Your Champions are stupid. Champions requiring super specific things just to deal with a super powerful enemy is unfair. Especially when so many of the cool and unique things just can't deal with it unless you get something related to it, which is BS.
I can think of three solutions. One:
Make the mods all encompassing. So like all Kinetics pierce Barrier, all Energy pierce Overload, all Heavy pierce Unstoppable.
Two: make them NOT FRICKING REQUIRE SOMETHING. Like, don't make barriers heal AT ALL and Overloads heal slower so you can actually outdamage their healing. That way, you can wait for the barrier to go down to damage Barriers more and Overloads require constant DPS to kill.
Simple.
And yes, I do believe your champions are infact cheating.
Now that I think of it, another idea is just put all Champions in Master and Grandmaster. Maybe a couple here and there in Legend missions, like an Exotic quest's Legend like Seraph Shield.
There's no reason a CASUAL player has to do things PROFESSIONALS do just to get something cool or DO SOMETHING REQUIRED FOR STORY
PROGRESSION.

You're just bad, change my mind (you cant)

I like champs, I just don’t like how the champ mods keep changing every season forcing us to use specific weapons.
-
Killed an anit barrier once with a shotgun and throwing hammer
-
14 RepliesI want to believe in people, but you guys make that sooooooooooooo hard.
-
1 ReplyI’m sorry but anyone who is still complaining about champions are just absolutely garbage at the game.
-
This is going to sound harsh, but if you aren't adaptable enough to adjust your play style to the weapons required to take out champs, that's a skill issue. If anything, champions that require a rotating set of weapons makes you versatile, which is pretty much a requirement to succeed in this game. you can't just stick with one or two weapon types and expect to be good. If you want champions to not heal, or something juvenile like that, where's the challenge? I can understand if you're asking for the Fallen Captain Champion to stop teleporting every 0.5 seconds, but the whole purpose of barrier champs healing is to make sure you use your weapons and/or team shoot to take them out. Not very difficult at all.
-
Personally I just kill them all before they have a time to heal. Is the best option when you don’t want to use other loadouts. I stick with my main three weapons all the time. Sniper hand cannon and rocket launcher without mods and it works just fine. I do agree that they should not of ever added into the game. But at this point they’re just a mild inconvenience. Not a challenge.
-
Champs are easy you just suck. 2 out of the 3 can be killed without even using champ mods. If you can’t comprehend the mod system you should probably just play something else lol
-
Suspend subclass verbs anti champ intrinsic exotics ect

1 ReplyPROFESSIONALS? 😳😳😳😳😳😳

6 RepliesThough I don't have trouble dealing with them, I agree that they are stupid. Forcing builds on people to do content is not a real means to encourage diversity of playstyle. In fact it does the opposite and just rotates it out every season. The model is stupid.

Titan suspend barricade + overload scout. You can stun all 3 ez

Edited by TheBoyWhoLived: 6/18/2023 7:18:09 AMIts just sad… champions on lower difficulties (hero/legend) are really not strong and very easy to deal with
-
Sounds more like a stubborn refusal to change your loadouts (don't worry, my friend has the same problem with many weapons, just refuses to use them) and use the weapon types that actually break the champions to stun them. And now our subclass keywords can stun Champions too, so there IS more options for dealing with them - but you still have to play the "seasonal meta" of the artifact game that Bungie forces upon us in order to effectively deal with the Champions.
-
Unstoppables are a joke, I can already out-DPS an Overload, and Barriers can't heal in time! If you wanna know how I did it use the Heir Apparent and shut up.
-
1 ReplyI don't have trouble with them, in fact I think they are easy. However, I do think it was a bad idea to implement them into the game. Bungie added them so that you would have to try different weapons and loadouts, therefore grind for more gear in this looter shooter.
-
2 RepliesI honestly think they’re lackluster,I’d much rather have enemies with actual mechanics instead of something that forces us to change our loadouts so heavily. -blam!- those cool vandals from scourge of the past? I do,I loved them.
-
Without champions everyone would still be playing the D1 scout rifle/sniper rifle meta. Get out your turtle playstyle and get in the fight.
-
If you already type change my mind and you cant ,then its obvious its a troll post

Disagree. Champions are fine. Try playing against them back in Shadowkeep, where anti champion options were limited and you had (barrier) champs that could spawn (and still do) on the moon to jump you in patrol. If you weren't running Eriana's Vow back then, you were toast pretty dang quick, the only saving grace being you could respawn, run and regroup. So many weapon and subclass options now. Sure, I don't like switching outside my preferred too often, but if I need to for content, I'll do it and find a build that fits my playstyle, and if I'm not solo/solo matchmaking, I'll compensate for team shortcomings and they compensate for mine. Now, what *does* need to happen, though, is a tutorial mission somewhere in the rank 1-5 (I'd say about 4 or 5) which introduces players to champions and the ways to deal with them. Maybe as part of Ikora's subclass stuff or something. Perhaps once completed, it can be a repeatable 'testing ground' for testing anti champ builds or even act as a refresher for returning guardians to catch up on or be reminded of champ mechanics. The second thing is, have the anti champ symbols next to our abilities too if they have some form of anti champ capability because I am genuinely always forgetting what stuns what. Volatile rounds gained from outside sources as well as radiant already marks your weapons when the buffs are active for example, but what about, say, suspending grenades? Hammer Strike? Stormtrance? You could even have a big or a small icon depending on whether it is guaranteed stun (withering blade slow) or more situational (solar grenades generally just scorch but can stun if the target gets too scorched and ignites). A third, maybe more controversial option: freeze and suspend should stop all champions. They are rendered immobile, trying to break free from their confines. Why would they be focusing on healing, teleporting everywhere, throwing up a shield or trying to chase me down over struggling for their life to get free? But just my take on it.

Equip a chill clip fusion. Bam-two champs solved right there.
-
The champion system was a buggy mess that should of never been implemented. I don't know why Bungie leans so hard on it when they can't even program them right.
-
Champions are easier than ever to deal with. At this point it a you problem.
