*NOTE: this post is in regards to the upcoming patch that will cause any 3 random people to be teleported during the Atheon fight, regardless of location.*
Good job Bungie.
I can see it now,
*3 players get teleported*
"Ok who will take the relic?"
"Uh, I'm not great with it"
"____ You should take it"
"Ok then I will take it."
*2 Oracles have already spawned*
*Minotaur is Half way up the stairs*
*blind by third oracle waiting for cleanse cool down*
Or better yet
LFG for VoG Have To Be Experienced With Relic, No Inexperienced Players. No Players below ____ Level. Must have 300 damage weapons, must be _____ subclass.
EDIT: This post is not about me, I'm speaking for the potential new players that will try the raid.

1 ReplyYou sound butthurt. Anyone has access to youtube, so anyone can look up guides on hiw the raid goes. As faf as inexperiencex I run it everyday even if I dont need just to help out. Just because you had bad experiences it doesnt mean is the same for everyone. Also, if people are forming their own groups they are more than welcome to restrict it to whoever they want. I'm just Saiyan.

2 RepliesWith this being said, I always ask who is the away team and we make a person the "Relic" person and he is incharge of the relic. Also a back-up relic holder just incase he bites the dust.
-
They are the ones that forgot at one time that they were inexperienced raiders once. I'll take vault virgins anytime.
-
1 ReplyI'm almost sorry your blade dancer huntard is useless, and no one wants you around due to your incompetence.
-
1 ReplyNope. Went through with two people who've never done it before 4 weeks after it came out.
-
7 RepliesI fail to see the point of this thread.
-
I believe I would still help randoms and inexperienced players because I'm already level 30 and completed everything fun to me, so might as well help other players and allow others to have the same troubling fun experience I did.
-
Lol exactly how it's gonna be man

2 RepliesPersonally won't be taking inexperienced players. I've taken many in the past in order to bring them through the raid for the first time and teach em the basics. You could give them a role and they would get to see the raid and learn as we went. Now for Atheon there will be no roles therefore no newcomers. Sorry, I just don't want to be on Atheon for an hour plus.

5 RepliesI'm an experienced vault player and I'd gladly take inexperienced players in. I understand many don't like the idea of randoms getting teleported but it allows everyone to understand every role and perform any role incase called upon. It's not going to take hours to teach somebody, yes I understand some people aren't the quickest of learners but I recently went through the raid with 3 people who didn't never experienced the raid, if your a good leader of guardians you shouldn't have a problem teaching as your playing. Those 3 also beat the raid and were flawless in doing so. I can understand some people will be agitated but it can be rewarding taking people through and teaching them (pun intended) some patience and time never hurt nobody in helping new people. It'll make everyone a more complete guardian..

3 RepliesVoG matchmaking, I can see it now... Aaaaand it'll end terribly.

5 RepliesEdited by BrokenLance: 10/18/2014 5:24:27 PMyawn, so what's the metric, only 5% of players have tried and completed the raid? That's because the other 95% (the inexperienced) will be out of here in 2 weeks as the november console game deluge begins. Bungie doesn't care about them, they already have their money. Hopefully you realize this.

Edited by Wildfire054: 10/18/2014 5:48:36 PMIt's not that hard to explain if you've done it once. You might die a few times but you'd do that anyway. I think it's good that they are randomizing it. Im tired of getting the right pillar lol.
-
5 RepliesMy first time through was with a more experienced party. I was the only one who hadn't completed it. Just listen and don't try and be a hero on your first run and you should be OK. Hardest part for me was the damn jumping puzzle.

1 ReplyI have not done VoG at all and would love to. Xbox One btw. Same GT as here. However. When I started doing strikes, I had no idea how to do them. I have noticed that sometimes we all just click and we blow through the mission like it was nothing. Sometimes I die over and over because some people are lonewolfing it and looking for glory. Not caring about their team. Not taking fire or flanking to keep a mate in trouble from dying. It all depends on the people. Some people will learn. When they learn, they become valued assets that may even carry over into other games or consoles. Everybody starts out as a noob. They get better. The more people you know that have experience on your friend list will mean the more pickups you have. Take in 5 experienced and 1 not so. Send one with him/her so they know where to go and what to do. You don't have to fill your whole team with them.
-
To be fair, these are the only people that should be looking for raids to begin with. If you are inexperienced, grab other inexperienced players and learn together. That's how all us "experienced" players got started, why should you have someone holding your hand throughout the raid? just saying.
-
I dont see the fuss honestly.

5 RepliesXB1: Raid, hard, last checkpoint, need people who know how to push Atheon off the edge. Message: IDark IMarine will take newbz
-
6 RepliesIt's cause inexperienced players will screw the raid up I had all 6 my players experienced we beat atheon after the 2nd teleport a inexperienced will be standing at the back wanting to teleport they get teleported but they are shooting the enemies not the oracles this is 100% truthful
-
2 RepliesI've run it three times this week with inexperienced players, twice last night alone. I was already explaining what was going on/what to do to multiple people the whole time, this won't make that much off a difference. This patch only affects the final encounter, which used to be the second shortest. It's going to make it harder and take longer, yes, but I welcome these changes. Now we'll have to adapt quicker and learn more than one role in order to kill Atheon.

Luckily, I know my place in and outside of the teleport. I stay on Venus side and take care of ads. I take care of Oracles inside. I could take care of ads too. Suros and Red Death Stumbles are so nice. I don't mind taking new people through, but I've had bad experience with being the only experienced player. People trying to do their own thing. Shoving off my suggestions because I'm new to the group and this obviously means I don't know what I'm talking about.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Dead Eye: 10/18/2014 2:04:28 PMThat's another reason to add matchmaking to raids because gamers will at least be able to practice and get better. But now the only people who'll help are real life friends but it is hard to find 6 playing the same game
-
for the hard raid you need people who know what they're doing. there are differences in tactics between the hard and normal raid, and those who are unfamiliar with what to do are just going to keep dying and waste time. you might ask, well how do i obtain this knowledge? there are guides online that walk you through parts of the raid step by step. i understand some things take practice, and i have no problem wiping several times so you get the hang of the routine, but i will get pissed if you keep using strategies that dont work that keep getting you killed.
-
2 RepliesLol you gotta find that group of 6 that all just click and trust each other and can do their jobs constantly without being told. Raids are easy if you have a good leader and people who trust that leader and his judgment in situations
-
2 RepliesI took my girlfriend through the raid for her first time after last reset. Hardest part for her was the disappearing blocks :D she wants to go again next week! I løvē her so much haha
she's awesome <3
7 RepliesEdited by Le Butthurting: 10/18/2014 3:04:27 PMI'll happily take people through the raid. My gt is Butthurting. I'll be on tonight if anyone wants help. As long as you're willing to listen and are at least a 26 I'll run through it with you and show you what you need to do to win it. Anyone with a sunsinger warlock would be helpful because well be pushing the Templar off and getting the secret chest for him not teleporting. I'll be on around 8-9 eastern time. I need to do the raid twice tonight so I can take two groups, first come first serve. I'll probably take 3-4 newbies that way my friends can play too and it'll be easier. Xbox one
