Can't sign in on desktop?

When I try to sign in on desktop, I can't. It opens a new window, sits there for a second and then closes. Nothing happens. I have tried 3 different browsers, even IE(which I saw was unsupported, yay!) to no avail. Am I doing anything wrong? Update: I managed to find my account on the site, but it says I'm not logged on. I can edit my settings there, but if I try and make any other adjustments, like going to groups it tells me "user does not exist". Still cannot log on. I can view my profile and it tells me what I have done, like topics made and replies, but if I try to go to them, it says I need to log on to continue. It's almost as if I have had a glitch of signing on, but the rest of the site does not realize it. Anyways, any help would be appreciated, tried to tag it as best as I could.

  • FYI: In the next update to the site, I hope to have a permanent fix for this bug. You know you're experiencing it if you sign in, and the site just refrehes and still shows you as not signed in, but parts of the site think you are signed in. I apologize it took so long, but as we cannot repro this issue internally, it has taken some time to figure out what was happening.

  • Hopefully this post bumps this back to the top. Camo m0nkey is still unable to log on, as of this post. He says that he is unable to log on through his computer and has to go elsewhere to try log in. This may or may not be an isolated issue but can you maybe try find a solution? Thanks.

  • Finally was able to sign in on mobile again. Still no luck on the desktop side of things. Also got a message from FenrixFlam3 saying him and his cousin can not log in either. I guess I'll continue to wait.

  • I had the same problem until the last couple of hours, I am currently in Greece and Achronos mentioned about it being a timezone issue. You should clear your cache and try to log in again.

  • I don't quite know if posting for other people is against new rules, but Rocket Turtle (member here) said he has tried all of Achronos' suggestions, and more, and is still unable to log in. Just making sure the people who're fixing the bugs see this.

    • Well then this seems to be fixed now hooray. I think the best bit of this bug was finding out that I couldn't post whilst Blue Jaguar could.

Make sure the following is true: 1. Clear your bungie.net and live.com cookies. Also clear your cache. Turn off all browser add-ons (I suspect something there might be the cause) 2. Close your web browser. 3. Go to http://www.bungie.net and sign in with Microsoft Account. Possible problems: Turn off ad blocking software. The login window is a discrete popup, not a floating dialog box. Make sure you don't have overly restrictive security settings that prevent setting of cookies. You can check for this - if you complete login, you'll see a few cookies starting with the name "bungle" in your browser's cookie list.

        • We're trying to track the bug down. One thing we've noticed is that it often manifests when you start the process using an https url. Start at http://www.bungie.net. We'll keep hunting for it.

        • Had a similar problem with the popup...I logged out and into my Microsoft Account via login.live.com and tried again...the popup worked better that time - also note that it can take quite a while. Beyond that I don't know.
