This may be a very unpopular opinion, but…
I have really been enjoying playing destiny 2 recently. The gameplay has been quite enjoyable and the seasonal lore as a whole has been awesome. Feel like there is so much negativity that always gets spread here, but I just wanted to share I’m logging on and having a good time. I hope there are others out there who feel the same. Too many people spend too much time complaining without realizing there is a reason they log on everyday lol

there is a reason they log on everyday
Ya, because they are addictive. Bungie actually hired behavioral experts(You know, people who design casino games) to make Destiny 1/2 as addictive as possible. Thats a big premise of Live Service titles.
seasonal lore
There's no Season Lore, its the lore as a whole. Which being a Lore Scholar of the Destiny Franchise, the quality of the Story has been decreasing. Its bare bones, and lazy. They even Contradict early Established lore, in order to please certain groups.
The gameplay has been quite enjoyable
That is Truth, the FPS side is very well done..not perfect, but good. But the FPS element alone cant carry a game.
Feel like there is so much negativity that always gets spread here
Well, because players like me, we are fed up with Bungie and their BS. Been playing since D1 launched, and i hated seeing the very game i loved be abandoned in favor of a New game. That all my Purchases were never going into the Destiny franchise, no they were going into a New game. of which leaks say, that players in that Market, wont even touch the game. A new pair of eyes wont really see the negative as quickly, as joy is at a High. Its okay that you enjoy the game, just dont Gas light players that dont feel the same way.

7 RepliesI spent 90 minutes doing a solo coil, got 3 enhancement cores and some garbage rolls because I didn’t kill the glass dude. Wasting my time isn’t super fun.
-
You can enjoy it and still recognize it for being -blam!- it is, you know.
-
You’re a needle in a haystack, Daquando. I agree. And I also don’t. Bungie, this year, hasn’t done a very good job. But they have had their moments. And D2 has always felt like a really good game. It’s just the higher ups messing up the game’s potential. But I won’t ruin your fun. I still play the game. It’s awesome. But it could be much better than that…
-
Gameplay has never been an issue with this game. It's always been story, content, PvP modes and maps, sandbox, and time gating.

Ok deej……. O no wait,he gone….

These forums are a severe echo chamber of idiocy, whining, and crying so unfortunately they’re generally a horrible place for any type of positivity that pertains to this game. If you enjoy playing it though then go nuts my friend and have fun.

Game is good management is bad. People just tired.

Seasonal Lore is awesome? That's a fantastic joke. The entire story of Destiny 2 has been one of the worst ones ever written, then it became a mediocre copy of an extremely mediocre series. Here's the thing. If you don't want people to be negative, then stop being obviously horrible.
-
I wouldn't say this is an unpopular opinion, just not one that people generally use forums to express. Apparently right now there are 60,468 people playing Destiny 2. The vast majority of the people that use these forums do so because they want to complain about something, and I'd bet those people don't even make up 1% of the current userbase actually playing the game. If you could get an actual poll of all of the active players, you'd probably have a landslide in favour of people enjoying the game.

Good on you, don’t let anyone take that away from you. A lot of things could be improved for players but there’s still a lot of fun to be had.

Game play, outside of the repetitive missions of seasons and outside of PvP, is solid. The gun play is great and so are the landscapes (even if we cant explore all of it and can no longer roam Mars). Destiny has a lot of high points worth praise. Unfortunately that double edge sword also makes the horrible mistakes and corporate choices all that much more blatant and obvious.
-
D2's gameplay is and always has been a great feeling shooter. With that said, I hope the filler they have planned is a banger cuz the season already feels dead.
-
The problem is that this is the time of year when I want to play pvp, and pvp is a mess of forced cross play lag. I also need checkpoints in exotic missions. That's not "too much complaining". Those are valid issues if you aren't just some wormy simpleton.

Edited by A_mo: 1/3/2024 2:05:52 PMThe story over the last two seasons has really been good compared to previous years for the most part. The game is still doing a lot of good and impressive things. I swear the lighting and fog and graphics are still getting better or maybe I'm seeing things. I do know the Dreaming City looks awesome now.

This season has been a win for me. Only complaint is Riven's lair is so similar to Coil that I just normally play Coil. I wonder if Crow will go through the portal next week or for the season finale?
-
If control was actually in the game this week, it’d be fun.
-
I'm having fun as well

Edited by adamndirtyape: 1/3/2024 7:12:59 PMYou like the game you're playing. There should be a trophy for that.
-
Bro, I’ve been loving everything about this game except for PvP for years. PvP has taken a hard turn for the worse in the last month or so… hard turn.
-
I stopped reading after you used the word enjoying and destiny 2 in the same sentence
-
I pretty much always enjoy D2. Otherwise, why keep playing it? I wish more people on here displayed enjoyment of a fun hobby. The way some people talk about video games, you would think they were forced to play against their will. 😄
-
20 RepliesSO brave.
-
Hmm and I thought only masochists that hate the game and themselves played this game 🤔

1 ReplyI’m glad you’re having fun. I seem to waffle. Some days I really enjoy it, others I just can’t find the drive to even fire up the game. I used to play every day without fail and have thousands of hours into the two games. It’s a subjective experience. Many are still having fun and enjoying a game that really shouldn’t be relevant after all these years. D1 and D2 are pretty special for just how long they have remained alive. Even with dwindling player base, it’s still here…

Edited by Kouz_MC: 1/3/2024 4:37:15 PMPositive: - Coil - WR - Starcrossed (even if some idiot streamer must have fooled way too many players into believing that the strat is to stay behind the glass at the boss, and turn this 2min fight into a 15min nightmare - Some cinematic and dialogues - Buried Bloodline (amazing exotic) Negative: - Riven’s Lair - Seasonal story missions/gameplay - Seasonal weapons - Seasonal armor - Events (becoming worse every year, and nothing to earn or chase other than useless titles) - IB and end game pvp (again nothing to chase or earn other than titles) Overall I’m satisfied, mostly because the artifact gives us the ability to combine and benefit from many elemental buffs (radiant, devour, unraveling, threadlings…) simultaneously without being locked into a subclass or loadout. Bungie will have to make a miracle though if they want the low playerbase to stick around until FS, especially since the next 6 months are going to see some new titles come out, and competition from fortnite to warframe has already hit Bungie’s wallet hard. I’ll be honest, fortnite which I used not to like, has become very fun to play with friends since their last season, while Destiny has turned into a solo game in which the multiplayer aspect is mostly based on cheese/glitch/carry some 6 players activities. Not fun, not impressive, no skill, nothing. And all of that mostly for some patterns and titles no one cares about.
