Kabr and the Aegis :: Cracking the Vault updated 12/6

Im not sure, time is not relative to me as. kinda have chronophobia and hell maybe thats why this interests me so much. I'm going to attempt to reorg all the info so that it acts as a walkthrough with things you could attempt that may yield what we are looking for. I see a lot of posts asking for vids. We do stream but no vids yet because we are tracking down leads from the community but our performance in game isint always the best. Several groups have taken it upon themselves to look too. We are very excited and hopeful overall we guardians will find something. ------------------- [b]original theory::[/b] -kabr the titan went into the vog with his raid team. The creator of the "super good advice" witnessed his "fall" and it drove him insane so he created the gun to 1 keep him company and 2 keep him tied to this world. As long as everyone percieves the existance of the gun he made and he has it the oracles wouldnt be able to blink him from existence. This was suspect but even an entire raid team with the gun equipped can still succumb to oracles. Following the lore further, kabr fashions the shield out of a gorgons head and uses whats left of his light to power it. We thought maybe, be it anything from a cutscene to something similar to the loot cave might still be left to find in the VoG that would allow us to talk to Kabr one last time. In his grimoire he says "If i speak again, i am not kabr" suggesting he may speak to some version of him again be it his darkness self, soul, light, spirit, w/e. His grimoire further states "but somehow they didn't kill him" and goes on to talk about he furnished armor and weapon from vex bodies. The weapon would be the mythoclast. "they have taken my ghost" confirming the ghost found outside the vault isint his. "They are in my blood and brain" suggesting he was taken over. Made into a dark guardian. Very much alive. Following Kabrs grimoire and that of the VoG points out to a path used by Athena (something like that i dont have the grimoire card) and she "thread" a path back out of the vault of glass. The word "thread" being used is important because Atheons will is the "needle" per grimoire and (i forget who was talking) says "i dont not know the shape that comes after" so we spent a lot of time inside the atheon throne room looking for shapes. We also tried the mythclast scope, which theoretically is a Vex eyeball and the pocket infinity which has a star shape reticle. The exotic bounty weapons all come from the team who originally enetered the VoG. So we thought maybe having some of these weapon equipped like we tried with "super good advice" and the oracles still killed us. Mythology and Destiny's grimoire are incredibly identical however. No where are they more identical than when it comes down to the gorgons. They are typically skipped or not done without being seen or done without starting from the beginning it is very rare that an entire team will pass through undetected from the start of the spire all in one go. I also think its very possible that the original raid team from testing, the one that spent an absurd amount of time on the raid and never completed it, were actually looking for the same thing that we are. I still think there could be something in the gorgon maze but with this new info i must say i feel i hit a wall. I am going to stream tonight and attempt the new chest location. Info above. Regarding the first team to complete the raid "1st" and the "tighter knot" -Chronic Draaven (b.net) As Watts said. "The truest form of the Raid awaits. For the first to finish it, there are even more meaningful rewards. I am absolutely committed to this information and while i admit i jumped the gun my first stream night. I was just as excited to figure some of this out as many of you are. I'm not perfect, ive done my best to give credit where credit is do. Bear in mind. I cant defend myself 24 hours a day. My head feels like its gonna explode from everything im trying to piece together. So there you have and that is the honest answer. I'm choosing to believe in what im looking for. This will be a process. The fact is we are missing something. My biggest fear is you all will stop looking. Please don't let me take away from the possibility that destiny might have a handful of secrets left for us. All goals, unknown goals, and "busted myths" will be posted with their respectable sections. Unknown goals are listed and believed to have possibilities because of lore or because clearing sections with 0 fxck up count yields a chest like from the Templar by not letting him teleport. It would be unreasonable to believe this is the only time this takes place in the vault. [b]::the spire::[/b] -spawning into the spire, you see a group of vex vanish from infront of the dead portal. This dead gate is one of two you see. The second being on a platform before atheon/gatekeeper entrance and after/going down jumping puzzle. known goals - dont let vex control a single sync plate result - unknown unknown possibilities - let all plates be controlled by vex, can they open thier own gate below? Regardless if the vex control 1 plate or none the lights leading up to the Templars Well remain the same. Tested by doing 1 right after the other. ------------------------ [b]Kabrs trials[/b] - is a walk way through the spire door that leads down to the ::first chest:: which is rumored to be skippable and when doing so may trigger a ::chest:: inside the Templars Well. The passage way itself doesnt seem to hold any additional secret passages. ------------------------- [b]The Templars Well[/b] - first off, this area is way to BIG and way to SECRET on top of being way to POLISHED to act only as an additional walk way to The Templar area. Those who have explored it for hours have found nothing. The only question now is did they explore it at the right time or with the right circumstances? Following this path brings you to what is reffered to as a second entrance to The Templar. Essentially you end up on some rocks just west of the normal platform you would stand on before jumping down. The entrance to the well can be done 1 of 2 ways. Inside this room we have only found 2 entrances out. The wall leading to the bloom chest and the obvious giant gate that opens behind the templar after defeating him. If you climb up, over and behind the very center of where the gatekeeper sits before his battle you can drop down to an area where a glitch of the templars relic appears. Pulling it removes the one for the templar and we have no found a way out yet though one is rumored. [b]The battles~~[/b] [u]Defend the Confluxes![/u] -known goals: dont allow any vex to sacrfice. This is difficult and doable. It can take several tries however because soemtimes the vex can warp from extreme distances, past you and end up behind the farthest conflux. Which is bullshxt btw and this should be fixed. -results: unknown

  • One person should stay at the very beginning and let the other 5 got brought to atheon, then walk/explore through and see if anything has changed.

        • I was exploring the other pathway to the templar and got up to the middle platform where he said the chest might be in the video(Was coming from the templar). As soon as I got the the grass spot, before he dropped down the second time, it wiped our whole team. Wonder why they don't want us up there.

        • Just a random thought but everyone knows there are 7 waves of oracles right. Well what if you didn't kill a single oracle and only cleansed when I were marked. Maybe the seven waves just disappear. It seems like if a team misses an oracle they all just cleans and retry or wipe and retry if there are sniping at the top. Anyone ever tried just clensing and re cleansing. I remember one of the grimiore cards saying stand in the light and be cleansed just like the pool that cleanses. I could be totally wrong it was just a thought.

          • I found some areas in atheons chamber, but i didnt check it after i killed him. there are some tiny rooms on the other side of the wall on the left. jump on the piller that is supporting the portal on the left. and jump to the wall on the left side. it is a good distance, but you can make it. then, as soon as you land, turn left. jump again to where the two walls meet. there is a crack just on the right, where you can fit in there. then there are two rooms beneath you. one is a larger chamber that you should be able to drip right down onto the ledge. the other one is (instead of dropping down) go to the left and drop, there is a tiny little ledge. it is a single hallway with an abrupt end. also there is a little ledge inside there that you can jump up to. I believe something could be in there, or the surrounding area. Thanks, PS4 captnelmo357

            • has anyone tried the combo of killing the templar without teleport, taking the correct path not the crack in the wall, killing a gorgon without the team wiping, followed by everyone taking the jump puzzle? with the templar chest disappearing if not everyone takes the right path, maybe killing a gorgon allows for all the extra jump pads to form and with the entire team taking that route, maybe the combo spawns something?

              • Anyone check out the empty room on the left side of Templar area? Instead of going where the bloom room is go to the left wall facing forward, another hole is there but there isn't anything inside really and it goes on to an invisible wall overlooking a cliff kind of. Odd for all that to be just "there". Leftmost side about halfway up.

                • Possible solution (despite how much I've enjoyed reading this thread and it's comments): DLC Update Number XYZ Mission: Kabr's Ghost The gate outside the raid becomes accessible for teams on the new mission. Launch mission, kill the Hezen Protective (special Minotaur near the endless steps) to retrieve the access key. Gate takes you to the portal in front of Atheon's chamber allowing jump puzzle access back to his chamber or using jumpy mechanics nearby to access crystal cave to continue the official scripted search for Kabr's ghost. Mission continues like a regular mission, but in the new-ish vault areas, or as VoG Raid part 2. It would be a separate raid or story mission with isolated goals and treasure. Level 30? Post Hard Mode? A design to keep players focused on one piece of the puzzle at a time and to tell a story in sequential order over a longer span of time. Rewards Table: Achievement/trophy, Chatterwhiter, Chatterblack, Timefixer (sparrow), Kabr's Ghost Shell (new shell - looks brown), The Eye of the Needle (Legendary Ship), Gorgon's Eye Consumable (all classes - looks like a gorgon sitting on your head like the pumpkin hat)... [spoiler]I kid I kid :D[/spoiler] Trust me. I want all these secrets to be true. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Happy hunting guys. I'll be checking back on progress. It's still fun to see what you all come up with.

                  I have something to aport Once bored with an atheon checkpoint i tried this cheesing method and he did not see me behind the pillar. Once he went down the stairs he kneeled down and started scanning the area How i triggered this is unknown to me. And i MIGHT have a video but i think i ditched it since it was so rare and probably meant nothing anyways but a cool animation thats possible my guess is to quickly find a hiding spot before he spawns. If he doesn't shoot you did it BUT perhaps if he is unable to see any guardians he will do something diferent instead of teleporting?

                  • So when you start the VoG all the sync plates are already active. Perhaps for the first chest you need to A: open the door without a single player setting foot on a sync plate & B: all players must take the hidden path (so the chest will not disappear)

                              I'll be obvious, weapon details aren't there for show. Use the Weapon that breaks reality, be erasure about the gorgons because they will do the same to you Another thing is at each area there is a pivotal sequence that must occur. There are a total of 5 chimes (if i remember correctly, i might be missing one), of which most people had hit the first 2 as for the rest... you'll need to try harder. [u]Listen for it's screeching gaze and you'll find the crystalline cave. To find the cave you must take the leap of faith.[/u] Lore Info Kabr was not alone, he ventured into the howling dark with Pahanin, Praedyth, Osiris and 2 other unknowns.

                                  "You will meet the Templar in a place that is a time before or after stars. The stars will move around you and mark you and sing to you. They will decide if you are real." since the oracles make musical notes, what if we were to let certain ones mark us by not killing it, and then cleanse ourselves in the center. to play some sort of song maybe? the only "decision" they make is that we're not real by marking/killing us. if we could make them decide we were real, maybe we would get something for it. has anyone noticed anything special about the different notes they play? or maybe from a top down view if the layout of oracles represents notes of a song. ( like this: -..`-.` ) http://www.constellation-guide.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Pleiades-map.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleiades_(Greek_mythology) the first one is a map of the pleiades constellation. do the placement of the stars match up with the oracles? or song notes in any way? this idea stems from the skull in halo 3 where you had to jump through the rings in a certain order and it played the last notes from the theme song. and im probably reading waaaayyyy too far into all this but i love it.

                                  • I am pretty sure that when Kabr references himself speaking again, it is when you gain the Time's Vengeance buff and you see the phrase "Guardians make their own fate" on the screen. I think that is literally him talking to you from "beyond".

                                      The Templar teleport chest disappears when someone takes the wrong path, or dies and is respawned on the wrong path. I believe this could explain why it (another chest) hasn't been found - everyone must take the right path. One step in the wrong direction by only one person could remove the chest regardless of meeting what ever other criteria is required. That time gate below the entrance and the other in the jumping maze has been driving me crazy since the raid launched! They are too perfect to not be used or have a purpose!!!

                                    • Has anyone tried to simply refuse to kill or damage Atheon? I'm wondering if 7 teleports with no damage to him (but 7 rounds of oracle killing) will do anything. 7 rounds may be important for both bungie reasons and the fact that you had to go though 7 with the Templar.

                                      • Bump Confirmed past and future gates do not have an accessible atheon door anywhere between the start of gatekeeper through the end of the atheon with or without the relic in hand. Beating a gorgon down with a shield does nothing The secret to extra chests lies in the scoreboard and with the exception the throne room yielding 0's across the board and not dieing the entire way should yeild chests in what would now be known locations. I'll update op soon.

                                        • I did the vault today with my usual group. After we defeated Atheon, the entire group decided to explore the room and the Mars/Venus gates. Eventually, the rest of the team got bored after about a solid 30 mins. Everyone left Atheon's room except me. About 10 mins of me being alone, weird music started playing and Time's Vengeance buff engulfed me for 25 secs. We went back in with our alts to test it; it did it again to me. Idk if this is a glitch in the game or if there is something for that lone player to do within that timed buff. Can anyone else confirm this happening to them?
