Can you stop spending limited resources on 'updating' old strikes and use that time to make new strikes instead?
Or better still use that time to fix the multitude of bugs and issues that are still plagueing the game.
Edit: Some great comments below. People raising a very good point, pulling old strikes out of the vault would basically cost nothing, and bringing back the older nightfall weapons with new perk sets too... instead they're putting effort into making strikes outright annoying just to make it take longer, not even more more difficult, just stealing extra time from players.

1 ReplyBecause they can’t, unless they pay activision for new content then there will be none.

It won't change anything there's nothing to go for! They need to bring back strike specific loot armor!

6 RepliesI think people really need to put the idea of asking for new stuff in D2 out of their heads. The game is on life support now, so the best you can hope for is that maybe they'll bring back vaulted stuff with some updates. On top of the fact that they're betting the farm on Marathon (a massive mistake in most people's eyes) and don't have the resources to produce new content, anything new would doubtless introduce new bugs and issues and they're clearly struggling with the ones they already have. As it stands, the 'updates' they have introduced have all increased difficulty in otherwise 'casual' activities, meaning that they're preaching to the choir and pitching it at long standing players with no intention to entice or encourage new blood into the game. The player counts are evidence of that, with today marking the lowest concurrent player count in the history of the game. They simply aren't replacing leaving players with new ones and they show no intention of even trying to. Their rationale behind vaulting content was that 'nobody was playing it', and it looks like they'll use the same excuse to shut the game down entirely.

1 ReplyBungie has 'improved' the old strikes in the way the Cybertruck has 'improved' the classic design of pickup trucks.

8 RepliesEdited by Raven-Ghosthawk: 12/6/2024 1:13:44 PMWhat of bringing back unmodified old(er) Strikes?

Strikes are a part of the "free to try" experience. Bungie won't give free content out

Edited by Guardian, Archon Of Light: 12/6/2024 4:22:37 PMNot in the budget, got to save money for Pete to buy more cars, he's got a good collection, but it could be great Pre-Order Apollo

2 RepliesEdited by Kildozer666: 12/5/2024 7:59:45 PMWe use to get 3-4 new strikes every expansion. Then it was 2. And since lightfall it’s been only 1 per expansion. That stinks because I’ve always thought their strikes were some of the best repeatable content in the game. Although, that was back when Bungie invested into this game instead of Marathon and classic car collections…

Idk if they can on that 5,000 dollar a week budget

Making new content is hard.

Making content is hard

Good luck with that. Don't see it happening

Cheaper to update old strikes

5 RepliesEdited by Sen: 12/5/2024 1:19:49 PMWhat's really sad is the fact that you have to even say this. Like I don't know WHY and WHATS stopping them from adding new strikes. Like c'mon. Make a twab about being honest. What is stopping them from making good loot, good content with meaning or longevity? Is it Apathy?

1 ReplyI agree it's not worth it, or bring back the old original strike and remove battlegrounds and no need to redo what worked fine all this time!!! we should have easy strikes for farming... this confirms that they are incompetent and do not understand what they are doing, these changes do not even have a design and meaning, they are just obstacles to slow down 🗿

If they put even half the amount of time and effort into these episodes and making strikes etc as they do for eververse, what a game we’d have. Look at dawning stuff. 1 gun. But a lot of new things you can buy in the store. Wonder why the numbers have dipped.

Edited by Sen: 12/5/2024 9:24:38 AMI think it's time thet stop making newer stuff and open the content vault. They can also introduce RETURNING LORE. They're not being efficient with their time. And I think it's a lack of engine stability and that also makes Bungie have a lack of motivation to do better because Bungie isn't passionate enough to do so. They clock in and clock out and they're spending 10 hrs to try and fix a bug that's been plaguing the game.

2 RepliesStrikes... like PvP maps, somehow became too hard to make at a fast enough clip somehow. How? Why? The pvp answer is a good one that no one probably wants to hear what I would say about that.

Honestly I liked it when an expansion affected the whole game like HoW and TTK back in the day. Strikes had those seasonal enemies added to it which felt like a good change but not like now where it’s totally different and slammed with champs. Having strikes that carry the storyline by doing this and releasing more vaulted strikes more often would help the core playlist. Even tone down the champs and slap an enemy boss in the middle for a change based on the lore, it would extend the gameplay by the same but keep it fresh each season.

I'd be happy if they just brought back the old Io and Mars strikes (*cough cough* WILL OF THE THOUSANDS *cough cough*).
-
Dude really ? Look at what’s happening right now with Bungie . There is nothing new on its way . This is it now .
-
Destruction takes less time and effort than creation.
-
Hahaha... if they can't re-skin it, re-badge it or re-hash it, it ain't gonna happen. They've given up on us and thrown everything into Marathon. They only care about noobs and mobile game users, because the rest of us e.g. D1 and long term players, aren't important for their bottom line.

2 RepliesI agree 100% but I would have used the word "ruining" instead of "updating", although I feel that is what you meant anyway. The few strikes and nightfalls that many of us looked forward to that are actually still in the game, have been totally ruined by adding unbearably frustrating mechanics, that make me just not bother anymore. I would, however, jump at the chance of new ones.

29 RepliesEdited by Klaus_Reaper (Adept): 12/5/2024 2:18:32 PMThey need to open the vault since they said that big expansions are over, bring the leviathan raid, bring crown of sorrows raid, in rotations just like the exotic missions, (not sure if its possible), if it can be done, do it.
