There is no proper story telling. If there was, every damn movie would be a rom com or those Iwo Jima movies by Clint Eastwood. This kind of thinking keeps you in the box- story telling can be done in many many different ways. Just watch Memento or Pulp Fiction, Smoke, one of those movies shot in first person with the shaky camera, then like a Harry Potter and a Mel Brooks film (space balls, high anxiety, the one about a black sherif in the old west), if your still not satisfied with how many different approaches-- Doctor Who and 'and now for something completely different' (Monty Python). So many ways to tell a story, so few new ways to bitch about this game. The narrow mindedness reflects on the collective view on 'how the story should be told', all at once, without any effort on my part to think of any hints in the in game- sorry- gameplay. Like strikes and random comments. Sorry if you wanted the whole story now, really no point demanding more production speed for months on top of gameplay bitching tweaks. But this is just my opinion, I'm patient and feel satisfied by how smooth it plays- minus the cards, I dropped a week into playing not reading. Call me Skinny Pete but I do have priorities. Still waiting on the cliff notes for this.

I must admit I love all the movies you mention they tell great stories in different ways, however I don't remember ever needing to go home and read a load of cards to understand them. The point being if you cannot get the story from whatever medium (movie/game/book) then as a story teller you have failed. Edit due to damn typo's

They are missing a story yes but even in the pos they are calling a story there is no "hook" nothing that makes the gamer, this may just be myself, wanting to know more. I don't know about the rest of you but bungie didn't give me enough story to give 2 shits about the "last city on earth" let alone the people in it. Why would anyone long for a DLC when they haven't been givens hook in the story upon release?
