Am I the only one that likes rng?
I honestly am glad I don't get everything I want it leaves me with something in my gaming world to look forward to every week :) anyone else feel this way? Ps I'm looking forward to tomorrows reset! :)

1 ReplyI don't love or hate RNG loot systems. I can take them or leave it. I generally prefer token based systems myself so I can earn over time and have a definite light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. It's what fits my more limited play times these days. If the RNG loot system is fair, properly working and has some streak breaker functionality built in and the loot tables are sane then I'm fine with RNG loot systems. However, I feel Destiny's RNG loot system is far too punitive, stingy, and streaky. It's feast or famine; you are either blessed or cursed. The loot tables are also out of whack (shards/coins as rewards for higher risk activities like Nightfalls/Raids, raid loot being 100% RNG and very negatively streaky, vanity items like shaders being part of raid or vendor loot tables, etc.) The system also needs a way to reforge weapons in PvE. I'm sitting on tons of hadronic essences and weapon parts that are useless. Make some crazy expensive way to reforge perks and change elements on guns so we can get the gear we want.

1 ReplyI like it too because you never know when your going to have a lucky day. Oh the flip side to that though, 24 raids and no raid gear? There should be some kind of system in place where it detects that ok this guy has raided 20 times no raid gear lets give him a little something. Cuz srsly I got 4 Atheons epilogue 5 found verdicts 3 pradeyth revenge 3 Hezens vengeance 3 fate bringers I don't want them to hand things out but after doing 2 months worth of raids I should have at least 2 pieces of raid gear. Not bitching just saying, I'll still continue to raid every week.

If players got what they wanted all the time they soon would be saying this game is boring. Therefore Bungie cannot win despite what they do to make the game fair or interesting.

RNG is really only an issue with Raid gear, because there is no other way to acquire level 30 without RNG. But that's changing soon. I don't mind it. I was able to work towards purples and exotics, and get some rare random drops here and there.

Random loot from a Nightfall: Good Random loot from a Nightfall where you did all the work and your buddy joins in at the last second and gets something 10 times better: -blam!-ing stupid (Not saying they shouldn't be rewarded so well, but this has happened more than it should) Random loot from patrol: Fantastic (Actually how I got my first exotic weapon) Random loot that usually results in nothing from the Crucible even though you did everything and the 0-25 guy gets an Exotic: -blam!-ing stupid Random loot in the raid: Still fairly okay, if not infuriating because you still haven't gotten the one piece you need for 30 while the guy next to you of the same class just got his 6th copy of said item. That, or you just got -blam!-ing Chatterwhite for the 6th time. Honestly, after 3, what the -blam!- am I gonna do with any more? I can't wear more than three across my characters and I can't dismantle them for glimmer like weapons and armor. It depends on what's going on really. Sometimes I don't mind RNG. Other times I -blam!-ing hate it to death. And before you say I'm upset I haven't gotten what I want first try on the raid or something, I don't expect everything as soon as possible (even though that's exactly what happened to my Titan friend...), I just don't want things that are literally impossible for me to use any more of and that serve 0 purpose when getting rid of them. And as for Crucible, I would at least like a blue item, not even an engram for Cryptarch rep, but just an item for parts or something when I go 45 and 5. Saying that I get rewarded with rep and marks and that that should be enough is like trying to say I shouldn't be mad the worst guy on the team got a golden trophy because we all got participation ribbons.

3 RepliesIt wouldn't be as frustrating if there was a trading system like there should be. But overall I don't mind it, I can buy my exotics from Xur for the most part and when they do drop from nightfall or raid it's hella exciting. (I know they can drop from tiger strikes but I haven't gotten to experience that awesomeness yet lol)

4 RepliesI don't mind the RNG... But I will be completely honest. Sometimes its completely annoying when you out a lot of effort into the game and feel you get nothing. Every nightfall except last weeks I was awarded strange coins... For the weekly I got Dr nope 3 times and the devil you know another 3 times. I'm not saying I feel about I got those weapons because I dismantled them all except one devil you know. I got lucky with the raid and got gauntlets o. My third one. I just got the helmet this week doing. I've gotten most of the raid weapons. But I guess what annoys me is going through an entire raid and getting only a chatter white and shards. So I used my coins and bought 3 exotic weapons and a lot of exotic armor. Do I feel any different that I bought those compared to what I got in the raid? No... RNG is nice but its equally nice to have the ability to male up for RNG taking a dump one lol

Wish the RNG was a bit more rewarding to better players than being completely random. IE; AFK'ers in strikes shouldn't even have a chance at a legendary or exotic. Players who place last in Crucible shouldn't get legendaries or exotics.

1 ReplyDone 3 full raids and plenty of half raids, sittin on 70 shards and no raid gear. My buddy who always goes through with me has a full set minus the chest piece. It doesn't bother me that much, keeps things interesting. And when I finally get a piece of raid gear I know im gonna flip lol

1 ReplyThey set the trap well didn't they(Bungie)? It is the sole reason i continue to play even though i hate it so so much lol. Conflicting feelings about our Lord RNGeeeeeeesus, that's the southern pronunciation. He has given me 2 legendaries after, i think now, 20,000 kills. 1 drop and a reward from xur for leveling up. Both were legendary sniper rifles. I haven't played all the way through a nightfall or tiger so im probably missing out on most of the good drops. Just slowly getting better so im not baggage on teammates. It's a strange thing but it DOES keep people playing. What happens when you've got the guns and armor you want AND they're leveled up? It's over. Unless you play pvp
