*NOTE: this post is in regards to the upcoming patch that will cause any 3 random people to be teleported during the Atheon fight, regardless of location.*
Good job Bungie.
I can see it now,
*3 players get teleported*
"Ok who will take the relic?"
"Uh, I'm not great with it"
"____ You should take it"
"Ok then I will take it."
*2 Oracles have already spawned*
*Minotaur is Half way up the stairs*
*blind by third oracle waiting for cleanse cool down*
Or better yet
LFG for VoG Have To Be Experienced With Relic, No Inexperienced Players. No Players below ____ Level. Must have 300 damage weapons, must be _____ subclass.
EDIT: This post is not about me, I'm speaking for the potential new players that will try the raid.

2 RepliesYou should do regular mode and train with the relic at the templar and rotate until everyone is good with it. It aint hard
-
3 RepliesTo be totally honest im f**** sick to invite people for the raid on hard and they enter with blue weapons as lvl 29er. This is horrible! Nothing is wrong with booting people that simply refuse to gather material to upgrade their weapons if you ask me. We can run strikes together and you can toy around with white gear but in endgame content you have to enter prepared!
-
3 RepliesI think that Bungie should allow for trading if when they do this patch. I have a lot of fully upgraded vision of confluences that tear up oracles and I would love to give them to some inexperienced guardians so they can thwart the vault easily in the future.
-
Well those not exactly sure how the relic works better start doing research is not HARD AT ALL! Pretty simple. LB/L1: Hold for 2-3 sec once charged for cleanse RT/R2: For smash attack with relic/slam if done midair RB/R1: For faster but lower attack with relic Super: shots the shield... Very useful against pretorians/minotaurs That should be it, if I miss something anyone feel more than welcome to add
-
False.
-
4 RepliesSo how about stop complaining and learn how to use the relic and kill oracles. I hated doing the relic but learned to do it myself. Kudos for bungie making ya lazy people actually do what you got to do in the run.
-
2 RepliesIf they fix this boss, they should at least FIX THE MINOTAUR'd lifebar, reviving mobs etc. otherwise the team is just dying cause of those bugs(2 only being ported, reviving mobs, relic attacks hit but dont hurt...) Bungie is good in fixing what could help people but real bugs that cause lot of fails, they re never taken out ;)

I will take inexperienced people into the vog

Edited by Titan: 10/19/2014 2:40:07 PMYou buy a book, get it home only to find there's a chapter inside that you can't read by yourself. You have to make friends and read it with others at the same time. Each person has to read a paragraph in turn for everyone to finish the storyline. Oh, and these reading groups don't like new readers, so good luck finding a group, oh and the book publisher won't help you find similar people either. They think it would ruin the experience. I'm quite annoyed with this book I bought with real money that I worked for. The problem is being forced to make friends, like in my mid 40's Bungie know me better than I know myself, and they believe that if they force a certain playing experience on everyone - that we'll all enjoy it the same because we all have exactly the same personality.
-
i was fine with taking a few inexperienced players in but now theres no way, im not going to spend an hour on atheon because some moron cant press the right trigger to use the relic..... i wish bungie would fix their fing bugs instead of nerfing guns and being a pain in the arse.... BUNGIE SORT YOUR PRIORITIES OUT BEFORE WE ALL GET SICK OF YOUR CRAP !!!!

Posted this new strategy. This should help out with some people confusion if we can get most people to know it. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/73912423/0/0

I am a pro in raid. who wants to hire me? 50$ per hour XD

The issue isn't inexperience - the vault mechanics are not something that require any level of intellect to understand. Instead, the issue is not having high enough levels. This might sound like some exclusivity tip, but it's not. In a situation where a 26 or 27 died and wiped the team - a 28 or 29 would have survived and kept the fight going. It's not a matter of "You're 29 so you have this much skill" it's a matter of "This enemy does X damage and you can only take Y amount so you die."

Edited by Aftrshoq: 10/19/2014 4:44:45 PMTook alot of VoG-newbies with me. I don't mind, if it doesn't work, we try again. The relic isn't any different (controls) from the Sword of Crota except for the cleansing. I took a group of 5 new players with me the third time i played the VoG. It took us 2 hours to complete and i didn't even touch any of the relics. So yeah, with a good communication and explenation any new raider can get used to the relic. So if people want to learn the VoG, you can always add me on Xbox One. (GT: Aftershoq BE) I'll be glad to help some fellow gamers through their first run. :)

And I still haven't completed the vault once. When I get to the second boss, my team always have a hard time getting the artifacts.
-
2 Repliesyeah, both sides have points. To all you hardcores, no one is trying to take away your speedruns or your ever so precious loot. But to you REAL gamers, just keep doing what you've continued to do. help your fellow guardians, show them the light. There was a time where you were a new raider too, never forget. Anyone on XBOX ONE add SPUNKY1993. If I'm online and i have time, chances are I'll always be down to help raiders. good luck guardians :]

This new patch just shows how bungie is full of idiots I mean I have no problem beating the raid on hard with my group but I remember my earlier tries and how frustrating it was to have the boss's health at a minuscule only to be F'd by the teleporting and having to restart because of it. Now I can only imagine how frustrating it's gonna be to other people who are about to beat it on hard for the first time then all 29s get teleported because not everyone's a lvl 30 and they obviously won't be able to one hit the hobgoblins while on he other hand they one shot the hell outta you and don't get me started on the minotaur.

1 ReplyAbsolutes will hurt you in life.

Destiny! Only the strong survive!!

Edited by frosty2007: 10/19/2014 2:52:36 PMI would try to but knowing how hard it is to play with people that don't understand one job we have to now try to show them two or three at once. I usually run relic in new groups just because it's easier and they just want to get the drops anyway. So now it's going to be chaos encarnata when all you hear is " oh my god I got teleported what do I do? Dropped the relic grab it! I don't want it! What are those giant glowing orbs in the sky? Run back through the portal I can't do this!"
-
All of us, no matter how good you are had to go into the raid "cold" atleast once. All of us spent hours and hours trying to solve a puzzle or a fight. And for us to invite someone that never done it... It's just a waste of time and effort. Experienced crew could clear it in 40 mins while bringing one or two could take us a hour to two. So let the inexperienced suffer and whine because the experienced had to do the same.
-
8 RepliesGood we don't need noobs in a raid
-
… ill take inexperienced players anyday it depends on what they got, i prefer 27+ and i don't care if they r inexperienced they just have to work well with other people, now that i got atheons epilogue and icebreaker from killing atheon yesterday i will be able to help and work well with inexperienced people, in every raid i have done there was at least 1 inexperienced player
-
Guess they better make learnin parties

9 RepliesEdited by NinoMH: 10/19/2014 3:33:09 AMThe entire "inexperienced" debate and argument becomes moot if you actually clear the events prior to getting to atheon. The raid takes care of teaching people everything there is to know. Noone's a hero. everyone learns early on how to keep a plate clear (the entrance to the raid teaches everyone in the fireteam the mechanic) everyone learns how to kill oracles and what happens if you don't, in the event prior to the templar, it's the entire point of the event. to get you familiar with them. The only true possible issues of the change, is with the relic alone, and even that is not rocket science or difficult at all to understand. A few minutes and a couple of tries, and everyone can understand the concept. (a mission early on in the game shows you something similar) - and IF you are taking inexperienced players through, you have a couple of minutes to explain, and patience for a couple of tries. If you don't, then we go back to all of this being moot. The raid prepares you and teaches you how to deal with every single mechanic in the Atheon encounter prior to actually getting there. If as a player, you don't know that by the time you reach the final encounter, you haven't been paying attention AT ALL and you need to GTFO and stop raiding altogether. It will take a week tops for most people to adapt. If that. And the whole LFG No Inexperienced players, yada yada bullshit at the end, happens anyways, regardless of the change. Dicks will be dicks either way.
