Rumble is ALMOST to the point of unplayable.
I say this because 80% of the games I join 4/5 other players are using thorn or tlw.
Now yes, you can still win with other guns and skill. I almost always finish with around 19 kills (21-22 usually to win) and I win every few rounds. But you're at a HUGE disadvantage if you don't use one of these 2 guns because they are far beyond other weapons 1v1.
It's simple. Hand cannons shouldn't 2 shot. There really is no more diversity in PVP.
Now yall are just gonna make comments about how I'm complaining, whining, etc. but deep down you know these weapons are broken.
The best part of Destiny PVP is it's Time To Kill. It doesn't take .5 seconds to kill someone like in COD. But the few 2 shot primaries really ruin that.
Even if they made it so every gun was Nerfed in a sense (not really) so that it took atleast 3 shots from a handcannon to kill someone no matter the gun. So every weapon just does a little less damage in the CRUCIBLE ONLY. Therefore making the TTK higher for every gun, and skill can play a bigger factor in gun fights.

The class of weapons say it all. A hand cannon should be what the name is. A freakin CANNON!!! It makes perfect sense. Not a fan of them myself but you can't knock a gun for doing exactly what it's called.

It's not hard to beat thorn and last word users, you just have to know how to maneuver around the map. I'm honestly more scared of hawkmoon as a weapon personally just because of its range.

That doesn't mean there no useable anymore I use my fusion rifle a lot , less then my pulse rifle but only when its necessary. The reason why hand cannons are so cheap because most maps in crucible are tight corners and small maps and that's where the 2 shot kill thorn and 3 shot kill TLW comes into play. It really doesn't take skill using them at least the thorn I don't mind TLW anymore but all you have to be is have good aim and it's easy to shoot 2 bullets in the head.

The easiest way to fix the Crucible, but no one would likely acknowledge it, is to not allow exotic weapons in normal Crucible. Let them in Inferno, Iron Banner, and Trials of Osiris.

Thorn only 2shots by way of poison. In the time the poison takes to tick over, you have enough time to let your third shot from a hand cannon or final rounds in other weapons headshot and thereby trade deaths. Let it go. It's not that bad.

1 ReplyTo be honest I am not quite sure why they ever buffed Thorn in the first place. There is very little diversity now because, as OP stated, you are at an immediate disadvantage if you aren't using TLW/Thorn. They need to buff ARs back up and at least make them a viable option in crucible. I like where pulse rifles are currently, which is usually what I rock.

3 RepliesRed death can easily outgun any hand cannon in a 1v1. Almost every time if you can aim. Vex mythoclast? All secondaries will beat hand cannons. And obviously heavies will shit on them, did I leave out supers? So what was your point again?

I'm not saying you're not right, but what's wrong with that? Most shooter games are like that where one gun is better than the rest, so everyone uses it. Why not just use one of those two guns? Personally I think destiny has a good variety. Thorn, TLW, red death, Timur's lash and others are all fantastic weapons. Definitely agree though ttk should be higher for even the great guns.

This is so true. I played rumble yesterday and was the only one in 4 different lobby's and was the only one not using it. In 4 different lobby's in a row... I played 4 games and raged. TLW IS OP

I totally agree. I'm going for rumble wins for Grimoire, and I hate using The Last Word all the time, but I feel like I'm only putting myself at a disadvantage if I don't. "Play how you want" is meaningless as long as you're really interested in winning.

Well if you are lucky hawkawesome can 1 shot ppl but you have to get very lucky. Thorn AMD TLW are just too easy to use get hawk or friggin fatebringer or something

1 ReplyRumble is the only playlist where you win by yourself. There's not 5 casuals on your team versus 6 premade players that hope to compete professionally, ultimately destroying my team. I'll go to B because it's the obvious place to try and hold, while my team is off loofing about somewhere else because they think it's team deathmatch. Rumble is perfect.

The weapon can be avoided and is only a 2 shot of their both headshots (and obviously the two bullets alone won't do much until the DOT takes over), also it only has 4 ticks of damage, each time is 7 meaning a total of 28 from the DOT (burn effect). Less then a billet from an auto rifle.
