I mean they have a standing army more than a million strong. Each member of that army can wade into battle outnumbered 100:1 and still win. Not only that but they are IMMORTAL. Killing a guardian only pisses them off.
No worries your city is protected by millions of immortal juggernauts. With magical powers to boot.

2 RepliesActually you're wrong. If a guardians ghost is destroyed, the guardian won't last long. Pure numbers go a long way and the darkness is a force to be reckoned with.
-
Gardians are given life from the Traveler. Why is the darkness at war with the Traveler who gives life to any thing even exos.. There is no record of the darkness bringing life into dead things.... The Golden age. The goasts can power spaceships with there very small bodys.. We are dealing with very powerful powers indeed.

1 ReplyEdited by gingernutty: 8/12/2014 1:39:39 PMMost of said Guardians scream at their enemies in their last dying breath before disappearing into thin air: a phenomenon known as a "Quit of Enragement", surely such fierce Guardians are too dangerous to live amongst us in the Last City. Thank the Traveller that they're too preoccupied with dancing in the Tower, those Guardians are insane...

But, Darkness is 3Spooky5Me

Honestly I hope they make the last sentence of your main paragraph the main slogan of the game well done sir

The Darkness should just coat the whole planet. Bam. Done.

3 RepliesEdited by riceNpea: 8/12/2014 12:08:38 PMDon't know why the aliens don't just Death Star the Earth from the hemisphere of the planet the Traveller isn't protecting.
-
2 RepliesYeah but most of those guardians are too busy killing each other for "sport" to even worry about the darkness.
-
8 RepliesYou really dont understand the true power of the Darkness. It's pretty huge and i dont really know much about it, but rest assured it's going to hit hard
-
22 RepliesActually that vast majority of people in the city are non-combatants. Civilians, Politicians, Doctors, Engineer Etc Etc. The Guardians are deceased individuals that have the potential to wield The Travelers light. We are not immortal due to us finding dead Guardians and Ghosts on our missions. Our immortality is purely gameplay based. If anyone is familiar with Attack on Titan the last city is the inner wall. If it falls well then humanity is -blam!-ed. The people in the city are fat, lazy and have grown complacent. We fight back the darkness but if we had this standing army as you stated don't you think there would have been an awesome Halo situation where you and 50 NPC guardians drop out of Orbit onto the moon to check shit out. Instead it's just you and sometimes another scouting and exploring an area.

Edited by xEPCx: 8/12/2014 6:17:36 AMBecause we're not even soldiers... We're just the selected few of billions of people who are capable of utilizing the Light...? We were basically asked to help. There should so be a split in "sides" in endgame.. like Guardians of the Light, Followers of the Darkness, and some neutral faction of "Guardians".. Ah.. too much Soul Sacrifice...
-
8 RepliesEdited by aboniks: 8/11/2014 4:59:25 PMBecause the City is populated almost exclusively with worthless cowards? They've got the technology on hand to defend themselves indefinitely with no fear of death. So...they decided to bring back dead people with no memories to do their fighting for them instead. The City...you're not allowed in for a reason: Guardians are a disposable slave race of unutterably violent mental defectives that get paid in shiny rocks and ammunition.

Guardians arent immortal did you even play the moon mission during the beta
-
4 RepliesYes.. but the darkness made manifest or whatever form the darkness takes was enough to seriously wound the traveler.. and guardians are NOT immortal, where the lights power wains a guardians mortality grows closer and closer.. its the reason it takes longer for the light to resurrect you in areas where the power of the darkness lingers... and this is after the TRUE darkness has been driven off, a guardian so close to the darkness as to be cut off from the light is as mortal as anyone, even if still preternaturally gifted in the martial arts. If the darkness returns and extinguishes the travelers light there would be nothing to stop all of humanity from falling into the darkness's cold embrace... and the traveler lacks any ability, save the guardians to stop it from doing so.
-
3 RepliesIt's not the minions that are troubling them. It's Space Godzilla lumbering in the stars and Gamera is on life support in that ball because he got knocked the -blam!- out.
-
1 ReplyFair point. Probably why guardians have time to dance for 10hrs straight on top of the Tower post office and nobody is freaking out. In fact nobody is in a real rush to get anything done.

This kinda post is what should fill this forum!

yyeeaaaa.... but it is the LAST city so.... yea

It's not necessarily the minor threats like the Fallen or the Hive; no, they're just weeds in the garden that need to be plucked once in awhile. The main thing they need to be worried about is the ominous eldrtich horror that is the Darkness.
