Bungie you need our financial support and player retention. Without it even Marathon will crash and burn.
I tried to play through the Barrow Dyad exotic quest-line. Got maybe 50% and when i'm att the "No escape puzzle" i get a notification, "Still there?"
Got thrown into orbit and have to start all over.
WHY ON EARTH CAN'T YOU IMPLEMENT CHECKPOINTS?
How much player interaction will be enough for you?
500, 5000, 50 000, 500 000 hours?
There are so simple steps to take to make this game enjoyable without stress. Bungies bad connection and online servers are the most worrying part. I don't even know how many times a "canary" or Baboon threw a monkey in a wrench.
When i zoom out and try to get a bigger picture it's almost clear. Bungie does not care, they say they do, but don't. You want us to buy all merch in your store "especially when reached a new trophy", and what do we get in return?
Roadbump after roadbump
If you are afraid that people will tire, well increase the difficulty on the GMs and Contest modes then. Do not sabotage the experience for new and casual players.

Bungie does not need the support of casual players. 80% of profits come from 20% of the consumers. They only technically need to care about the whales which are typically the sweats/streamers. This game already caters to casuals and low skill players.

This is the shortest and easiest exotic mission we have ever got , I solod it blind in like 15 or 20 minutes

3 RepliesDid you know 'Casual' and 'Serious' can be considered antonyms?

Marathon will have a completely different playerbase than destiny does due to the game not being made for destiny players. Also, the game still has significantly more players than a lot of newer games and is very clearly still being funded enough to have dlc still planned for it.
I tried to play through the Barrow Dyad exotic quest-line.
Got thrown into orbit and have to start all over. WHY ON EARTH CAN'T YOU IMPLEMENT CHECKPOINTS?
It's a very short and easy mission that doesn't take a PhD to figure out what to do. Not everything needs to have checkpoints due to a small groups inability to simply move around to not get kicked.
How much player interaction will be enough for you? 500, 5000, 50 000, 500 000 hours?
What game doesn't want people to play it more? If you're causing yourself to play more due to failing to complete something just because you failed to move around, then that's on you, not bungie.
There are so simple steps to take to make this game enjoyable without stress. Bungies bad connection and online servers are the most worrying part. I don't even know how many times a "canary" or Baboon threw a monkey in a wrench.
It's a video game. If you're stressing out over it, then either take a break or ask for some help like an adult. Also, a majority of the time, it's not on bungie's end. It's usually the player's connection to bungie's servers that's the issue. If you have a constant poor connection, then naturally, you're going to keep getting error coded.
When i zoom out and try to get a bigger picture it's almost clear. Bungie does not care, they say they do, but don't. You want us to buy all merch in your store "especially when reached a new trophy", and what do we get in return? Roadbump after roadbump
Yeah, they must not care by constantly changing things to cater to those who don't even have the smallest amount of skill to complete the easiest things. That must also be why they have a whole new thing being added in frontiers just to help the inept players have their own little playlist to play in. Bet there will be a bunch of complaints from those players once it's out how it's still too hard.
If you are afraid that people will tire, well increase the difficulty on the GMs and Contest modes then. Do not sabotage the experience for new and casual players.
This game was only ever once geared towards casual players, and that nearly killed it. Destiny never has and never will be made specifically for the people who barely touch it but complain constantly about it. The fact that the game still has hundreds of thousands of players after 10 years while newer games can barely even hold a fraction of that clearly shows that they don't need to worry about players as much as you think they do.

That mission isn’t very long at all but sure checkpoints seem like an easy ask. I’ll allow it

That puzzle isn't hard.

1 ReplyI agree checkpoints should be a thing in a mission that long. A little different story for the whisper mission and zero hour because they aren’t designed with a solo player in mind and are timed. But in general you are very correct.

this game is for casuals atm, and 90% of the game is for solo players,

Agree with the server issues but: Game is too old and we are too far down the road for any significant/noticable change. Absolutely disagree with exotic quest CP. it's not a difficult quest completed to previous ones. It's also not as long (quest dungeon) I'm a solo player myself no clan or friends that play D2 anymore and i can confidently say the game is very much solo friendly. I've completed every pierce of content the game has to offer either by myself or LFG. Well we get dedicated servers one day? I don't think we will get them in D2 that's for damn sure. Maybe D3 if such thing ever come to be.

3 RepliesI’m a solo player and got this done no problem. Level up

Marathon doesn't come into it at all they don't need destiny players for it they just need players that like looters shootersof which will atleast look at the gameplay reveal. Also Marathon is their main focus so it had a good chance

If you are paying bungie doesnt care if you enjoy or not

They are taking them serious. They also have to take the players who want content balanced around multiplayer serious. It's caused them to be quite confused.
