Destiny will never be bigger than COD.
I don't think it will. Call of duty has been on top for years.

2 RepliesEvery one knows COD has been going down hill for a while, but this new one may change that. They need to take it in a different direction like the new one appears to be doing. Th I love COD, I mean I've played and beaten all of them. I will continue to do so. Though this is just the first game in the Destiny line up. So we've just only began to see how big Destiny will get. The reason COD is so big is 'cause the name it self. COD games could me broken down in to different series. But the COD name was already popular so they just keep slapping the same name on it 'cause they know it works to get sales. It would be like Bungie slapping the name Halo on Destiny and just say its the series just different place different time. That's what COD does and that's why it's so big, but Destiny will be bigger, no doubt from me.

Call of Duty is a photo-realistic shooter geared towards casuals. Of course it will be. Even if people don't play it, they'll still buy it.

COD ghost sold 10 mill copies less then black ops 2. I bet cod advanced warfare doesn't even break 10 mill copies. I'm a cod fan and I won't even pick up advanced warfare. It's a dying series

sales wise I have my doubts. However, considering that this is the first bungie game to be cross console I am expecting to see some big numbers anyway. I would not be surprised if the sales surpass CoD.

Destiny not bigger than cod huh? really because the fanbase for cod has been dwindling for years now and i have seen nobody who play cod for a hundred hours in a beta wait.... anybody seen a cod beta? no.... oh thats because they make a new game every 3 months because nobody can stand to play the game for hundreds of hours, i went on beta one day and was 15k in waiting to be able to log into my char because the servers filled how many times do you get in cod and not be able to play and the servers are filled up with 15k people in line to play

Ya I think that they are two completely different games. The only real thing that they have in common is that they are a FPS. I don't want COD to go away. I've had so much fun and spent so many days playing it. I hope that COD gets better.

Can't see it being bigger than the whole CoD series... There have been so many CoD games and they were good once upon a time. It might be bigger than CoD: Ghost but there is still a big CoD playerbase I'd imagine. Whether Destiny is bigger then CoD or not, it doesn't even matter anyways.

yea COD succeeds because of young kids in school where word of mouth on a game travels faster than the download speed for the game itself
