25+ for winning, absolutely nothing for losing. If at the end of a 15 minute match you happen to be 200 points short, you get no rep. I could see 10 being a very fair reward for just participating in the iron banner. It literally takes 9.5 hours of winning every 15 minutes just to get to rank 2. This is kind of insane. Not wanting to bitch, but come on. If I happen to be placed in a team that is really good, but only a few kills (maybe a good super use) behind the other, I should at least get rep for putting 15 minutes on the board. Even winning, I don't feel as good knowing the other team tried their hardest and walked away with nothing. This lasting only a week, shouldn't they give the most rep possible so as everyone would enjoy it?

4 RepliesThe narrator wasn't kidding when he says "Show them no mercy!" Iron banner is not for noobs (not calling you a noob, just speaking in generalities). Iron banner is also not for random teams The shining stars of iron banner are the well rounded players who have both a sharp aim and a armada of gear to back them up. The shining stars aren't just the individual players, it's the organized groups and clans that form to absolutely crash their enemies. The bounties themselves are made to fan out the weak. "Kill 10 Guardians without dying" "Receive the highest score in a match" "win 5 games in a row. Losses restart the counter" "Earn 15 headshot killing sprees" "Earn 25 triple kills" "Hold a node the entire match without loosing it". The list goes on. Iron banner isn't meant to reward the weak, it is meant to crush them. Only the most competitive survive here. Even deeper into it, only the most hardcore players thrive here. If you do not like the no rewards, then maybe iron banner isn't for you.

2 RepliesNo mercy in this dojo.

use the freaking bounties, that's what they are there for, if you use the items from the shop you also get extra rep.

Yeah, only Control? The actual level advantages bullshit aside, making the only gamemode a team based one is a massive let down. I'm going to straight out say that probably 70% of the players in Crucible are rubbish. Getting 2-3000 points above anyone in your team, sometimes even your whole teams score combined, an not getting rewarded (besides 1 -blam!-ing blue engram, if I'm lucky) just highlights how bad some of Bungie's decisions and promises are just massive let downs. I say this after the multiple hour maintenance Bungie had on their severs, only to be completely disconnected for the past 30 minutes for the first time.

7 RepliesI both agree and disagree with you. Given that it's a hardcore event, it makes sense that you should be trying your damnedest to win, and that you're being rewarded for displaying that you're the best of the best, baddest of the bad, and most powerful dude. It rewards the skilled and the strong, and crushes the weak and the inept. That said, I'm getting utterly drained beyond all belief to the point of not even wanting to play this event because I don't have incredible gear, I'm not very good, and the mechanics of Destiny generally make very little sense to me. I can't hit someone with a shotgun from five feet away and even do respectable damage, while someone ten feet away utterly annihilates me or power-slides into me and blasts me partway through. I don't know very many people so I don't have a team to assemble, and playing with random people is setting yourself up for failure. Nobody seems to understand how important the Control points are, so I'm left running around trying desperately to retake as many of them as I can, essentially playing a game of Ring-Around-the-Control-Points as my team constantly loses them time after time, holding only whichever one I just completed taking-- Or started, in some cases. It's nerve-wracking and honestly makes me just sigh every time I die because none of my team is anywhere near me, they're not attempting to complete the objective, or they're incapable of completing an objective. I spend fifteen minutes trying my hardest for that win, and my team just isn't good enough. More often than not, I'm not the best player in the world. I'm usually mediocre and I'll admit it. I'm only playing because I desperately want the Iron Banner equipment. Honestly, if there's any good players out there who're winning consistently and don't mind having someone who's not incredible but tries to hold their own and would let me tag along, I'd gladly accept an invite from them.

Iron banner isn't meant to reward the weak. Win or go home...or to the tower or wherever our guardians sleep.

3 RepliesEdited by Aurik Kal Durin: 10/8/2014 6:24:42 AMWhat really bugs me is it's Control, and that gametype really punishes you if your teammates don't know what they're doing. Two games in a row, on Firebase Delphi, my team kept throwing themselves at Zone B, basically just feeding the other team kills. Not once did they consider going for Zone A, or Zone C, both of which were completely unguarded. I ended up trying to take those zones by myself, only to lose them when two guys from Zone B jumped me... while the rest of my team played cannon fodder. Lost by nearly 10,000 points both times. Idiots. My point? I wouldn't mind the rules in Iron Banner so much if my teammates weren't so g**damn stupid.

You deserve nothing for losing, bungie finally got something right. Dont like it? Find/Meet better players or friends. Oh shit...that means you might have to....'socialize' *gasp*

1 ReplyMaybe we wouldn't lose so much if people didn't quit 2 minutes in because they are behind ... Because there is nothing for losing.

Dat entitlement tho

2 RepliesEdited by The-Iron-Duke: 10/8/2014 6:19:19 AMSo you should get stuff for losing now? Is this a serious post?
-
I haven't lost a match yet, so no.
-
Teams wins games in Iron Banner not 1 person and if you feel you deserve better rewards work harder so you can carry the less skilled people. I'm used to playing League of Legends were if you lose you have things taken away imo I'd rather have just lost a match rather than lost a match and let's say rep or xp.

Wait, what? This event only lasts a week.... -_-' Why bother than...

No. It's a competitive PvP mode. If you want casual play and rewards for all the shitty losers and afkers go play crucible. It's exactly how it should be. Play to win. Reward for winning. nothing for losing. Makes perfect sense. Why give MORE free gear to people who suck like Queens wrath?

2 RepliesThese public events are becoming a joke. Same bounties, rewards that are probably not better than your current one, and just the pure repetitiveness of it makes me sick. I hope one of these public events can redeem itself by actually adding new content into the game that is actually worth doing.

no, i completely agree with you. after 4 hours of getting NOTHING, no matter how well i played, i gave up on iron banner, period. for good. i completely agree with you. when the losing team gets nothing, regardless of your performance (as it is the team - perhaps not you - that lost), and you have 12-freaking-hundred points just for level 2 -- no. no thank you. i have better things to do with my time.

1 ReplyLast week: " bungie why the -blam!- you rewarding da losers if they lost This week: " bungie reward da losrs, because we -blam!-ing lost "Bungie Forums the forums for Illiterates

No the iron banner is for winners, it's supposed to be hard and reward you for winning. Can't won solo? Then maybe you should make some friends and join together. If you want something for just showing up then go to an elementary school gym class, I hear they give out participation trophies nowadays

I love Destiny! It's I shooter I that I left Call Of Dury for and I'm happy of my decision. Destiny is something new for me and alot of other players out there. COD was getting really old now but Destiny is what you would call a "Fresh Start." Ok Destiny has alot of its good qualities and not so good qualities but give it some time people, like ssriously the game is about a month old now and there's alot to be considered on how long the game will leave its struggle pattern. Eventually I hope to see Destiny filled with content that will captivate me. ~ Why rain pain on a game that that Bungie is trying to put in the right lane but yet some people stay playing anyway? some of ya'll haters complaints are irrelevant the things you be hating on come out not rather intelligent, haters stay on this nonsense. When they get logic brought to them they want to stop it and drop it. - Have faith in Destiny
-
That's not the point of iron banner it's basically you win you get rewarded you lose too bad that's why is competitive and not casual

Edited by RhymesWithMoose: 10/8/2014 4:55:27 AMAs far as your math goes, you're missing two things: Bounties, and the rep-rate increase (10% each) you get for equipping Iron Banner Emblems, Shaders, and Class Items. And while it's only lasting a week, it's not a one-time thing. We'll see the Iron Banner come back, and you'll have the same rep. And setting that aside, you're completely missing the point of the Iron Banner.

My first 2 matches I got the best score out of both teams.. I tried hard cuz I know you don't get anything if you lose... At the end of the matches with me being on top I didn't get anything... But the people who were at the bottom at least got a strange coin and a pistol.... Still broken loot system... Come out on top and you might not get shit.... BTW you still get gear if you lose.. Just not rep
-
I played and won 4 games yesterday. I had no idea you get nothing for losing. That's awesome.
-
I don't think a team should get rep if they lose. What I would like to see is more rep for the top scorer even if they're on the losing team. Kinda sucks that the best player not be rewarded for the rest of the team being incompetent.
