people were complaining that the royal baby was a boy such bullshit
-
It's a wonderful distraction from the troubles our country is in and will generate a bit of income, just like the royal wedding was, I know a lot of royalist have bought flags and memorabilia bc the baby has been born. Personally I'm not fussed but if they make bank holiday out of it or something good I won't mind
-
OP is just mad that his country doesn't have a royal family
-
Edited by die wily: 7/23/2013 10:37:03 PMBecause babies and monarchies are adorable.
-
2 RepliesWell, no one else seems to be mentioning this so I will: the great mass of people who drive the coverage of Britain's royal family are women who fantasize about a life of glamorous celebrity royalty.
-
Just a distraction from reality.

Edgy post.

8 RepliesIf you Americans want to shove your tradiitions of shooting animals and owning weapons down the worlds throats then surely you can honour our traditions. Also we tried a republic one and the Irish can tell you how that worked. Monarchy has been the life blood of this nation since it's creation and has given us no real reason to get rid of them, but give us plenty of reasons to keep them. Don't fix what isn't broken.
-
Nobody is actually excited, it's just the Media.
-
1 ReplyIt's rather amusing, America is way more interested in our monarchy than we are ourselves. For the wedding America had coverage on so many news channels, but over here the only reason anyone even gave a shit was because we got a day off work for the wedding-which we used to go down the pub to get absolutely hammered. It's the same here, i barely even heard the news that the baby is due soon and most, if not everyone, i know doesn't really care-yet over in America the news channels cannot stop talking about it.

Who? What?

1 ReplyI wasn't aware we were living in the 21th century. But really, I don't get the hype either.
we live in the 21th century so why do queens and kings still exist?
Money. Tradition. Attracting tourism. The list goes on. They don't rule the country with divine power or anything. I can't fathom how people don't understand this.
-
6 RepliesI have no idea why people are so excited about it either. No idea why the royal family still exists, so much for democracy!
-
I just think it's really cool that this tradition still stands strong years and years later! That's all really.
-
Oh look! The future ruler of the UK! LET'S NOT GIVE A DAMN.
-
I don't care. I see people talking about the royal baby, I see even more people complaining about the royal baby.
-
1 ReplyWhat the fuck is he wearing?
-
Why were people excited about Kim Kardashian's baby? It's the same thing. They're celebrities.
-
As for why the British people are excited, that's pretty obvious and I'm not going to touch that one (I just put that part so no Brits will get pissy and think that I'm referring to them as well with the following) As for the rest of the world, it's quite simple... Stupid people care about stupid things that aren't relevant to them in anyway. For Americans, people of Royal backgrounds are like God tier celebrities, so if the media flips their shit when Kim K has a baby and goes equally crazy for any other "star" that has one, how do you think the media and the mindless mouth breathers that follow the media are going to respond to something like this? They go bat shit cray and get excited about the birth of a damn baby, something that probably happens every single day. My Ambien is preventing me from typing any more, so I'll stop right there. Forgive me if any of that wasn't coherent.

1 Replyinb4 the baby is black
-
What I don't understand is why there is 24/7 breaking news coverage from American networks. It's every freaking channel too. IMO they should have talked about it or 20 min tops when it was announced and after that move it to the news ticker on the bottom of the screen.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Abe Lackman: 7/23/2013 12:21:00 PMWell, it makes more sense for (British) people to care more about any future royalty than they care about Kim Kardashian's baby. Also, Kate Middleton is now officially a MILF. If that's not cause for celebration I don't know what is.

>Implying they are excited
