There are a lot of sniper rifles that are way better thAn icebreaker.
Is regenerating ammo really that worth it?
:edit: by a lot i mean like 4 - thanks for the conversation by the way you all helped me through a longg day at work.

Is regeneration worth it? Most of the time, yes. It's not essential, mind you.

1 ReplyIt comes in useful as hell when the nightfall has juggler on. You don't have to run out in the middle of the highway to the danger zone to get more ammo nor do you need to use any synths. You understimate how great icebreaker can truly be.

1 ReplyI have found that Efrideet's Spear is an excellent sniper with the proper perks. Hits hard and with final round it destroys. That being said, I find myself falling back on the icebreaker when ammunition is scarce or difficult to get to because of heavy enemy fire.

1 ReplyIt's not that overwhelming but you'll feel it extremely useful when you sneak in a tiny spot and try to snipe the boss down in a nightfall or weekly

4 RepliesWell yeah there's better, but if it's solar burn and you're making your way up to the final boss (this weeks' weekly) then it's pretty nice. [spoiler]once you get to final boss you switch to a ghorn and drop the boss in a minute[/spoiler]

11 RepliesEfirdeets spear... Not only does it have the highest impact of any sniper rifle.. But you can also roll it into exactly how you want. I have one for each elemental damage, with rodeo, firefly and field scout... I favorite sniper in the game by far

Nothing is close to these 2, I would know, I've owned and tried every sniper in game. Long bow and Ldr are the only other 2 that I used, that do some pretty good damage. But I never use these rifles over IB or Black hammer. Edit: ok, well I was wrong, I haven't used the sniper from Iron Banner. Would like to see how it performs, but I am still standing by my Ice Breaker.

1 ReplyBullet sponges need bullets.....or laser burst, whatever it shoots, ironically a laser may have recoil, but probably not the most exaggerated recoil it has now.....

6 RepliesEdited by juicehead2004: 2/1/2015 6:12:10 PMIB may not be ur favorite or " the best" sniper for dps or stability but it's the best overall and most useful sniper rifle in the game...the ammo regen and exploding enemy perk make it a must have ..I have a fully upgraded Hammer and I still rarely use it over IB..it's so nice to just kno u don't have to worry about ammo ever when it's with u and if u are a high enough level it does plenty of damage to any enemy pve wise in any situation ...from thrall mobs to bosses it's an amazing weapon.. I've had just about every sniper in the game and I've dismantled all of them except IB and black hammer.. I've never been in a pinch where I said to myself, damn I really wish I had the LDR right now or the Longbow right now..IB will never let u down and if it does its ur fault not the guns

1 ReplyI grinded the crap out of iron banner for the spear. Its impact is as high as black hammer. And rolled it to field scout so it has 6 round mag. Its a beast!

6 RepliesThe unlimited secondary ammo is probably it's greatest perk. You can use one of your better snipers til you run out of ammo then switch to icebreaker, let it fill up, and switch back and have about half ammo. It also hits like a truck on solar burn strikes lol.

In pve it is But in pvp u should take another non exotic sniper to free up your slot

Icebreaker is the grandfather legend of this game, everyone knows this gun took them to the promised land every single strike and got us to where we are now
