This doesn't really prove anything listed will be in Halo 5.

  • True not everyone will, but it's still something to go by. The War Sphinx is on the list and we know that's going to be in the game. So it's safe to say that others will be as well.

  • They are coming out in late 2014. Doesn't mean all of them will be, but it's suspicious nonetheless.

  • It's very similar to what happened last year when the Crawler and Watcher figures were leaked online, so there's potentially some truth in this.

  • That's what I'm reminded of. Begs the question though of whether or not the thing coming out of the sand is a War Sphinx. It doesn't exactly fit the description of "great white ape" that Cryptum gave us. =/

Aspects of the description do fit what is described in Cryptum though. (Wasn't the 'white apes' thing an effect of the baffler?)
Ahead, clearly visible now, not white apes but twelve midsize Forerunner fighting suits... now found only in museums... Each war sphinx was ten meters high and twenty long - larger than contemporary Forerunner suits that served the same function. An elongated tail contained lift and power, and from that, at the front, rose a thick, rounded torso. Atop the torso, smoothly integrated with the overall curvilinear design, perched and abstract head with a stubborn, haughty face - a command cabin. [...] three of the machines had unfolded great curved legs and now walked over the low black rock walls. Between the swinging legs and grapples hard blue light sparked and flowed. The closest of the sphinxes unfolded four arms from just below the port of its empty control cabin and spun silvery cords into a loose net. [...] The sphinx took a step closer, unfolding upper arms tipped with tangles of flexible grapples. Hard light flashed blue along all its joints. [...] The grapples extended around aft, providing stirrups. I climbed in through the rear hatch, and it sealed behind me. The cabin inside was spacious enough for a mature Warrior-Servant... I could see through the slanted, forward-looking direct-view ports that gave the sphinx's features the illusion of a disdainful, downward gaze.
You can clearly see the "flexible grapplers" connected to the construct in the trailer, as well as the two legs and tail (thought it's a very quick shot, you have to pause at the right time since the sand mostly covers it up). Image for reference. It's not an exact look based on how I imagined them, but I wouldn't be too miffed if that's the design they want to use for it.

  • Perhaps they're not always spread out? When the construct rises from the ground it initially appears to have them locked in at the sides. Or, perhaps this is a different model of War Sphinx as the Ur-Didact's were over 10,000 years old when he was awakened by Bornstellar.
