All my friends were either talking about picking warlocks or titans during beta so I decided to go with Hunter instead.
Soon after release people were making fun of our cloaks and the fact that we [hunters] were overpowered in crucible (bladedancer).
Soon after that we were told that were obsolete in VoG because we were underpowered.
Then came the bantering on the forums.
Then came the nerfs.
Then came the whining followed by hate.
Then came the master race posts.
Shortly though, we saw an increase of people with more than one leveled type of character and understanding one another and acceptance rose by a meager 17.3%.
But then videos came out about the disembodiment of the bowels of destiny and any once past fan evacuated because of disdain or anger. Leaving only more hate behind.
Destiny was on a slow lane cruise control until Crota when hunters had a slight boost in popularity only to fall once again because of sheer lack of content in the shortest raid/longest strike ever.
To this day I always wonder if my friends picked warlocks and titan because everyone and their mothers picked hunters to begin with (most still do) and if I knowingly wanted to go against what my friends were doing and fell accidentally into the majority of "Hunter mains".
Doesn't matter.
