wants to create a closed off game mode for the best of the best, maybe they should listen to the players and finally add private matches for them to participate in.
I can’t help but think Trials of Osiris is just a lazy attempt by Bungie to artificially create more end game content by doing as little work as possible (let’s be honest, ToS is just skirmish without the ability to respawn), and they’re making us pay for it! Personally I was hoping for a PvP mode with random modifiers each week. For example, one week maybe its control where only solar weapons cause damage & there are one hit melee kills, another week it’s combined arms where only sniper rifles & vehicle kills count, maybe another week it's elimination (which should be a free mode considering the lack of game modes) where you only have one clip of ammo, etc. Then again Bungie would have had to actually put some work & thought into a new mode instead of just rehashing skirmish.
I know I never post on here, & inevitably people are going to tell me to quite complaining & go find a fireteam on LFG, but I just had to vent. While Destiny’s gunplay and loot system has been incredibly addicting, I can’t help but think Bungie keeps going out of their way to disappoint me. I really hope they don’t make the same mistake with Prison of Elders; otherwise the Destiny season pass will have officially been one of my all-time worst gaming purchases.
Opinions?

Edited by Guts: 4/30/2015 11:10:48 AMDestiny is a unique game it's not like gears of war or any of those games I like that there's no matchmaking on raids because there will just be AFK people all the time and it makes it more fun when it's intense
have a change every now and then
-
Completely agree, there should be matchmaking for every aspect of the game.
-
You can go in solo
-
Next week is yet another reveal. You haven't played 1 second of the expansion and you're already bitching. Like having to find 2 other players for 1 aspect of the game is going to be so difficult it will kill your gaming experience. How about calming the fu## down and stop acting like a whiny little brat?

I play 100% with randoms. I have played exactly one atheon fight with someone on my friends lists (played with them as a random the week before) and I disagree with you. The end game content doesn't work well without communication. You don't typically get communication from match making. This is why lfg works, you have to put the effort into getting a team. It makes it more likly that you will be involved and communicative in game. The worry against it is that this lack of communication will put players off and make them quit. Yes, we all know people have quit before experiencing a raid because they didn't want to go find a team. But bungie built the raid for players that wanted the challenge of it. It wasn't originally built for the masses, it was supposed to be for the the people that wanted it. I think they are getting to get back there with the new upgrade paths in HoW. There are lots of lfg solutions and they are, in my opinion, much more flexible then anything bungie might have put in game.

8 RepliesI agree with you, I m an old gamer and is the first time I see a game where you need to find for groups out of the game, even in 3rd part websites like 100. Destiny has poor content, and this tools are content.
-
You shouldnt have to use a seperate site and waste time on forums/lfg's to play destiny, its absolute shit, why cant there be a group formation area in the tower or reef, you know those "social" areas destiny has...
-
Bungies decision to force people into finding a group on their own is crap. Trials of Osiris isn't any different than other elimination type shooting games. All other games with this game type have matchmaking without issues. I feel like bungie is just doing this to get more people to log into their website to find a team. I saw an argument that it's 2015 and it's easy to make friends. Guess what? It's 2015, it's easy to put matchmaking into a game so even casuals can enjoy it. Will I get as many wins with matchmaking? Probably not. Do I care? No. Just give us a choice.
-
Thing is Trials of Osiris is designed for really good crucible players only. I know for sure i have no chance on getting that many wins. So i will not even dare to try it. It will be the case for majority of players imo. It is a joke investment for Bungie as it only serves purpose to a limited number of users.

you dont understand the idea behind it.. at bungie there are some psycologists working.. and they decided that "bonding" the player will ensure them a long player base.. that is willing to pay even the most stupid prices for the tiniest DLC you have ever seen in history of gaming.. thats why they desperately try to force you in clans and in friendlists, since they dont want to have "lone wolf" players.. (despite they saying that this is a legit gamestyle) so they try toget you on every possible occasion to form little teams or bigger teams.. since team players doesnt quit so easily due to peer pressure. Its been proven a million times that OPTIONAL matchmaking would not harm in any way.. it would cater to the needs of those who dotn want to bond in groups.. but those are more likely to quit while writing shitty reviews since no peer pressure is out on them.. and thus maybe hindering new players to join.. also do groups encourage new players to join since everyone has friends and so on that maybe could be encouraged to buy a copy of destiny and whats more important : a copy of the DLC which you CANT trade in .. e.g. you can get destiny for menawhile 5$ at ebay but TDB and HoW you CANT get from a quitting player since its tied to his account.. =) so its all about MARKETING

I hate you for not raiding!
I'd gladly give you a guided tour of Crota and the vault if you'd like.
Edited by Senescha7: 4/30/2015 11:05:13 AMI think a lot of problems lie where a lot of gamers begin comparing vanilla versions of new IP's and its first content drops to those of either not new IP's or games like WoW where Blizzard has had PLENTY of time to fix mistakes, update the software and learn from their mistakes. I can see Bungie sitting in their DEV chairs now reading posts like these and, while appreciating the feedback and opinion, really - they're asking themselves what more they can do. This community is fairly adept at voicing their opinion regarding many matters. And thus far, when its a considerable issue, Bungie delivers the fix. Or an alternative - a compromise if you will. And if it doesn't work they fix it again, until something else is griped about on the forums. For major PvP players, ToO probably made them pop a stiffy. Let's be honest, IB is the only real endgame PvP activity. And while ToO seems like a re-hash - after my own consideration; I'd have to disagree. Looks like Skirmish but didn't play like it at all. Not when power matters. But that's just my personal opinion. My only other real issue with this community - and this post - is the complaint about the price. About believing DLC ought to be handed to you. You're speaking as though ToO was the only added feature to the DLC. Yeah you mentioned last weeks reveal and Pridon of Elders next week. But you're already judging a DLC without having known much about it. Not to mention you still won't until it releases. I doubt these reveals actually show all of HoW's secrets. Look, when you go and work for a Dev team doing - clearly - what's within their power to do to make their playing community happy - but receive so much negative feedback about content not even released - then I'll have no qualms regarding that ignorant opinion. You

That moment wen you realize everyones bitching about ur bitch post cuz ur being a bitch

Ahhh hmmm what's the catchphrase again???.... Hmmm.... Ah yes: Git gud scrub! No srsly, I my opinion it makes perfect sense to NOT include matchmaking in endgame content. You can't please everybody,so there's always gonna be somebody who's hatin' no matter what Bungie does.
-
I thought that it said that you had to find your own team but it would find another team for you to play with..this^ i agree with 100% because its a system where you lose three times your out so I'd rather be coordinating moves with people I know then running around randomly with people I dont. Besides, i already my team together an practicing;)
-
No matchmaking.
-
LFG scrub
-
I can honestly say that I have never played that mode in any console or PC game. Since you asked. From day one, Destiny has been about getting a team of friends together to play. That has been a part of the core of the game since its release. That people don't get that doesn't surprise me, but that they complain about it probably shouldn't either.
-
If there was matchmaking you could play with your friends against randoms and if you say randoms r scrubs then with ur friends u would be playing the scrubs ha logic
-
Holy shit stop bitching.

5 RepliesThere's no excuse to avoid making online friends and meeting people. It's 2015. Everything was officially online only with the creation of MySpace. All this "No matchmaking" crap id bungie telling people like you "make some damn friends and experience this already". It's a community. I thought people would understand this when they advertised a "shared world shooter". Seriously, go make friends. For the longest times I was playing with strangers until I settled into a clan. So take it from me, stick it out until you get a permanent group.
-
I'm primarily PVE and even Im excited for the Trials.
-
1 ReplyYou kids take games way to serious. You feel like it's an attack on you. Remember your nobody, nothing is directed at you.
-
12 RepliesEdited by BrokenBicycle: 4/30/2015 9:42:24 AMMatchmaking in raids wouldn't work for reasons I'm tired of explaining, they would have to change everything and honestly time would be better spend on new content considering it's not that hard to make a fireteam on here
-
People keep asking and asking for matchmaking but honestly all it would bring is a bunch of trolls looking for their 5 seconds of YouTube fame. Either that or people you'd have to carry. Don't get me wrong I'm not against matchmaking but Destiny has always been a game about getting a group of friends and working together.
-
7 RepliesFirst off in trials of Osiris, I'm not going to waste a quit/loss because I got matches with a shitty teammate. I also don't want to waste my time with shitty matchmade teams in raids. Get the -blam!- over it and go to recruiting. The opportunity is there, quit bitching.
