If I were designing a 3rd subclass..

Last night, I had a few ideas about what I would do if I was tasked with designing a 3rd subclass. These are just speculative, random ideas that I'd like to share with everyone. Who knows, we might see them in Destiny 2 one day... For the Hunter, Subclass Name: Archer Elemental Damage: Void Super Move: Summon a void bow and arrow with 3 shots. Similar to how Gunslinger currently works Melee: Bowie Knife slash Grenades: Snare Grenade - enemies caught in the explosion are temporarily trapped and cannot move for a few seconds, allowed to button mash to break free a little earlier Tracking Grenade - enemies caught in the explosion take damage and their location can be seen for a few seconds later by a purple hue around them Poison Grenade - enemies caught in the explosion take damage and lingering damage Class Upgrades: these can be things like gaining extra time for your bow and arrow, gaining an additional arrow, or having your grenade/melee effects last longer Overall, this is a mix between a stealth and support class. You can deal considerable damage with you super, but also help your team out with your grenades. Plus, who doesn't want to shoot a bow and arrow right? For the Titan, Subclass Name: Brawler Elemental Damage: Solar Super Move: Tap into solar rage, and go on a punching killing spree. Similar to how blade dancer currently works, but more clunky and powerful and less elegant Melee: Uppercut Grenades: Disorient Grenade - enemies caught in the explosion "black out" for a second or two with a lingering ear ringing noise. Bleeder Grenade - enemies caught in the explosion take damage and lingering damage. Combination Grenade - after an initial explosion, two smaller explosions quickly follow for more damage in random locations inside the first blast radius. Class Upgrades: these can be things like gaining more time or more health during your punching spree, staggering enemies back with your melee, or gaining an additional grenade. Overall, this is truly a tank killer type class. Lots of damage to be down, and a chance for another class to go on super sprees to rival the Hunter's blade dancer. For the Warlock, Subclass Name: Stormcaller Elemental Damage: Arc Super Move: Summon a bolt of lightning from the sky in an area in your field of view. Melee: Shock charge Grenades: Thunder Grenade - enemies caught in the explosion take damage and sound is reduced for a few seconds. Fog Grenade - similar to a smokescreen like effect, enemies visibility will be reduced in a small area, disorients PVE enemies. Lighting Pulse Grenade - enemies caught in the explosion take damage and a lighting damage pulse reoccurs every few seconds for some amount of time. Class Upgrades: these can be similar to how you would upgrade the Titan's fist of havoc super, pulsing electricity or a bigger blast radius, having grenade effects last longer. There could be a "Rainstorm" perk that buffs your teammates stats inside your super's blast radius. Overall, this class is meant to be somewhere in between Voidwalker and Sunsinger. Dealing damage but also giving buffs to your team as well. Hope you enjoyed the read! Just thought it'd be cool to get out in the open and get everyone's opinions and ideas on them. Deej, if Bungie needs some more creative thinkers, you know who to ask :).

  • So, basically, the same exact super for a hunter? How about a Voidseeker, where you press the button and you spawn multiple "void missiles" that aggressively home in on targets in the area? For an idea of how this works, please see the annoying enemy that spawns in the room right before Phogoth. This provides hunters with an "area of effect" super, which they don't have. Also, it sounds useful. Upgrades can increase number of projectiles, the speed with which they move, how long they last before disappearing if they don't find a target, etc. Melee could be something like "voidstab" or "twist the knife" where the longer you are able to hold the melee button on an enemy the more damage you're able to do to them. You just hold the melee button in to activate. You know, I just came up with this and kind of like it. Might make my own thread!

    • Hunter needs an AoE super, Titans have fist of havoc, warlocks have nova bomb, us hunters have very precise supers

      • Nice but hunter with another walk around super is gonna cause plenty of hate. My main is a hunter and I did rather prefer to have a super where I can just use and walk away.
