Not even a Cutscene in this "Expansion"? Are you kidding me Bungie?
I just paid $20 for 3 missions that I completed in 45 mins.
- No substantial new areas.
- No cutscenes.
- No in depth explanation of what the -blam!- is going on
- Eris literally READS WHAT THE -blam!-ING QUEST DESCRIPTION IS. THAT IS ALL OF THE EXPLANATION YOU GET.
The first mission she says go kill the fist of Crota. With NO in depth explanation as to why. Then you do that (Which takes 10 mins) then when you get back she essentially says "Yay you killed the fist of Crota"
THATS ALL YOU GET. Then the next two missions have even LESS explanation. The 3 "Story" missions took all of 45 mins to complete.
Then on top of that this is LITERALLY just a re-skinned Queens Wrath event.
- Female quest giver? Check.
- Do stuff for rep? Check.
- Buy stuff when you get enough rep? Check.
- Minimal explanation on why you are doing what she says? Check.
- NPC standing in random section of the tower that sells gear? Check.
- Ship is behind said NPC? Check.
This is far beyond anything that I have ever seen. This is not even an booster pack let alone an "expansion". To charge $20 for this is an absolute crime. You should be ashamed of this product Bungie.
You tell us that our feedback matters and that you are actively changing the game to accommodate said feedback.....where is that is exactly?
We say we want more story and you give us even LESS than before.
We say we want more in depth explanations and you give us next to nothing.
If they do not address this with the upcoming weekly update this will be my last Destiny Experience. I supported them up to this point in the hopes that the DLC would make a marked improvement and all its done is make me feel even worse about the product.
The only good thing to come out of this is that this time around the negative reaction is practically unanimous and hopefully that means they won't be able to ignore it\

THIS IS NOT ME STANDING UP FOR BUNGIE! but the game is published by Activision and they gets greedy with dlcs they are always expensive and not much content I mean at least we got a little story with our 3 multiplayer maps for 20 bucks (sarcasm) all they get is the pvp maps in CoD for 20 bucks maybe a couple new items...

Edited by Chapstick: 12/10/2014 6:58:33 PMthe problem with bungie's dlc crap is that they included the raid. they automatically assume the raid will add hours of playing time (which it will) but the problem with that logic? the raid is not that much actual CONTENT it just takes an ass long time of doing the same thing over and over. (not to mention the fact that a lot of people don't even do the raids) bungie assumes they have 8 hours of content packed away nicely in the dlc that could be true but if I wanted to play 8 hours of the same crap over and over again, I would've bought master chief collection.

1 Replydoes anyone even care about cut scenes? the base game had a handful of them and everyone hated they couldnt skip them after the first time. nobody even pays attention to them now. why should bungie spend time animating them and embedding them when everyone hates them? and they did include one, an intro cinematic, its right there on the destination screen to watch anytime you like.

I like cut scenes too man, but it doesn't bother me that there isn't a new one here. And the Bunker is a pretty substantial new area, in my opinion. Plus a new PvP map. As for there being "little explanation of what is going on", I disagree. Eris lays out your missions and what is at stake pretty well. There could have been a little more explanation on the post quest bounties, but I think Bungie assumed most players are pretty familiar with the Cosmodrome, and finding the areas with the targets is part of the challenge. I didn't find The Dark Below hard to follow at all. I haven't played the raid yet, but I doubt it will be confusing, from a story standpoint.

8 RepliesI would just like to point out that "The Last of Us" just announced 20 dollars of DLC that included a couple of weapons (I think 5), some useless outfits, 5 new skills (big whoop) and GESTURES. For 20 bucks. A game that many many many many people loved (including myself). Yes you can buy it piecemeal, but for 20 bucks that is far far less "content" than what you get here for 20 bucks.

If you bought this game for story then you deserve all of the things you listed. While I also was under impression story would be at least on par, if not better than Halo, once I found out it's not the case as story is next to nonexistent (even if premise has so much potential) I stopped paying attention to it altogether..
