Starfire protocol's perk states that you gain a n additional fusion grenade. THIS DOES NOT STACK WITH GIFT OF THE SUN!!! You will only carry two grenades thus negating the perk. Make sure your warlock friends know this before purchasing them.
Edit 1: I know that it opens up the ability to run an alternate perk, but I saw a fairly reasonable amount of people on the forums talking about having three grenades. So I put this up to prevent as many ill informed purchases as possible.
Edit 2: glad to see that this thread prevented some ill informed purchases of this armor. Don't forget that a DOT build for fusion grenades is amazingly deadly.
Edit 3: We're trending!! Thanks for the first trending thread you guys!! Made my day!
P.S. That intellect is amazing.

I got it from an engram the day before xur sold it. It's definitely not the best warlock exotic but I do like its high amount of intellect
-
Can't believe it was not mentionned. It's really frustrating.

1 ReplyGot that chest piece a couple weeks ago in a nightfall but haven't used it yet. I've been between the Sunbreakers and the gauntlet that gives you a 2nd special melee because those are the only two gauntlets that I have. I have Obsidian Mind also but I can't use that either :(
-
I found out a little to late, now I want a refund from Xur.
-
And it only grants an additional FUSION grenade. Not dolor flare or any of their other gernade options
-
I bought it yesterday and I'm slightly disappointed but with the amount of defense and intellect i can't complain. I usually use voidwalker anyway.
-
Wonderful I bought 2 of them...
-
2 Repliescant you just use a different perk over gift of the sun to free up something?
-
4 RepliesFound this out three weeka ago because I don't have to rely on Xur for my gear.
-
1 ReplyWell you're late to the punch, everyone already knows this.. But the question is if I equip solar flare, will I still gain a fusion grenade?
-
Eh, I knew this and bought it anyway. I don't even use fusions, but thought maybe I would and have 2 and also use the exploding perl

5 RepliesEdited by KaleidoscopeEyz: 1/2/2015 7:09:48 PMWho cares about the perks. It's all about lookin pimpin.
-
1 ReplyI was going to run it with ignite anyways. DOT + 2 fusions = a lot of damage.
-
Bungie describes it as double dipping...because we understood it wrong doesn't mean we where right. Its similar to how Skullfort works, it regens your health on a kill with stormfist (which is normally transfusion perk instead) If a Tiran has both equipped his or her health doesn't regen twice as fast. They just give you that perk, so you can pick a different one. Similar to how InnMost light gives titans death from above and headstrong letting them pick different perks instead.
-
It should cause an explosion as big as a supernova
nerf
-
5 RepliesYou want 3 grenades? you serious? xD you wanna go around running throwing pokeballs to everyone in PvP? get your ship together mate.
-
Good thing I got mine from nightfall
-
Thanks for the heads up.
-
Mmm okay thanks for the heads up. Now that I know that it doesn't stack, I'll use touch of flame with it
-
Good to know! I was going to buy it because of that. Badassery would ooze from every warlock. Well I'll still buy it because like you said, I can use DoT on my grenades or the angel one that let's me rain death from above.
-
I actually bought it thinking it was going to give me three. I'll suffice with two seeing as I like to use touch of flame anyways. It is a misleading item nonetheless.
-
Learned this the first week the DLC was out :/... Although I did enjoy the chest bc I was able to use angel of light :D
-
1 ReplyIt's so stupid that almost nothing in this game stacks!
-
1 Replywhat gives i bought the perk and I'm not getting my extra grenade. I only got one.
-
Damn. Was going to think that one over this weekend. Thanks for sharing that info!

I thought the fusion grenade was for a void walker. Until ten minutes ago when I got the upgrade. Very disappointed all around...I hate playing sun singer.
