7 RepliesCommunism is rigged to fail due to human nature. It'll never work until we have a messiah-like leader to resist the temptations of greed, and actually make it work. Even then, though, what happens when the benevolent saintly leader dies? How can anyone guarantee that the next ruler will be just as amazing? My vote goes to communism. Despite all of the fighting and death religion has caused, a large amount of engineering was pushed by religious motivations.

They've both failed miserably. One is designed to keep people equal (in theory) and the other one is designed to control people. Hmm, I wonder which one is worse? *clicks poll* *loses faith in humanity*

Edited by Atticus: 5/26/2014 10:24:31 PMReligion +Concept of teaching how to properly treat one another -The clash of two different perspectives of morality lead to conflict Communism +Great concept and also underlines the point of equality -Fails because of one of the primitive aspects of the human nature - possession. I'm not sure. Religion undoubtedly lead to more conflict and still does more frequently than communism - so that?

Communism is the worst possible society.

Communism is the very definition of failure

8 RepliesCommunism in theory works out for the best but in real life could only result in tyranny. Religion in theory works out for the best but in real life people use it as an excuse to persecute and kill. Although religion has also done a lot of good for humanity so I will vote communism.

> more votes for communism oh lawd

12 RepliesThough there are some militant religious sects (and have been several throughout history), I'm still casting my vote with communism. Not because it necessarily kills people outright, but because it is a flawed system that only works if everyone is actually willing to play their part (including the government). If everyone gets the same thing, regardless of effort provided or job performed, social loafing takes over. Why should I work harder to earn the same thing as the guy who hardly puts forth any effort at all? Why try to innovate, if my innovations aren't going to benefit me personally? Why study harder to become a doctor when I can get paid the same to do something else? Capitalism breeds competition. Competition breeds progress. Doctors in the states can get paid a generous sum of money, encouraging intelligent people with some extrinsic motivation. The best of the doctors will (mostly, though sometimes politicking gets people jobs they don't deserve) get the best jobs and cause demand for the most money. However, in communistic states such as Cuba, stories arise of high quality doctors who instead resort to selling cakes (yeah, cakes) on the black market since they can make more money that way. The quality of medical care declines as doctors are in higher demand, but lower supply.

1 ReplyEdited by DocSmurf: 5/30/2014 9:19:10 PMhttps://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/black-or-white Religion is still far more dangerous. It breeds ignorance and convinces people their opinions are impervious to counter argument. The popular religions present now will be gone in another thousand years.

4 RepliesCommunism, how this is even a question. One is a belief, the other is a tyrannical rule ver the people.

7 RepliesCommunism's cool. Religion has never been cool.

Communism is legitimately not bad The way they tried to implement it was bad. It's one of those things that would never work, but would be ok if it did.

Feminism and homosexual liberals, obviously.

Religion. Communism is a way of society.

The amount of arrogance in this thread is... not surprising.

2 RepliesReligion must be eradicated without mercy, pull down the places of worship, burn the "holy" books and demolish jerusalem, and if god reveals himself to be real then we end the bastard. (Not a troll post)

Edited by NSCLord: 8/9/2013 12:13:04 AMTough one. Religion has been the greatest cause for war, death and suffering in human history. Communism is like it, wherein states make rosy promises which turn out to be blatant lies and brutally dispose of people who oppose the system. My vote goes to Religion, mainly because of the mental prison it locks you in, and the wars/conflicts it pits you in.

Religion easily

5 RepliesEdited by CND AAA Beef: 7/18/2013 1:28:28 AMConsidering that communism has been around for less than 200 years, it sure has racked up a pretty decent body count. And even living in a religious theocracy circa 1000 AD is better than living in Airstrip One.
