It says the Titan's helmet stops the slug, it never said the Titan lived.

True. For all we know the Titan's helmet stopped the slug by slowing its momentum down so that it doesn't exit out the other side.

The hunter helm cant stop a kabal slug either

It didn't say anything about the Hunter getting shot with the Cabal slug. Only the Titan.
