2 RepliesEdited by Nizzy 303: 1/11/2015 6:42:42 AMThere are in Essence 5 Factions, 3 of which focus exclusively on 2 attributes each Vanguard Crucible Dead Orbit: Discipline & Strength New Monarchy: Intellect & Strength Future War Cult: Intellect & Discipline Vanguard you will have to do nothing special to gain reputation for or to purchase from. Just do bounties, Weekly Heroics and Nightfalls and Strike Playlists. They have great gear and the armor that's fairly balanced. To build Crucible, you must compete and complete Bounties in the Crucible. There are absolutely awesome weapons there and armor that is about the same, but custom painted from the Vanguard. The 3 Factions that require you to wear their Class item, may have your reputation raised for them. doing every thing and anything except Bane of Crota bounties (Eris Morne). However, to purchase from them, you have to use Crucible Marks, which mean you must compete in the Crucible. Every "Faction" rank up level 3 and beyond scores you free gear, be it weapons, armor, ships, shaders, you name it. BUT IT IS ENTIRELY RANDOM what you get from them. The only things that are certain are Commendations (needed for Chest, Helmet and weapons purchases) and that the items will be from that Faction. ALL weapon and armor stat will randomly roll, so what you he will like be different from what that Faction Sells. As far as what the 3 "Factions" stand for as beliefs: Dead Orbit-" We gonna puss out and bail off of this Rock!" New Monarchy-"Let's just wait and see what happens. We're in no rush." Future War Cult-"WAR WAR WAR! ALL TIME STREAMS ALL THE TIME!! FIGHT, GUARDIAN, FIGHT!!!" Forgot, if you are newer and missed what Intellect, Discipline and Strength are for: Intellect shortens the cool down of your Super Meter. Discipline shortens the cool down of your Grenade Meter. Strength shortens the cool down of your Melee Meter. Maximum cool down is at 100% (glide your cursor over the icons right of your Guardian on the character menu screen). I BELIEVE 100% is achieved at 270 stat points in any of the 3. You will not be able to max out all three.

18 RepliesWow this thread is a perfect example of how the destiny community is full of assholes. I'll prolly get made fun of for standing up for the poor guy or (gal). Yall know he means faction. Anyways future war cult is the best IMO. All their armor focuses on discipline and intellect (grenades and super). And their legendary emblem is pretty cool. Their shotgun, the clash, has been great to me. But in the end, it's just whatever fits your play style. Sometimes I'll go with whatever armor increases the effectiveness of the gun I'm using.

New Monarchy. HOWEVER, do the vanguard first because it's much easier than the other factions.
