It's official. They sold out. Now if you pre-order and purchase Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare you get a Destiny armor shader. REALLY?? Activision, leave the -blam!-ing games seperate. FFS. People that play GREAT games made by a GREAT company (ie- Destiny and the makers of Halo) Shouldn't have ANYTHING to do with a shit name like Call of Duty. I'm sad of this crossover promotion. Now we can see this all the time between the two... Great.

41 RepliesEdited by Etrius619: 9/2/2014 1:23:14 PMYou're looking at it all wrong. What they have given us is a way to spot call of duty players among the crowd so you know who to avoid when forming a fireteam.

It's not like we didn't know this a week ago when they posted the damn advertisement for it. who cares. it's activisions game and they can do whatever they damn well please to market it
-
It's called excellent marketing that gets people to buy both games.
-
EERRMAHGERD! THER BER PROMERTING ERTHER GAERM!! BURNGER YUR SERLERT!!
-
3 RepliesBut they are published by the same company though, and CoD is consisent in the top 5 best selling games every year, it makes sense to cross promote. Also you don't actually have to BUY the game, you can cancel your pre-order at any time if you want. I had already pre-ordered CoD there before this promo, it was a pleasant surprise to get an email with my Blacksmith Armor code shortly after it was annouced. If I'm so inclined I could cancel said CoD preorder now and still have my code. At the end of the day it's just a couple of colors.
-
I dislike it as much as everyone else that knows good games from bad ones (cod) but I pre-ordered it to give as an extremely late bday gift for a friend bit keeping the shader
-
2 RepliesAh marketing. Capable of raising interest, sales, and ire. All at the same time.
-
1 ReplyYou can cancel your preorder and keep the shader, shh dont tell anybody though its a secret.
-
I don't know what's wrong with you

I love how many people call CoD a shit game yet own more than one of their games. CoD is pretty much the best fast pace shooter out there, sure each new game isn't much different, but when a game makes a big change to their recipe everyone complains. Can't satisfy people. I do agree they shouldn't cross content like that however.

8 RepliesCod is exactly 1 billion times better than Destiny. Damn titan fall cod diablo 3 rip off. I don't care if you want to be a cool nerd by dissing the best game in the world. I came out my room this morning and my cod ghosts disc was shitting on my halo collection. True story. Its just that good. Destiny is just a rip off of Halo so therefore it's a fact that Cod is better than Halo and Destiny combined. Get a tissue, rub salt on it, go forth and multiply. I don't care if you think I am wrong, you were wrong by making this thread. Also your stats are bad and you should feel bad. All jokes aside that shader is pretty nice. This is my first year not pre ordering Cod in a few too many. Not even the shader could entice me to do that. I will wait for my poor retarded friends to tell me it plays well again but after playing Destiny I doubt I will play anything else this year if it has a good end game. Over and out.
-
I dont like the shader, but even if I did I wouldn't care. I'm fairly sure it's obtainable without preordering cod, seems to me you just get access to it right away instead of having to earn it
-
Can't believe that dog shit Cod is still around. When the F are retards going to get tiered of the same old shit?
-
The reason why you get the shader is because Activision have invested $500,000,000 into Bungie and the Destiny Franchise, and because Activision are makers of CoD that's why is has come to this, but FCUK this SH*T.......... DESTINY ALL THE WAY- BECOME LEGEND
-
I know right! Now this affects everything!! Cancels at the ready!!!
-
Edited by Ushan: 9/2/2014 5:26:48 PMI'm sorry that you feel something as insignificant as a simple armour shader is something to rant about and I'm sorry that you don't realize that this is likely Activision's doing rather than Bungie's.
-
I love the CoD hate. I now call it CoDism.
-
old news.
-
Calm down. Bungie probably don't have much say in it. Activision IS the producer for both games. So they have all the right.
-
Edited by Ranger: 9/2/2014 8:07:00 PMThought it was just pre-order only? Edit: Cleaver actually... This might've been written in any agreement with Activision. I picked up Starhawk, before doing so, pre-ordered Twisted Metal, received a special Sweet Tooth skin for doing it. Freaking hair on fire with a machete! Was the only rifter on the map with my hair on fire. Turned a few heads!

2 Repliesi'm sorry but i don't understand all of the hate on Call of Duty. i realize that it has been the same thing since the first modern warfare but that was an amazing game. And all of the others (save from ghosts) were really solid games with good fast paced gameplay and tight accurate controls.
-
Shhhhh who cares
-
You should redirect your anger to Activision unfortunately
-
15 RepliesCall of duty isn't that bad. Why does it get so much hate?
-
Someone has been getting their a$# handed to in call of duty lately. ...sheesh...

Edited by gallp13: 9/2/2014 7:51:32 PMNot Bungie its Activision cross selling as the publicist. Unfortunately you make yourself look silly :(
