[Upcoming Patch] No One Will Take Inexperienced Players Into The VoG Now.
*NOTE: this post is in regards to the upcoming patch that will cause any 3 random people to be teleported during the Atheon fight, regardless of location.*

I can see it now,
*3 players get teleported*
"Ok who will take the relic?"
"Uh, I'm not great with it"
"____ You should take it"
"Ok then I will take it."
*2 Oracles have already spawned*
*Minotaur is Half way up the stairs*
*blind by third oracle waiting for cleanse cool down*
Or better yet
LFG for VoG Have To Be Experienced With Relic, No Inexperienced Players. No Players below ____ Level. Must have 300 damage weapons, must be _____ subclass.
EDIT: This post is not about me, I'm speaking for the potential new players that will try the raid.

As long as you're willing to listen and are at least a 26 I'll run through it with you and show you what you need to do to win it. Anyone with a sunsinger warlock would be helpful because well be pushing the Templar off and getting the secret chest for him not teleporting. I'll be on around 8-9 eastern time. I need to do the raid twice tonight so I can take two groups, first come first serve. I'll probably take 3-4 newbies that way my friends can play too and it'll be easier. Xbox one

9 RepliesI understand (and agree with) them patching the cheese, but am extremely disappointed with this random teleport things thing. What is the point of the raid, if not to be able to plan out the best way to handle a fight by assigning roles, based on skill sets/classes/items? Nevermind the fact that different weapons are appropriate depending on whether you are inside or outside, or the complete confusion that is going to occur, wasting precious seconds, every time 3 people are teleported in (will have to announce who is/who is getting the relic each time), or that Hunters are ideal for the inside job and Titans for the outside job. I wouldn't care if at the START of the Atheon fight 3 RANDOM people got 'marked' and would be the 3 to go into the portals for that entire attempt (allows them to set up their sub-classes/skills/weapons and figure out which of the 3 is doing relic duty), but this feels like an inexplicably stupid decision as it is. Hope they reconsider this before putting it in.

3 RepliesIts a raid you add mechanics to the raid. You don't add them after the release. You just fix exploits and leave it alone. They should add these things to a future raid. Not an existing one.

I hate taking inexperienced player into the vog. they always make the raid longer then it usually is. An experience team can do normal in 1hour or so, inexperienced takes about 3 hours. hard mode is even worst, they kept on dying when you all they have to do was take cover. When random teleportion add to the raid, raid team are going to be more close knit, for experience player

I have not done the full VOG. I was invited last night to join a group but it was just for the final fight and I am assuming since I did not go through the entire mission I literally got nothing equipment wise from the experience.

Have you gone through with inexperienced Guardians?? I have, not that I am overly experienced myself and I will tell you it's a lot more fun with people who need a little help. The sense of accomplishment is greater when Atheon bites the dust. This new update is good btw, I myself may not be a master at any one job in Atheons chamber but I can and have done them all.

Edited by YungDiCapri0: 10/18/2014 2:11:51 PMI really don't get it, some people really think they'll bash through the raid first try, it takes some tries to actually get a feeling for what is going on in VoG. Every player is inexperienced at first. Me and my team, it took us about 5 tries to kill the first boss, the first for tries lasted about 3 hours. Today, with enough repetition we clear the raid in 40 minutes - 1 hour, stop complaining and keep on trying guys ;)

Nah it'll basically just add 2 wipes to every pug. Most people know what to do. The relic isn't hard to use. It'll be annoying for me though because I use specific weapons based on whether I'm portal or outside group. I guess it's just going to be voc, 77 wiz and gjallahorn from now on. Which is kind of stale.

there is nothing to stop a player from getting to the gatekeeper phase and practicing with the relic alone after killing the ads.

1 ReplyEdited by Z3N-me: 10/18/2014 11:48:15 AMThis will make it harder for new people to get to grips with the mechanics because there is no guarantee they will be sent through the portal, and when they eventually do they may panic because they aren't sure whats going on. Then when they wipe there is no guarantee they will be sent through again, this will frustrate and put new people off doing the raid at all. Don't really see the point, yeah it's good for everyone to do every job, but this is a poor way of going about it. Sure sort the cheesing out, sure implement this in hard mode, but for normal where people are learning, it's possibly the worst thing you could do.

Learn how to use the shield.. you might die a couple of times and mess up but once you get it down it like riding a bike, you never forget.

Now that I am Level 30 here is my list for a successful raid 1hour~ Level 30 Only Class : don't care Weapons : no 276 attack n - Special Perk : No Mexican, PR, Peru, no QC, no EU. Only Canada/U.S You : OMG SO RACIST !!! Me : I don't like language barrier and trash internet players... and yes I am racist (blame dota2) .... same goes for you =)
