If anything right now is proving this game isn’t Free 2 play & shows bungie is money hungry…. It’s having to buy Dungeon Keys, AFTER buying the Campaign. Makes no sense other then being money hungry. Sorry not sorry. It’s sad. I have them & have everything since I bought the Deluxe/Annual Passes.. but when I bring new people to the game… they legit don’t wanna continue to play the game everyTIME b/c of all the money they have to spend for nothing. I even Console Shared with a family member before & they got everything but the Season (which makes total sense!) & the 2 dungeon Keys!! Like seriously?? It just blows my mind. How this game still in the F2P section… when all you can do is go to planet Earth unless you buy everything… & then buy the dungeon keys separate… all I’m suggesting is if you guys want this game to go up rather then down. Start taking -blam!- like that away.BRING BACK RED WAR. FORSAKEN. Those campaigns & itll legit make people wanna play them for nostalgia.. not new dungeons you have to pay to do once.

This game was NEVER free to play, it’s free to try at best.
-
Bungie added extra monetization via dungeon keys to balance out the free content given to freeloaders (all 3 reprised raids, prophecy, etc). If D2 never became f2p then dungeon keys wouldn’t exist.

Agree is pure greed

Guessing your a free to play player if your whining about having to pay 10 bucks to access additional content.

10 RepliesEdited by Sarus-X: 8/20/2023 4:53:49 AMHonestly, the only reason this is all a problem in the first place is because the game is now technically "free to play" and the management at Bungie is treating it like a monopoly. It shouldn't be like this, and they should have everything in the yearly bundle for the same as they were in the past. Currently, we get less than we used to, but pay twice as much as before. I get that Activision helped a ton back in the day, but even they didn't ask for $100 for a yearly expansion from their players who bought the base game for $60. As for the stuff that is vaulted, I can't claim to know why, but I hear rumors saying it's because the engine D2 is made on can't sustain that much data, so old stuff is a no-go. Admittedly, the size is starting to catch up to what it used to be, but I think they will start to vault more places when this exceeds 100GB again. Lastly, the new stuff wouldn't be so bad if the activities themselves weren't made to be as boring and monotonous as possible. For GoTD, the cheap and gimmicky moths that the final boss spawns (that somehow cannot blow each other up when one explodes like regular moths) and the absurd health pools bosses have for solo players are my only complaints for them. Yeah, it takes a while to get to dps, but if the bosses' health-to-damage windows were in line with other dungeons, I don't think it'd be a problem. By "health-to-damage windows", I mean they have a lot more health you need to deal with per phase to kill them within a reasonable time. I should say this level of damage is doable, but only if you are really good and smart with loadout-swapping. Most players can't do 3M+ damage in a single phase by themselves.

2 RepliesGuess you are a socialist Wanting others to pay so you can get free stuff

1 ReplyThey'll just roll the cost of the dungeon into the DLC lmao. But yeah lets bring back the red war campaign. THAT will keep people around lol.
-
They should have never made this game free to play.
-
supply and demand. The addicts here keep Bungie eating good.

1 ReplyRead an article a while ago about how big Devs have agreed to go full corporate & aggressively chase your money, bad quality unfinished product with promises of future fixes to keep you playing & heavy microtransactions pushed from higher up. Basically triple A studios are dead when it comes to innovation or caring about their playerbase. We've seen bungie go from to indie dev to bring bailed out by greedy publishers, picking up bad traits & then doubling down on greed, leading to a false image of being 'great' & being bought out by an overlord & they're now full blown corporate. We are all just a number on a spreadsheet. Gaming truly is in the gutter

-
1 ReplyThey should be included as part of the expansion. The expansions are priced at the cost of a full AAA game as it is. It is pure greed on Bungies part, simply seeing how much they can rinse players for. This kind of practice is why I won't buy Matter or Marathon or any of their other new titles.
-
3 RepliesI don't do dungeons & was forced to buy this year's dungeon keys because I bought deluxe. They're monetisation is just vile, they still have 4yr old nightfalls tiee to buying 4yr old dlcs that now just include a dungeon & a raid
-
11 RepliesI feel like their best way of getting out of this greed is just including the raid or dungeon with the purchased season
-
100% agree. It's ridiculous that dungeons aren't automatically included. I have never seen another game try to sell things in this manner. It's hard to imagine that some people actually defend this sort of thing. But, hey, it's not my money.
-
It's weird that dlc's and expansions go on sale but dungeon keys never go on sale. It's not a user friendly system.

2 RepliesEdited by xbroggiex: 8/21/2023 1:35:23 AMThey should grant old dungeon keys within the related expansion purchase or in the purchase of the latest expansion. It will become quite cancerous down the road when we have like 3-5 dungeon keys that you have to purchase separately that new players will just decide not to play this game.
I even Console Shared with a family member before & they got everything but the Season (which makes total sense!) & the 2 dungeon Keys!! Like seriously??
You can game share the licenses of the expansions but seasons and dungeon keys are silver purchases are specifically tied to your account in Destiny and don't transfer since they are not licenses on xbox or playstation, they go through Bungie and Destiny servers.

In the past, when Pit of Heresy and Shattered Throne shipped with Shadowkeep and Last Wish respectively, the ONLY new things they had were secret quests for Exotics. Any other loot they dropped was comprised of the World Loot of their respective locations. Prophecy, for all intents and purposes, exists to give a source for the old Trials of the Nine loot. On the other hand, the Dungeons you get from the Keys have their own armor sets, their own weapon drops, and Exotic Weapon drops with Catalysts you can obtain through future playthroughs. Besides, even if Bungie shipped the Dungeons with the Expansion itself, you'd probably complain instead about Bungie using Dungeons to inflate the price of the Annual Expansions.
How this game still in the F2P section… when all you can do is go to planet Earth unless you buy everything
Locations are accessible to all players when they become part of the game. We've also been getting reprised raids that are Free to Play for the past three years. With the year of Final Shape, it's likely the number of Free-to-Play raids will go up to 4.

52 RepliesYou want more? It costs more. To make more, they have to pay more people more often. Boom. You pay more to get more. That's not bungie, vro. That's capitalism.
-
You have to pay for content? Wow. How dare Bungo run this game like a business.
-
I don’t mind paying for good content. I think dungeons are some of the best content in the game. Worth it!
-
How else are they going to pay for their next dumpster fire of a game? lol Marathon But yeh it is quite stupid that someone who pays for a new season doesn't get the dungeons with that transaction
-
How we gonna open the door without the key? 😁 But yeah, I’d rather those be the season itself. You don’t see deep dives or salvage becoming strikes
-
Scummy move on Bungies part 🤷🏼♂️

7 RepliesGreed is still oozing here. It was clear, Activision was good for this game. We got a lot for the price we pay. Activision leaves and dumps this empty and broken game into the dumpster and everything went downhill. But the milking of a dead cow is beyond laughable! Bwahahahahahaha!!! There is nothing here. EMPTY! Bwahahahahahaha!!! Welcome to hollowness!
