3 RepliesPs+ is not required. But you should think about it. They have some great deals.
-
It's not ridiculous considering the alternative is a $100 more expensive box that charges $10 more per year.
-
8 RepliesThats not ridiculous.. You pay for a better service. Thats why the 360 was way better then the ps3.
-
you would have to pay to play online anyway - internet connections aren't free.
-
Sony understands your rage, thats why you get priority support, free games every month and some other features. I was enraged too. But for fifty a year I'm down with it.

It's that way whether you're playing on Xbox or Playstation. Except for PS3, I believe online gaming is still free on PS3, unless they've changed it. But you'll definitely need an Xbox Live Gold or PS+ subscription to play on Xbox 360, Xbox One, & PS4.

Edited by Redmoon1991: 4/20/2014 8:54:43 PMUnfortunately for ps4 you now need to pay for ps+ to play online games (except certain ones like ESO where they worked with the publisher). The upside is that you get a free ps4 game each month and if you have a ps3 and/or vita you get another 5 games for those systems each month (total for the 2 systems, not each). I've been a subscriber since July and it has definitely been worth it. Also this helps to fund a better online infrastructure though I was happy with psn before so it's icing on the cake for me.

Play station plus is worth it

I believe free to play games attract people that arent ready to play online. I dont mind paying for Destiny if thats what it came down to.
-
10 RepliesNo you have an option to use playstaion plus or not I don't use it but I can still do the things if I would have had it it really DOSENT change much u just get free games pretty much that's it lol
-
I have Xbox live Gold. I say this because what I mean is that if had a PlayStation I would in no doubt pay for PS+, and as I've seen it comes with valuable perks such as free games and other stuff. Even if you don't won't that stuff you never know what deal Activision or Bungie will make that might come out earlier for PS+ subscribers!
-
6 RepliesWe'll, we xbox users really aren't frustrated about that.
-
Bruh all the free content you'll get for ps+ is so worth the buy even if you didn't plan on getting Destiny. So yeah definitely get ps+
-
Even though you pay 50$ for the ps+ you also get full (free) games every month. So unless you have played 10 of the 12 games you could get your still getting 120$ of games for free.
-
Impossible to say right now, could go either way. However, seeing as activision and everybody else are expecting this game to be huge, i'm guessing sony will see this as a golden opportunity to increase the number of ps+ subscribers. Same with M$ and xbox live.

9 RepliesWhere have you been for the past 8 years? That has been the norm for quite some time. PS3 you didn't have to but with PS+ you got better perks. Seriously not that big of a deal, for 50$ per year you get ~200$ worth of free games.

3 RepliesBeen under that rock a long time huh?

3 RepliesWelcome to console gaming: it's $5 per month or $60 per year to play online. Not that bad, all things considered; cheaper than other shit in the long-term.
-
I'm not clear on ps+ but I think it is just for specials and such

I usually pick up my PSN cards and Xbox live cards from people selling them on kijiji or your local buy and sell sites. Just verify that it hasn't been used before you buy it. I usually get it for half price.
-
7 RepliesXbox has been doing it for a while.

3 RepliesEdited by FairlySplendid: 4/17/2014 12:40:47 PMKeep an eye out for sales. I've seen a year of PS+ as cheap as $25.

1 ReplyEdited by too real for tv: 4/17/2014 2:30:21 AMYes, you will need PS+. PS+ does have some perks. Sales and "free" games.
