Should the swordbearer get better rewards?
So, I am always my groups sword bearer and I'm not suggesting we get vastly better drops, but it is a lot of stress man!!
Everyone groans when you die and never says thank you when you kill him!!
Seems like I always get shafted too. The rest of my group all have 3 black hammers, 3 hungers and more while I generally just get radiants.
Still working on our first hard kill, but I just know I'm gonna scream when the guys sitting back launching get crux and weapons while I sip on my nice hot cup of $^!@

No. We(people besides swordbearer) juggle between taking his shield down and keeping you(swordbearer) alive.

I always sword bear as well, but I do not think the sword bearer should get better rewards. You do this to support your team, and everyone has an important role on the team. Sometime you gotta bite the bullet and take on the harder objective, but there is no reason you should get anything more or less than your fireteam members.

Yah, the sword/relic holders should get a unique shader and emblem. It's easier and much less time consuming to find a professional swordbearer rather than learn it your self. Certain people (such as myself) need some extra motivation. I'd love to learn to use the sword, but in another month we'll be gaining levels. Hard mode Crota will turn into Normal again-so what's the point?

1 ReplyI 100% agree, and this is coming from a non-swordbearer (I can do it, I just don't have a lot of practice. Ghorn kinda locks me in place for my role in the fight). You guys are the ones that are putting the most risk on the line. A higher reward might push those that are unwilling to learn it to get off that ledge. I always give out props to the swordbearer when we finish the raid, too. Nothing but appreciation for it on this side of the table.

No, sword bearers should have the same chance as everyone else, if not then crota will turn into a crapfest of who will take the sword, I have already seen a player quit as someone else ran the sword

I swordbear every time when I'm on my hunter. Last week I got my first gjallarhorn from normal crota.

Yes it would get more players involved in different parts of the raid. even if it was on normal having to run the sword once then give chance to drop exotic raid weapon.

No, any idiot could run sword. It's not hard. Sit on a rock and yell fire. Personally the worst thing about running sword, is that your not firing rockets at crota. It's hard to watch a group fail to being crota down. I love jumping up only to see crota wave and bash me.
