TLDR: You have more content day 1 than any other FPS on the market has and probably more than every cod combined. Shut up.
Are people still bitching about this? You have moon, earth, Mars and Venus to explore, each with 5 or so story missions each, each with multiple strikes and a patrol mission that has a ton of mini missions inside.
Then, you have weekly strikes, tiger strikes, weekly nightfalls and one of the best console gaming experiences to date in the raid.
That's just PVE. You also have a PVP that is as good as any in a shooter with new playlists from events that will improve and evolve over time, each bringing unique gear, ships and shaders.
You can customize your guardian with any combo of gear, weapons, shaders and vehicles AS WELL as having 2 (right now) unique classes within the races for you to level and gain rep in.
Speaking of gaining rep, you have multiple venders to buy weapons from as well as multiple factions to level up and buy gear from that all require rep and marks. That takes awhile to max.
You can also do daily bounties to increase rep and experience. That also adds to the game experience.
That is all in the first month.
Basically, if you are bitching about lack of content you fall into one of the following groups:
1. Expected destiny to have everything available day 1
2. Are an entitled douche
3. Have not reached 30 light yet
OR (and most likely)
4. You play WAY TOO MUCH.
As a casual player myself, I constantly have new things to do because I only play 4-5 hours a week, at best.
Sorry if this post is WAYY too long, but I thought it needed to be said.

Edited by ODonnTVonTwitch: 10/10/2014 3:40:05 PMHasn't played a full 24 hours yet. Your opinion is moot. And before someone says that doesn't matter: Would you get in a plane with someone who has 20 flight hours? Would you take marriage advice from someone who was never married? I'm sure you can think of other examples.
-
I've now played a day and 30 mins. Is my opinion valid now?
-
No. Play more before you spew your opinions on people.
-
Funny, I didn't know I needed your approval or minimum time played.
-
Yet you keep replying.
-
In short, it didn't.
-
Bungie could buy everyone a 350k house and they would still bitch because they still have to pay the electric bill.

Edited by MikeCopa: 10/10/2014 9:02:25 AMThe reason the play spaces sound so big is because they're called planets, in reality every map is just built like a circle. Every circle has a different theme, now look at Borderlands 2 for example… The strikes, really? Sure they can give them fancy names, the problem is every damn strike playlist gives you the same set of strikes. The raid is very good, not gonna lie but we're talking about content here - it's still just a single raid. Yup, PvP is just like any other game out there but the events are a joke because basically you get the exact same content under a different name with gear that's next to useless cause raid gear is the only way to reach max rank. "You can customize your guardian with any combo of gear, weapons, shaders and vehicles" just to realize you can't reach level 30 without the raid equipment. I guess one could argue that style is more important than level but I don't get the fact that they do "events" and give you new gear even though it doesn't come close to the raid stuff, thereby being useless to a lot of high ranking Guardians. "… AS WELL as having 2 (right now) unique classes within the races for you to level and gain rep in" - One could argue that it's a good thing the classes don't vary too much but the races make ABSOLUTELY ZERO difference which is absolutely stupid and a waste of potential. "Speaking of [grinding] rep, you have multiple venders [selling the same gear with slightly different colors and stats] to buy weapons from as well as multiple factions to level up and buy gear from that all require rep and marks. That takes awhile to max [because the missions themselves reward you with little rep]. "You can also do daily bounties to increase rep and experience. That also adds to the game experience." And in which way does that add content? It's easy to create a system for those challenges but you're basically doing the same missions to grind them anyways. Now on to your extremely offensive statement: 1. Because they promised us a shitload of content 2. You get angry because you can't accept that there's people out there with different opinions other than yours. 3. That makes no sense. 4. Other games have survived the "you play too much" statement as well because they offer much more content. It's great that you enjoy the content as a casual player, the hardcore players however don't have enough content and exactly this is why Destiny as a game doesn't have enough content. I'll say it again, there's many other games which have survived the countless hours hardcore players put into them and still offer something new to experience.
-
Lol, now much content did you really expect? What exactly did you expect? If the massive "maps" are not big enough for you, then your expectations were very high. As for the hardcore players, if you play anything 5-6+ hours a day then of course it might get old. Any game would. As for the species not mattering.. Lol. They clearly matter, as do the classes within them.
-
Massive living, breathing worlds - just like Bungie promised. They're big, but they're not massive. They're structure is lame cause you always have to traverse through the same places to get to a specific location, they're not really "connected" if you understand what I'm trying to say nor are they alive in any way. You can hardly interact with anything in the environment. Agreed, my expectations where high, it's Bungie's fault for advertising Destiny as a game changer, which it clearly isn't. It's not bad by any means but it's anything else than a revolutionary thing. Lastly, try to explain in what way your species matters. Cause you do different dance moves? Lol no.
-
That was going to be my question. How do the races matter?
-
It has to be the different dance moves, I'm sure lol
-
actually....most CoD's/Battlefield/Generic shooters have more content day 1. As I personally played almost everyshooter that has come out on ps3/360 Im pretty confident in my assumption.
-
Thats a joke right?
-
Hunting for gear/bounties is the same as Prestige/Camo unlocks-Ranking up to Unlock weapons/performing skill kills etc etc
-
You obviously dont know the term content.
-
Everything is re-hashed. Iron banner is only slightly different than normal PvP, nightfall is just a hard mode on a strike, the raid is fun but you can only play that so much til you get bored, Queens wrath is literally a rehash of all the campaign missions, level 20 being " a whole new experience" isn't true at all. It just means more grinding. It has all been cut out for DLC.
-
What kills me is the 7 day wait until i can do the raid again
-
I'd just like to say 1. I expected a lot more content 2. I'm not entitled at all 3. I work and go to school full time and take care of my duties at home as a father and husband; and I'm level 30. There really wasn't a lot of content released for this game. I definitely think they should have postponed it.
-
Im totally agree with you man, come to Argentina and be our president pls :P But seriously Im agree with you, and I bought my PS4 system when I saw this game at the E3 2013, I just fall in love, now Im disapointed. I spect more story content :(
-
Everything in the game is cookie cut and carbon copied from 4 pieces of content, just giving you different reasons to play the same 4 pies of content from different directions, and sometimes with different enemies. Sometimes they even repeat the same reasons with different names. Can you tell me how an Induction Coil is different than a Shock Core? It's all just the same triangles popping out Enemy butts and calling them different names. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Most the time doing this stuff is still fun, but don't even try to pretend there's actual variety here. Because there absolutely isn't. And Queen's Wrath, just another cookie cutter carbon copy excuse to grind the exact same bounties and missions we already done a hundred times previously for some slightly different gear, which became useless after 3 QW missions because they nerfed Shard breakdown.
-
lol awesome
-
Even cod has better story than destiny. Also, too top it all off every damn story in destiny is the same. Ghost- let me decrypt this while you fight off enemies for 20 minutes.
-
Wrong. There are less than 17 story missions in total... Do your lie about ten on each planet is wrong... Next?
-
There's 22 missions, 4 strikes and a raid. Did I say 10? If I did its a slight exaggeration and I'll fix it in the OP.
