Should halo be referenced in destiny
I believe that in a brand new game bungie should not forget a big part of there heritage, as they did with the marathon symbol in halo. Yes I believe no mater how little or hard to find it is that there should be a halo Easter egg in destiny, perhaps a crashed hog, a unsc fire base, John 117 "grave site" (halo 3). But however small I believe bungie should remember Spartans never die!!!117

1 ReplyWhen Bungie left Microsoft, didn't they give all their rights of Halo to Microsoft? So technically Microsoft owns Halo now, therefore owns copyrights/trademarks or whatever, so Bungie can't include Halo stuff without approval or paying Microsoft.

I say no, destiny is it's own game and should stay that way. Keep halo out of it, keep forge out of it. Halo is and was a great franchise but leave halo in halo and let destiny be destiny.

They had a RvB advertisement in halo 2... Maybe it can have something like that

I wouldn't mind something small, like a Halo poster hanging up in a small burned out shop or something like that, but that should really be the extent of it. Something in passing, and not related to the actual game.

Yeah it would be okay or great to have something in it that will remind us of halo but in no way should halo be in this game. New IP after all and halo is still being made or still existing. Unless bungie wants it I say no.... I think.

I feel that you should be able to get something similar to Master Chief's Helmet. But otherwise, no.

i would be really surprised if we didn't see some sort of halo reference... even a "remember reach" poster or something. I know that there are probably a lot of licencing issues between bungie and 343 now but I would still expect something subtle... maybe even a Master Chef cook book laying around.

11 RepliesRemember, bungie doesn't own halo anymore. They would need 343's approval. What i would want is castle base on europa with jun's (reach) grave. Would be nice to see him since we never learned how he died.

Should they? Yes. Will they? Very unlikely. There was even an article of them explaining they didn't have any plans to include Halo Easter eggs because thy don't own Halo any more and the legal hurdles they'd have to jump to put them in.

I'm pretty sure Deej said there won't be any halo Easter eggs as it's no longer there franchise, Deej also said they will create there own references almost like portal 2: the cake is a lie but much cooler!
